Server: Balmung Timezone: EU Me and my friend decided ICly to join the Immortal Flames. We eventually plan to work our way to the top. Being Paladin or Bloodsworn. But having just two players RP that out doesn't seem realistic, so we'd like to have a CO or someone to instruct our characters, taking them on missions. The ranks and brigades are a little vague. At the moment we're still deciding whether to go with the Free Brigade (Adventurers) or the 1-3 Main Brigades (Volunteers). They'll likely tell you they fired him, but that's not what happened. - Prison. Oh he's been there a few times, making a scene were the guards cause trouble for the poor.

Gotta work for your money to enjoy game time, that's the unfortunate reality I'm afraid I myself am looking to get back into work, but something part-time. I worked full time for a year under a contract. Personally I felt it was a waste of my life. Where I worked was hours away, had no car to get there, earliest train to get there on time. Would work, come home, late night snack, sleep, up at 4am (this was all a 9-5 shift btw), and so on. Didn't have time to see friends because they worked weekends, no time for games. I was lucky to have about an hour. Now that I'm unemployed I still rarely get to see my friends, but there's plenty of game hours. I rarely game in the night. Come 10pm I go on the laptop and see the family, My advice... if you can, go for part time. If you're desperate, both. Make a schedule, see what time you have spare.

I'm actually okay with this but I can't see myself wearing one of the outfits. Maybe they'll introduce more from other games? Beta forums are raging about it, too much XIII hate. Pretty good game, but they didn't need to make sequels.

This sounds exactly what I've been looking for. As you know I've only RPed in Star Wars, mainly as a Jedi and partly as a regular pilot. The pilot RP was my favorite, it might have been because the community was more friendlier and open-minded. I've always loved adventure plots, even if your character is dragged into one. My history hasn't been very good, full of missions that I couldn't feel connected to. As you guys have said, it's all down to preference. I've had my share of tavern RP and a mission that takes an army of people, but things like that I've done constantly. Time to change. Don't get me wrong, I like the occasional tavern RP. Just wanna get out, explore, have fun, rest at an inn. The kind of thing you'd expect from a FF story or any other JRPG. It's a fantasy and a game, some things are expected to be unreal. Some of us play to escape reality after all So if there's adventure RP to be had in XIV, even while leveling or on a break from it, I'm sold. Edit: And yes, drama, love it to an extent. Nothing forced but something that could impact a character's progression. Seen plenty of "My daddy was killed, I want revenge, bursts into tears". Sorry, not my cup of tea

Would you be interested in mentoring me and Xeon? Seems we're all in the same boat, I can share a bit of lore knowledge from what I've gathered, think we'll all learn from each other. I've got some ideas for RP so I suppose the three of us can gather in a skype chat and talk about this? Seems like a good opportunity.

Since I hadn't made a proper introduction and threw a few posts here and there, thought I'd make an intro now. --MMORPG background Haven't actually tried that many. First MMO I played was FFXI on the xbox 360, didn't have a gaming PC at the time. Tried WoW but gave up after my level 12 free trial was hacked. LoTRO, GW2, Star Trek Online, Mabinogi, SWTOR, Star Wars Galaxies, and various other F2P titles that I tried but couldn't get into. --RP experience First started RP about 5 years ago on Jedi Academy, had RPed as a Jedi most of my days. Then moved on to SWTOR, back to being a Jedi. Though my connection to RP was fading, and here I am hoping to get it back through FFXIV --Character ideas/info Haven't thought much about it, still a few months away. So far the character I want is a hyur, Flynn Rosenberg. Had heard Rosenberg was used in FFXII (which I've not played yet) so I'm not sure if it's even worth renaming, it popped up on a name generator. Definitely want his foster parent to be an old male lalafell. Any more ideas will pop up in time. --How did you learn about the coalition? Google --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Not exactly a heavy RPer, I like the casual and adventurous side. So medium. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) 23 years old, love anime, playing guitar, still looking for work. Been in and out of unemployment since college. All been agency work. Currently doing work experience at PC World (UK people will know). School wasn't the best, got an E in English and a D in Maths (and I suck at maths, how does that work out?), so I apologise for any grammar mistakes or constant use of the same words. And that's pretty much my intro. I know there's a poll later tomorrow but I'm up for joining a Legacy server on launch. If Yoshi does decide to tag an EU server with RP then, well, we'll just have to see. EU timezone is just more convenient for me, I don't really stay up until 3am or anything.
