On the topic of derplander... Him and the rest of his companions we see in all the CGI trailers are completely different characters to *the* WoL, our PCs. We even see them in an Echo flashback in 3.1, and since then they have turned emo since their encounter with the Ascian. We will soon learn more about them further into the 3.xx series. Here is proof that Derplander and his companions are different characters to ours. Your character is the WoL for the Scions and does not have a canon look. Derplander, the mascot, is not your character. Why do they use a hyur male that looks like him in the ingame trailers? Well they need a stand-in for our character, and even then that hyur is not the same hyur as Derplander. Different hair colour, eye colour, a moustache, he is the default look for the male midlander. Many games do this for their ingame videos. Sorry for being off topic. The point is, Derplander and his companions from the CGI trailers = Different WoLs, not related to ours. They may be like ours, but they're not.

Wouldn't get involved, though it would be impossible to have avoided him/her this whole time. Since we don't know canonly what the WoL looks like, they could be anyone our characters have passed by by now. As for interacting with them, my character has not. In the event that he has, he would be extremely vague about the identity to avoid the whole "I've met the WoL and know what they look like!" attention.

Dark RP = The stuff I want to stay away from when it's compared to rape, torture, broody, edgy, oooh so dark I love dark I'm friggin Batman. Mature RP = At first I never compared it to ERP, I just thought it meant RP for mature people, who aren't childish. Then again, you RP or you don't, quite simple. Wait, Heavy-RP is still a thing?

I don't really see where in the MSQ people are saying the WoL can understand Doman through the Echo. There's not a scene where a Doman NPC says "You can understand me?", I assume they speak the same language as Eorzeans. Just because they are Japanese inspired doesn't mean they speak Japanese. I'd like to see a full sentence spoken in Doman language, if they have any, to be proven otherwise.

Characters who ICly raid through Castrum and Imperial complexes solo like it's nothing. Fighting primals solo like it's nothing. Defeating Ultima Weapon like it's nothing. Soloing Coil like it's nothing. Doman RPers calling everyone senpai or sama or speaking Japanese saying hello like "herro" which I find really disturbing as Yugiri speaks English (or whatever language you have it set to) perfectly. Being from another dimension as if you've put on Oculus Rift and warped into the game. Changing name or killing off your character every few weeks. *looks for another grumpy list in the meantime*

Long paragraphs and narrating for attention. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some good writing, maybe too good. But in crowded areas I've seen paragraphs of emotes in one sentence that can be quickly missed when the chat box is spammed. As for narrating, like someone emoting everything they're thinking or had been doing that my character would not *see* or care to notice. Like, "Joe would lean against the rail, he is tired after being chased by mercenaries all day and hopes no one would walk up to him." No offence but I don't care what you were doing I would if our characters talked about it maybe *shrug* EDIT: Also characters who look/act like other characters from a movie/game/npc, too many Thancred clones and Y'shtolas and Dante from Devil May Cry

I'd understand it if someone wanted to RP as a non playable race for NPC purposes in a story, but yes I prefer to see who I'm RPing with. Sometimes the person has glamoured themselves as a playable race when they are an Au Ra or a Padjal (whatever they're called), or are a male miqo'te with a female body for feminine features, or a miqo'te with no ears or tail looking like a hyur, or.. the list goes on. Anyway that kind of stuff pushes me away. RP what you want but do think of the other players. Will they be able to see you as you are? Will you have to make it clear to everyone you RP with that your character isn't as what they appear as?

As a Free Paladin and Warrior in training, Flynn will react the same way he does with any weapon pointed at him. He'll be threatened, sure, but he's not gonna cry and beg on his knees just because someone has a gun (or gunbladed pulled out of their ass). He'll adapt and learn a workaround.

I'm hoping this would be enough to convince them that they sound really stupid Would also like to know what races come from Doma, since in the MSQ there are only hyur and Yugiri, but the Doma RPers I've came across are Miqo'te (Also also speak like an anime character)

It'd be interesting to see. I planned to have my character have some form of it last year but I never got around to it. But I think I'd have Flynn use it only when he needs to. Not likely to happen but if he was to fight a primal for the first time that would be when he uses the Echo. Or meeting some talking monsters and the group doesn't know what they're saying, he'll say "You can't understand them? How come I can?" but those are just examples. So.. maybe I'll use it, maybe I wont. I wont use it for attention or for godly powers, it's gotta be done right and realistically. At the end of the day, it's a Final Fantasy game. Impossible hair physics, giant swords and fat chocobos.

If it's in the game, I don't see why it shouldn't be lore. I would prefer if people used it and said they did to change race, none of the cliche "Accidentally drank some". But if the character used it to change a few unnoticeable features that could have been changed with the barber, theeeeen that would be a waste. If your character said they were experimented on or cursed with something and swapped spirits/bodies whatever.. I'd stay away, sorry, because you could have used a phantasia bottle IC instead. I dunno, go with it, just don't make it complicated. Next time you meet someone it'll hopefully go like "Did you change gender or something" "Yes, I got myself a fantasia potion. They're pretty rare" "Oh, okay. Dont need details, whatever floats your boat" done \o/
