Nomad flees an invasion and leaves his entire family behind. Feels a little guilty about it. 5. Office worker aspiring to nothing more than a promotion to middle management actually finds himself in real danger due to being really damn nosy. 6. Middle brother goes through shit and then has to babysit his bratty ass, younger sister for the rest of his life.

I've played a back office, paper pusher, armchair anthropologist who aspired to nothing more than middle management so he could buy another nice suit and it was actually really well received. I was told it was due to something so normal being so out of the ordinary. (I still play the "tiny businessman")

I've been looking for something similar myself. I know there are Ul'dah specific FCs out there (besides mine), but I guess they like to stick to themselves? Not sure. :?

Truthfully, I think you're preaching to the choir here. Most of those guilty of snapping up multiple residences aren't on this site (and often aren't rpers at all).

Hi Everyone! Our weekly RP event is moving to the FC house located in the Goblet Ward 11, Plot 27 (southeast shard, house is right there)! This is a casual, drop in RP event and open to anyone (you don't need to be a member of the LS to join). We have a bar/restaurant downstairs as well as a bar & venue in Room 4, a research library in Room 2, and a public Inn in Room 3.

I'm holding out for Burmecians myself. I don't use fantasias unless I'm replacing an unused character with someone I would like to play. I had used my two free fantasias on my gameplay main before I transferred her to Balmung and had to come up with an IC reason for being an Au Ra which was plausible (since I play as her brother too, who is still a Midlander). If I want to look at someone new, I make alts. Really... fantasias are just too expensive to buy. So I don't feel compelled to use them. lol.

I'm real curious about this RP life cycle and have been giving it a lot of thought recently. To me, it would go like so: 1. New patch drops, RP is low due to focus on new PvE etc. content. Overall population high from people returning for new content. 2. RP increases as people start grinding for gear and need breaks now and then. 3. Late patch lull. <--- This is when I would expect RP to skyrocket since we've gotten our gear/items/new stuff completed and have free time in game. But, as you've listed, this seems to be when many RPers disappear. Can anyone explain why RP doesn't explode during the late patch lull?

Mostly getting each role's gear set over 225 on my gameplay main and getting the main class for a couple other characters over that number. Closer to day of, I'll make note of the unlock locations for everything. Getting my two level 50ish characters through as much msq as I can before patch drops. Actually... just RP and yokai. ; u ;

1. We don't know if the character creation closure is due to how many active characters are on the server at any given time or the total number of characters ever created on that server, active or not. If the first, then why worry over alts on one account? They can only play one at a time, so aren't clogging up the server any more than a "one character only" player. If the latter, why be angry at your fellow RPers? Be angry at the scores of bots that are running around (remember, they get banned, not deleted, so allll their character info is still taking up space.) 2. Limited housing availability seems to be the primary complaint I'm seeing against this. If this was a non-issue, would you still be annoyed at someone's request to play more than 8 characters? Will having over 33k apartments per server help?

That's fine! I think we can clear a spot or two already. I just wanted to post that we will be doing a bigger clean out later this month. We do need you to reach out to one of the leaders in game, however (I'm not in game right now myself, but will be later this afternoon). There are many who have stated interest in joining in this thread that I've never been able to find online. :cry:

Hi Everyone, We are currently full! Closer to 3.4 patch day, we will be evaluating members for inactivity. The only way we can do this is by checking to see if the character's jobs are displayed in their user info (they don't show if the character hasn't logged in since the last maintenance.)(Also, YOSHIPLS... add the same 'date of last log in' functionality to linkshells as FCs have... TT_TT ). This means that characters who have yet to unlock a job over the next 2 weeks, but are actively played, may be incorrectly kicked from the linkshell. We ask that anyone with an active lowbie character reach out to us beforehand to say that you'd like to stay. If you are kicked by mistake, but would like to rejoin, you are welcome to do so. I want to add... 'active' simply means that character is actively played. We do not have any sort of chat quota expected of members. If folks just want to lurk, they are welcome too! :moogle:

We try to post event announcements to the Levelers LS if we're attending and anyone is welcome to come along. It may be a bit tough though for intimate RP since the chat scroll is real. (Kind of like any over-crowded party where you can't hear the guy standing next to you yelling in your ear. ) We also have a Wednesday evening drop-in RP thing at the Bramble Lodge, but attendance has been low due to the summer lull / people taking a break til 3.4. If it's something you may like, just mention it on the LS or to me through pm and I'll run over! You guys are both awesome and I'd love to hang out. <3 That sounds fun! And btw your LS is probably the biggest/only real bright spot we've really found on Balmung. I'd love to get a chance to get to know some of the people in the LS better. Thank you. What goes on downstairs or in one of the side rooms of the building is no concern of the owners... as long as everything is cleaned up afterwards. Of the Desert is a Free Company that manages the building. If you reside in Thanalan or visit the city often and would like to conduct your business in a private location, feel free to stop by Goblet ward 11, plot 27 (Southeast shard, first place on left). Hey guys, I'm looking specifically for any LS that is at least partly IC or for setting up RP for those who play multiple interconnected (or not) characters. I play 5 actively (either swapping between them in a single sitting or binge playing 1 character for a few days at a time); 3 of which are interconnected story wise, 2 others are loosely connected (3 are at 60; 2 are staring down the 2.1-2.55 tunnel). I fully realize (and have had it pointed out to me directly by others) that playing so many characters means less time on each, but this is a style I enjoy. SO... I am looking to hang out with others who have a similar RP playstyle. Do you know of any such linkshells or would there be interest in something like this if I make one? Thanks! :moogle:
