  1. As Kilid says, the bar was a smashing success - thanks again to all you lovely people who attended. We're really looking forward to the next one! But we're not resting on our laurels now. Tonight we have our weekly PVE night, running lowbie dungeons for our members still levelling up and some end game content for our 50s. Hooray for better gear and hopefully some fashionable new clothes for glamour! Saturday we'll be wrapping up our first FC plotline and I'm quite excited to see how everyone plays their part. On Sunday, we're going to visit the Golden Saucer ICly with the whole company. Anyone interested in joining our company is welcome to come to the RP then (at 19.00 GMT in Ul'dah), ask questions both IC and OOC and otherwise get a feel for what our RP is like. Or if you just fancy RPing with us, by all means, go for it!
  2. Well, even if we stick out like a sore thumb, my FC plans to have an IC visit of the Saucer soon. All that glitz, glamour and excitement is just too good to pass up! Plus big crowds are great for pickpocketing...
  3. Take out the ["code"] in your post. That should fix it.
  4. Brightfeather for mine since she's a healer. Something about bright, curative light or something... My racing chocobo is Reckless Shadow. I was reckless indeed when I burnt out her stamina in my first race and she flailed her way into fifth place.
  5. Hyvää päivää! (This is about the extent of my knowledge of Finnish, I'm afraid, and apologies if I got it all wrong...) Welcome to Balmung! You might want to check out the European Directory for events, linkshells and free companies friendly to our timezones. Hope to see you around in game.
  6. Kilid and Inarah had their first proper date last night at Camp Bronze Lake. I think she's sulking here. "Why dun ye come sit a bit closer...?"
  7. I'd lock up my valuables and keep one eye open at all times... :dodgy:
  8. Oh that really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I get night terrors and have a hard time falling to sleep afterwards, and sometimes in general, because I get so worried about having more terrors. I can't nap (try, but almost always just end up staring at the ceiling) and want to go to bed early but I get a second wind at around 8 pm so keep staying up late. The past few months have been particularly bad. I was up til 5 am the other night... Why yes, I am fuelled purely by caffeine, why do you ask?
  9. I'm not really sure. From her accent alone, she's northern English, because...well, it's where I live so it's pretty easy to get into the swing of typing. So much so that sometimes I start typing that way OOC too.
  10. Yes, please! I've RPed in the Bismarck and Wench but both seem so quiet in comparison to Ul'dah. It's a shame to waste such a beautiful (in my opinion) location.
  11. Inarah has a soft, whispery voice so something like this, I think. [video=youtube]
  12. Inarah is, as I'm sure any Browncoats will have guessed, named after Inara Serra in Firefly. Both characters share some personality traits and I personally think the name is beautiful. Her surname (and consequently father's name), Marad, was totally ripped from inspired by Vindicator Maraad in WoW. Again, some similar personality traits between Maraad and J'marad. Plus I like the sound of it, so there.
  13. I was also on AD EU and yes, if you were RPing in public, it was pretty much given that you were open for random RP and the onus was on you to explain otherwise if and when you were approached. It seems alien to me for people to RP in a very public place yet refuse to engage in public RP... I'm not sure what the solution is here. I would like to hope that most of the cases of people being ignored are down to the simple problem of having missed the approach. If that's not the case, well, I would move on and try again. Perhaps try another area altogether if that particular one seems rather insular for whatever reason. One thing I can say is that, if you see me RPing out in public and approach me, I will absolutely respond. If I happen to be afk, I'll whisper you when I get back and apologise. If I don't respond at all then that means I somehow missed it entirely so a whisper to get my ferret-like attention would be appreciated!
  14. Wow, thanks so much to everyone who showed up tonight! Really wasn't expecting such a turnout but I was pleasantly surprised! Of course a big thanks to our bar staff, to Tatayo for running the chocobo race and also to Altonio Salaphonte for helping us tidy up afterwards. The winner of the race was R'khei Tia! Congratulations! A sampling from the many (many) screenshots I took: Thanks again to you all and see you in a fortnight two weeks for the next Sunny Seaside Bar!
  15. Welcome back! Seems there's a lot of people returning lately, which is wonderful.
  16. Thanks very much to Kilid for providing the write up for last week's event. In other news, we had another event last night which brought new developments into the FC plot! Thanks to everyone who attended; it was an interesting evening. Have some screenshots!
  17. Very big! I'm going to relish this and I don't care if it makes me a noob.
  18. Just a little reminder that this is happening tomorrow! See Kilid's post for details about the entertainment this week, chocobo racing (and many thanks to Zymzu for the idea), if you're interested in participating in that as well.
  19. Thanks for hosting this! I had a great time. Wish I could've stayed longer!
  20. You're very welcome, and glad to hear it!
  21. Hello and welcome! I'm guessing from your profile that you're an EU player so just thought I'd point out the European Directory for events, linkshells and FCs friendly to our time zones. Enjoy your stay on Balmung!
