Red Lantern Society is tentatively opening it’s doors to players looking to explore content built by adults for adults. A delicate name inspired by the hanging crimson lanterns of Kugane’s own pleasure houses and districts, the Red Lantern Bordello serves as the focal point for the Society’s business – a brothel nestled in the quiet Lavender Beds, featuring breathtaking views both within and without. Founded and managed by Tsukiko Tanshi, an exile from the Far East who entered into the profession as a means of making sure both she and her father would never need to risk themselves in their refugee status, the business is built two-fold; to allow prostitutes, companions, and other variations of erotic workers or those who dabble in the business a place where they can work safely and without threat to their person, and giving those who have no place to go but offer skills that can support the brothel under the Silver Lotus Rehabilitation Clinic. Our desire as a free company is to add to the community in a positive manner; we’re adult-focused and aware of the stigma that comes with that, but we wish to bring together creative players and characters who are interested in not just participating in a brothel and rehabilitation atmosphere, but also engage with the community as a whole. We want to network, entertain, adventure, and just generally enjoy ourselves while maintaining high-quality interactions that leave those who choose to interact with us feeling comfortable about returning, and bringing friends. We are not an entertainment company in the grandest sense of the term. While we might hire a performer to entertain for a private party, we do not encourage the application of those who absolutely need a stage to stand on. We’re not a theater troop, we’re not a cabaret, we’re not a discotheque. Our entertainment comes in the form of quiet and intimate lounge nights where patrons can enjoy the company of those who work in the brothel, loaning out staff and services to other free companies who might need some extra hands for an event they’re running, exclusive and playful events where all business members can enjoy a night off while getting to know one another, and more – on top of the obvious. We’re small, and wish to remain such. We do not encourage the application of those who are looking for constant activity online – while we’re still figuring out just how many we want our ‘small’ to be, chances are that we will experience content and activity lulls harder than other free companies because we’re aiming for high quality over high quantity. We’re not looking for dramatics, and we are firm that our members are expected to maintain a positive face in the community, both in-game and on any media related to it. We’re adults entertaining adults, and expect all involved to behave as such. We’re currently looking for: ✓ Employees of all types - the dual aspect of the free company is intentional, as the business is built to be able to support itself while offering characters the opportunity to develop their own skills. Is your character someone who lost their job and needs a place to get some funds between work? A trader who knows how to find a good deal? A craftsman who needs a purpose? A mercenary who wouldn’t mind a stable bed and a good meal in exchange for keeping a few workers safe while they go about their duties? Get in touch! You do not have to play a sexual character to be in the free company, you just need to be okay with knowing it happens. ✓ Alliances and Associates – we’re out here to network and ally businesses together. We want to add flavor to other free companies with the same heart as us. Do your broody sea swabbies need a night of decompression at a comfortable place? Does your bar need a few pretty faces to sling drinks and get those meals out? Do you have a job that might need a bit more muscle than what you’ve got on hand? Look us up! We want to help build your stories and add to our own, and keep the world feeling a little more alive. ✓ Freelancers – already in a free company and don’t want to leave, but you want to explore that side of your character? Hey, we want to help that. Freelancers are pseudo-members of the business, and the pool that we dive into if we don’t have what a client needs, which is going to happen with our size. We don’t care what free company you’re in, even if it’s another adult business! We just want to help you get out there and have some fun in a different way. You’re never pressured to join, and you’re always able to decline an offered job. Get your role-play, even if it’s not your current FC’s focus! ✓ Community – we’re not interested in unfriendly competition. We know the market has plenty of adult-centered venues and free companies, and we want to work with them however we can to enrich everyone’s play. If we end up not being the right brothel for a prostitute or companion character, we want to be able to suggest another that might be more up their alley. When we have characters who have reached the point that it’s time to move on, we want to be able to help them connect with people who will keep that angle going, and we want to be on the list for people to feel good about doing the same with us. ✓ Roomies – if you’ve got yourself a character that is capable of making a room and you want to lend a hand, we’d love to take them in! Room assistants are OOC members (usually) who have kindly donated characters to help us build up private rooms that expand on the brothel and rehabilitation clinic, as we have a small plot and space is limited. We’re happy to help finance decorating, and have several crafters and gatherers on hand. Can’t think of an idea for a room but want to help? We’re constantly considering ideas, so if this interests you, just let us know! We’re not interested in: ✗ Drama & Gossips – we support in-character drama, we don’t endorse out-of-character dramatics. If you can’t play well with others, can’t share the limelight or take the time to help others who are struggling, you aren’t going to find a fit in the community we’re building. We are also very strict about our confidentiality and hold a ‘what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ mentality for a lot of what we do. What people come to us for is their business, and we expect our members to respect that. ✗ Underage Players/Characters – while we may sometimes run an event made for all ages (a good example is our Wolf & Rabbit hunt, which is a playful hide-and-seek in the open world), the business itself is by adults, for adults. We require anyone who enters into the building with the intention of interacting to be over the age of eighteen, both in-character and out, and this extends to prospective members as well. This extends to your guests, as well. Please, don’t put anyone in an uncomfortable situation, it’s not okay. ✗ Expecting Handouts – this is a big no-go. While we allow alternate characters as well as main characters, and characters of all levels, we’re not a parking space. Our small size comes with the expectation that those who want to be a part of the free company are willing to help build it up, and this goes even into Discord. We get that the head space for a character can leave as fast as it came around, but if the only time that you’re around is when there’s gil to be made or you show no participation in collaborative discussions, we’ll consider ourselves an ill fit and you’ll be dismissed. THE COURT OF MIRACLES. Good evening and welcome to my thread, as the title may suggest, I am recruiting for my LS "The Court of Miracles" To start this off, The Court is not an FC, I decided to keep it as LS so that people don't feel compelled to leave current FCs or such if they are interested in The Court and it's easier to deal with in my opinion. That said, if enough people join it and enough want it to be an FC I would be willing to start saving up for a house. Now that that's settled, let me tell you about about what the court is, Black Market Dealers, We are called the Court of Miracles because we can get our hands on just about anything (Crafters are very welcome) we fence items for people who may not know how to play with the MB and take a small cut from the proceeds. Rp wise The Court is treated as a Mafia type family, both IC and OOC I will expect members to be respectful to one another and to deal with any arguments in an adult manner. Dark themes and Mature content are a given, so please be aware that Murder and Violence will spring up, however, we are not an EVIL LS, we are mobsters, everything boils down to Money. I expect loyalty, I will not ask anyone to act against their FC unless that FC wants to do an event regarding the LS (Mob wars are always fun) I would prefer people to be loyal to the LS but if things move a certain way that you don't like and we can't come to an agreement or real life is getting in the way, there will be no hard feelings, so long as you communicate with me you will always have a spot in The Court. Path of the Rootless 'Path of the Rootless' is a Heavy RP Free Company on Omega (EU) server, with crime, mercenary work and adventuring as the main focus. We often dwelve into dark, mature themes, with a penchant for the realistically gritty and anything that can pack an emotional punch. Cutthroats, stray souls, broken wanderers, fugitives and all manners of individuals mildy fitting (or not at all) society can be a part of Path of the Rootless, for it reunites outcasts and those who have nowhere to be. Please remember that: --> We by no means advertise or promote dark themes on an OOC point of view, we are all perfectly healthy-minded people and everything we write and roleplay is strictly fictional. Thus, we seek to gather adult and mature roleplayers who are comfortable with certain jarring topics. Everything we write is entirely fictional. <-- Our RP focuses mostly in staying out of the main cities, even though they can represent a temporary stop where to rest, replenish our supplies and look for employment. This choice is due to our belief that Final Fantasy has a lot to offer in terms of enviroment, and often its potential is neglected or overlooked. Given how huge the world is and how wonderfully structured the landscapes are, we seek to make the best of it by threading beautiful stories across verdant lands, stormy seas and snowy mountains. Important: We have recently purchased a FC house, however, that is going to work as our main Headquarters. It's a good way to accomodate our members without "losing each other on the way" while travelling. After several months of experimental journeys, we have concluded that having a point of reference where to always go back to is a good policy to mantain a solid connection between social interactions. It is important to also point out that we are not a FC of isolationists. On the contrary, we from time to time advertise our current location to other Roleplayers (wherever we are, and wherever they are) to see if there is a chance to meet and RP. Being a low-profile group of law-breakers doesn't equal wanting to stay away from people. We do seek interaction with anyone willing to spend some time with us, be it for short-term or long-term plots. We appreciate everything. However, this happens seldomly. We are a heavily storyline-driven FC, rather than a casual-social FC. This means that while we have extremely strong social bonds between each other, we feel the paramount need to have a concrete storyline in our lives, something that drives our days, establishes our goals and leads us to places continuously. How do we RP? We RP both in-game and on Discord. Since we rarely linger in RP hubs, we organize ourselves to meet online at every chance we have, but we also RP a lot in our Discord channel. Sometimes being all online at once is difficult, so in order not to 'miss' on each other, we have text-RP channels on Discord where we can interact and have fun even without the obligation of being necessarily online. It allows everybody to keep up with the others and be always present and on the same page. We know that sometimes Real Life stands in the way of online activities, so our Discord RP channel make sure to never leave our members behind or cut outside the course of events. We also give an extremely high importance to the values of fairness and realism. As odd as it may be to speak of 'realism' in a game that is called Final Fantasy, such notion can be clarified by saying that we predilect what is sensical, likely, reasonable and based on common sense. Thus, nothing going close to powergaming, poweremoting and metagaming is practiced or tolerated. Also, we were thinking of working on a rolling system, but in the end we decided to handle IC combat and fights with a mix of common sense and the occasional /random in-game rolling. We like to keep it simple and to give space to free narrative and storytelling, without too many numbers in the way. What can you expect from us? A group of individuals that has been roleplaying for several years and that believes in a drama-free enviroment. We are all adults, we have gone through our happy and rough times, and now we just want to have fun. We are open-minded, we laugh, we joke, we do our best to accomodate each other and collaborate. It can be easily said that we are an extremely chill bunch with a very relaxed and friendly attitude. We do strive to RP everyday, either in-game or on Discord, and sometimes there are tiny hints of PvE amidst our activities. However, let it be clear that we are mostly and above all a Roleplay FC. That is the paramount purpose as of why this guild was created in the first place. Nevertheless, rest assured that you will find welcoming people in this FC who will do their damnest to make you feel integrated and part of the whole story. We give understading, kindness and reasonability but we also expect the same in return. A successful relationship is always a matter of team-work, after all! If you are considering joining us, however, we ask you to take your joining with a moderate amount of seriousness: since we give plenty of attention to newcomers, we are going to channel a lot of efforts in creating something that will make your introduction important and smooth. So, you are not left on your own to elbow your way into RP, but you actively discuss with the FC Leader about a possible fitting story that will tie you to the rest of us. Since there is much dedication on our side, and much effort done towards you, we ask you to be thoughtful of it and join us only if you're really sure of your commitment, to make our efforts and time towards you worth it.
