  1. http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Ala_Mhigan_Shaman http://xivdb.com/?filters=cGFnZT0xJmxpbWl0PTYwJnN0cmljdD1vZmY= They do very much exist! They show up during the Ala Mhigan part of the early MSQ (level 30 ish) and during the 50 Monk quest. In 1.0 they were conjurers, and in 2.0 they were conjurers. So I assume you can go either 1.0 CNJ with them, or 2.0 CNJ. However while I think some might have been shunned, just as with any other class/job/archetype, I don't think that would be the general rule of thumb. They show up a few times here and there after all, together with other Ala Mhigans! But yeah, we got very little on them. All I can kinda say they seem to be alike to conjurers, but for all we know... they might be a completely new/different class. But I do think what little what we have is a solid ground for "heals" and "can do magical damage". That said we do have Ala Mhigan/Corpse Brigade Firedancers, who look like their THM counterpart ((oddly enough they don't use any firespells so far :^] )). So might be worth looking into if you are really looking for something more offensive in terms of magic? I'm not sure what you're after all! But we got even less lore on them, beyond them being mobs around the Corpse Brigade cave. Completely unrelated, but maybe still related note. In the Winter's Knell 1.0 quests, there is however an Elemental trapped in a relic/gem. It is said to be an Ala Mhigan relic who existed for quite some time. So I wouldn't rule out the Elementals not living in Gyr Abania. Or heck, for all we knows Ala Mhigan shamans know how to trap them compared to their Gridanian counterpart. After all the forest gave fuck all about them in the Autumn War and didn't turn onto them in the Autumn War. So they might have had their shamans just dealing with greenwrath that way. Hells if I know. But that's all vague speculation at best, and something you really shouldn't take for granted or as fact.
  2. To add to the question about tanking. You will get a tank stance at 30 as well what will help you greatly. Lower level tanking is a bit of a headache at times, but once you get your tank stance, unless you got super overgeared and undersynced people in your dungeon group, holding agro will be a breeze!
  3. My opinion still stands; using a midlander model to represent a highlander model is a poor choice because they are so very diverse if you tweak them enough. I'm happy enough to continue this discussion in another thread if the mods want me to o/
  4. I understand the dilemma yeah. I know someone who actually uses a female highlander model to represent an underaged male highlander. They still sometimes get the confusion, but the character has a male name, doesn't look super feminine (because you can make super androgynous highlander ladies), and has it their search info. That said, shark face doesn't make them look utterly old? Then again if you're looking for a super young appearance aka midlander and elezen super boyish face, then yeah, you're out of luck with male highlanders. Anyhow, I personally feel you're best off picking the race you're meant to represent to avoid confusion, especially if you do not want that confusion to happen IC or OOC. Because it is bound to happen at some point. Most people I've known who picked another model while still roleplaying x do know this and they handle it gracefully when it comes up IC or OOC. However I've seen people handle it very badly as well. Not so much about the topic at hand in this case, but rather about what Parth Makeo described above.
  5. Haha! Maybe it doesn't work in the sense that "not everyone will know about it" but it does work in the sense that you do not mind that interpretation, (I presume!) and should it come up importantly I could easily correct it, and should it come up in conversation Aya would just presume it was an unimportant mistake I wouldn't say I mind it, but I do feel it is a poor choice onto representing your character as the race (or clan) they are meant to be. Especially because unlike all the other races, midlander and highlanders do look distinctly different in regard of frame of body they are given in game. For me it is sticking a dog label onto a cat and then getting upset people see it as a cat and not a dog. Thankfully you don't seem to do that though, what I have to give you kudos for. Anyhow, opinions differ after all, and well, at the end of the day, everyone's going to use whatever model, race, lore or whatever suits them best even if some might not agree with it. Some people will roll with it, others won't. As long people aren't mean about it OOC? Eh, who cares. But I do feel, especially with the hyur clans, if you do the swap and try to represent the other clan, you should except some people will throw comments at your character or muck up their clan. Because well, a highlander doesn't look like a midlander and visa versa!
