Sadly, if you're looking for a thriving and active RP community, you would eventually have to transfer into Balmung, with Gilgamesh behind it (though everyone just tries to transfer to Balmung, even Gilgamesh players). Other servers outside these two are very fragmented with a few RPers at most. Maybe an FC or two. However, if transfering ever becomes a possibility in the near future, remember that you can actually transfer multiple characters that are on the same server to another for the price of 1. So all your characters have to be on ,Cactuar for example, you can make up to 8 characters on that server, then transfer them all over to Balmung for future use.

Many people here have said that I've wanted to say. You're art is simply wonderful. I know what it feels like, to be brought down by the very few harsh comments I've come across in my life. I know the feeling of being depressed and lost and its something that I and many others have struggled through. But please, do not let that hide you from all the wonderful things you have. Do not feel sad that your mom and your grandparents went out to help you. To have that sort of support and help for your own hobbies is something to look up to for any parent. You did what you could and did you best out there and there's a lot of admiration and respect to have there. And if you need to, do not be afraid to slow down and take a break whenever you need to, from your studies or your art. Life can get hard at times but its important to recollect oneself and recover. Try not to burn yourself out. Funny enough, we have the same focus in our studies. I remember being lost, and I felt extremely bad that all my friends would graduate before me. But after some time to recollect myself, I was able to refocus onto the path I wanted to take, with some changes here and there. Truly, I do hope you feel better soon as do many others. We understand that life happens, and it can happen to any of us. Best we do is support each other.

I just want to make a note when you're trying to fit a character into a certain job archetype doesn't mean you necessarily need to use that weapon. Zanzan for example has access to Thaumturge magic, some Arcana, as well as developing the use of the Dark Arts from the dark knight job. When utilizing dark arts, he still uses his staff because there's nothing linking that sort of magic to the use of a greatsword. Bards do not have to be stuck with a bow either as their magic is in their song, not the bow, just convenient as a support weapon. Personally I think you're trying to fit in too many concepts into a single character because of all the classes you OOCLY play. As someone said before, a traditional keeper huntress that's skilled with spear and bow still has plenty to work with. Don't feel like you have to add every OOC element icly into your character. As for accessing powers similar to white magic of that of a white mage. It's hard, very hard because it's insanely powerfull to the point that the elementals themselves forbade the use of that power level of white magic. It was capable of bringing in a calamity like event and is capable of giving users immortality and all that crazy stuff. What would be more realistic would be accessing the same level of white magic as conjurers do, by attuning themselves to the energies and aether in the nature around them. As for dark knight magic, they call it the Dark Arts. I'm not sure how one would develop magic similar to that since the nature of it is still mysterious. We only know that it powered by our darkest emotions and is past down from master to student according to the storyline. But that isn't to say that your characters magic cannot be affected by their emotions. But I can't give you answer how you'd be able to fit in the dark arts without training as a dark knight.

Jeez whizz.. I wonder if their employees get paid for all the work they do for keeping the servers stable? People talk about storage size of SSD's or HDD's, but the main problem is bandwidth or not even that, more like how much data is being built then transferred from one machine to the next. In each Housing zone, you have a lot of people growing crops, personally-owned retainers that people use to sell and buy, chocobo training, and maybe some other things I may have missed. There's a constant stream of data being transferred that not just housing or furniture items, but things that are read, configured and transferred 24/7. I hope someone has a source for this but I think I read somewhere that more Wards would be possibly if they got rid of the gardening and chocobo training system out from the Housing zones. Maybe it worked for LOTRO since they didn't have all of these minor features taking up more data than housing would by itself. Maybe it worked for Wildstar because every house is "housed" in its own instance, thats not loaded unless someone is there, rather than connected to a bunch of other neighboring homes. Its difficult to compare housing systems from each game when they all have a different infrastructure or foundation. Back to a more related note, I can't wait to press the log in button for two hours straight while maintenance is happening.

Remember, when you look at the nature of Voidsents, its not just an outwardly, physical change or appearance that would be affected. It has a physiological and mental effect as well. As Jana said, Voidsents in nature must be consuming aether to live, and the most abundant source is life itself, and every experiment that involved Voidsents have been catastrophic failures in some form or an other. And most things that have touched by the Void have either been twisted or just simply crazy. And because of this, people are rather quick to draw their weapons when someone cries out "VOID!" and any sort of magic involving the Void is illegal or forbidden. All of this is my opinion, there is definitely too much Voidsent going around. Its so common in Eorzea, its easy to involve it into plots or backstories. There are a lot more aetherial anomalies out there you can attempt to work with. Don't choose Voidsent because its easily accessible.

Zanzan Yanzan commonly classifies himself as a Thaumaturge to people he meets though he's a bit of a hybrid between jobs and other classes. A more appropriate term would simply be the generic term of "Mage". The reason why he calls himself a Thaumaturge however, is because of his method of channeling and shaping aether and into destructive magics, and also his specialization in combating dark magic such as voidal magic. He also was minor knowledge of Conjury and average knowledge of Arcanium. He wasn't taught at the guilds however. He was home-taught by parents who were independent mages as well, with his mother, also played by another player, having extensive knowledge of several types of magic though she is more closer to a Black Mage. And some of those aspects do show in Zanzan's spellcasting. Not many would notice it unless they were a secret Black Mage that took note of how his spells worked. He is nowhere or even close to as powerful as a true Black Mage but there are some aspects to it in his spells. He's also under-going a phase of his progression that is turning him into a Dark Knight however, and his training and usage in the magic of the Dark Arts. I thought it was appropriate because he is a "mage" but also his philosophies and goals in life falls in line with those of the Dark Knights. I too have my own interpretation of what a true Dark Knight is that may fall out of the usual stereotypical views on them. Remove all of these classes, and the knowledge that he wields magic and many will see him as a simple poet and bard (in a non-job way), inspiring both civilians and adventurers alike with his tales and songs. ---------- My alt, Claude Duval, is an Ishgardian-born dragoon. He is all rights a dragoon, his primary initiative to stay in Coerthas and in Ishgard to defend and slay dragoons. Very rarely can you find him anywhere else as he takes his "job" as a Dragoon with utmost duty and honor. While it limits his RP, I believe it was realistic. Plus, due to the limited RP outside of plots and hooks, I'm able to progress with my younger character, 23 year old Zanzan, who has more potential to grow than the 40-something year old Claude.

This is a constant struggle I have seeing that my Lalafell is with a Xaela. Its just like... Will it come out a scaly-horned Lalafell? An exceptionally youthful looking Auri with less scales and biggo lalafell ears? Or Lalafell ear-shaped horns? WHAT'S GOING TO COME OUT. DEAR GODS.