  6. I like the idea of Ilberd going to Thordan himself up. In any case, it's so silly they didn't update NPC dialogue in the Shroud. Everyone just stand there, minding their own business as usual and ignoring the giant orb in the sky. I checked Little Ala Mhigo as well, nothing changed there. Whereas I can kinda get it why they didn't do it in LAM as it still need some time to spread the news. But c'mon, just seeing the Woodwailers go "ah yes, we stand here to keep an eye on Garleans. Nothing is happening here, WoL person." is a bit ????
  7. I mean uuh... its a giant floating thing who can be seen all over the Shroud. Unless Nero lorewise comes flying in with Omega weapon 5 minutes later, I'd imagine that thing in the sky would spread like wildfire. Then again, SE didn't update any NPC dialogue. Including those in the East Shroud. It's kinda... hilarious to see NPCs just go about their business and ignore the giant new moon like thing in the sky :l
  8. Rhalgr... it's gonna be Rhalgr... He might look like a griffin though. But yeah, Ilberd said he would summon a god, because a primal is just not good enough... and seeing he is a Highlander and he needs a god of war to do... war... stuff... then Rhalgr is the most likely answer. It's probably not Rhalgr though! English, once more, get's shafted in lore we get. Read Sounsyy's post above why it probably won't be Rhalgr in detail. Ilberd speaks of a new God who doesn't need worshipping and praying to, freed of dogma and all that. So he is probably going to summon something new. Maybe it will be an improved Rhalgr 2.0, but that's the further stretch I would want to give it. Not to mention if that is Rhalgr, it would just make Eorzea a cakewalk to overtake. Religion would shatter complete within in Eorzea, and destabilising governments all over the place due to it. Even if PCs often don't give a fuck, the people in Eorzea and those ruling it, really do. Next to that you will get 'Garlemald was right' type of nonsense if our Gods are dumbed down to primal level. Also we can see the primal's feet, so I doubt it be a Griffin, unless it is some human/griffin hybrid new god/primal?
  9. I found the new dungeons super easy? Feels like they severely undertuned it on trashmobs. I ain't complaining, seeming it is trash. But I had thought the two dungeons to be harder. Then again I've been only running those dungeons with mostly friends. When I got a tank and ninja who didn't know wtf how to play their class, it ended up being a mess.
  10. I think the point is that the Alliance is going to be dragged into this war now, regardless if they like it or not. The Garleans by all means saw an assault from the Alliance, and not so much from the Resistance. I do think that was a good point of Ilberd/story, to get the Alliance forced into it that way. They really don't have a choice any more. They have to make the best of out of it now, and that sadly enough will include working with the Resistance/Ala Mhigans, seeming they do know Gyr Abania better then anyone else. But yeah, we will probably get some shitty redemption story aka Ishgard 2.0
  11. Yes. Then he joined the Crystal Braves to redeem himself. So about that...
  12. It's probably not Rhalgr, or as we know him guys. Sadly enough ENG text got shafted /again/ as usual, but Ilberd speaks of a new God who doesn't need praying to. Unless he's going the better, stronger, faster route with Rhalgr and comes up with a 2.0 version, its probably something new. (that said, would be awesome if it was Rhalgr, but that logically seen would cause so much drama in Eorzea. Religion would be shattered everywhere if the Twelve could just be summoned like that. Garlemald was right and all that, next to that.)
  13. I do think it is smart if there's an option to represent your race, you should pick it. Some people will pick onto it. I can understand it for Garlean roleplayers ect, because the race isn't available to them you know? You can still tweak the models quite nicely. Yes, even duskwight women can look good, you just need to sit down and play with the character creator for a while. And Aya, I really thought she was a midlander all along, so there you go, the proof it doesn't always really work
  14. Don't even remind me of defendurps of the weak ** bullshit they are going to pull off.
  15. Tanks who say that tanking adds is not a mandatory thing when content is new. Nah, instead having it run loose between the raid is the right thing to do because clearly picking up adds as the OT is a wild new concept never implemented in FFXIV or any game before
  16. 4) Don't throw artefacts of immense power into depths and hope that solves it. Anyone has anything more to add as advice for the Scions/Warrior of Light?
  17. Hey guys, it's probably not Rhalgr even if the English version wants to make us believe it. Have shitty Google Translate translations because I'm lazy German Ilberd: With the cry of those whom no one will hear! With the longing of those who do not fear death! With our despair and our abysmal hatred for Garlear, I call a new God! A God who does not need begging prayers! Papalymo: A God who does not need prayers? Alphinaud: You want to fight the Garlear with a Primae? Do not be a fool, Ilberd! You know you'll pay dearly for it! Ilberd: Not with "one" Primae ... With an Urgewalt, stronger than all Primae! Stronger than the power of the black monster which evoked the all-devouring catastrophe! Fighter of the Grinding Stream: How could we be so foolish? Nobody ... defeat the Garlear ... Fighter of the Grinding Stream: No Power ... from this World ... Papalymo: The incantation is complete ... The Primae or whatever will appear at any moment ... French Ilberd: If a human can not resist the power of these Eyes, then I am ready to turn myself into a monster to enjoy their power! Let them shred my flesh, let them drink of my blood, and devour my bruised heart. Alphinaud: What do you intend to do !? Ilberd: The heartbreaking lament of despair ... Hatred towards the Empire ... The desire for power ... These pure feelings and fervent supplications before the certainty of death will allow me to call A new god freed from all dogma! Papalymo: A new god ... freed from all dogma !? Alphinaud: Do not be stupid, Ilberd! You know very well that you will never be able to overcome the Empire even with the power of a Primordial! Ilberd: That's right ... And that's why I have to invoke a Primordial even more powerful than the great dragon that caused the seventh plague! And Sounsyy talked with someone who told them that they speak of this in Japanese "a new god that is not based in faith"
  18. FUCK IF I KNOW BUT THAT'S WHAT THE GERMAN TITLE IS???? Also... http://de.xivdb.com/title/340/der+meistersch%C3%BCler Seems English version basically got the spoiler lols, rest not so much GOOD JOB SE
  19. I'm so over Ishgard completely due to this writing. I'm 90% sure Ala Mhigo is going to end up the same. But at least we still get to be extremist assholes for a while.
  20. I will check the DE title after this Dun Scaith
  21. This patch is making me remind why I fucking hate 95% of all ‘gamer couples’. They are so often so fucking incompetent. This fucking idiotic healer didn’t bother to ress the bards. Nah, had to ress her fucking boyfriend’s dragoon. Because what’s songs, what’s MP back to ress the whole party? Jfc. It especially fucking irks me because it was yet another fucking cancerous woman not living up to any standards for doing MMO content and dragging my fucking gender down with her utter lack of skill and knowledge. Go back to fucking Farmville.
  22. If you need a priest for Rhalgr prayers in specific, I can offer out Avelyn! She's a Fist of Rhalgr after all. Rest of the Twelve are hardly her thing though.
  23. If you do the quests of the Astrologian Questline, you will find out the Forum has a huge disdain for teaching outsiders. That is why Leveva is hiding. I believe she goes directly against the orders of the Forum. She only manages to get out because she has evidence Sevestre (?) killed her father (in)directly (?), and let her go. I don't remember exactly any more. But yes, teaching outsiders without permission as a Sharlayan native will get assassins and the likes after you by the looks of it. And yeah, Ishgard hated anything non-Ishgardian. Believe Sevestre set her father up against an angry mob. But they managed to convince the Ishgardians otherwise in recent times. So they aren't just Astrologers any more, but also become Astrologians next to that. I know, it's confusion as hell. I'd strongly suggest to just go reread the AST quests on XIVDB or something
  24. In a couple of hours! Make sure to unlock your /throw emote for this! http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Toss_Fit_Workout
