Things Your Character Is Tired of Hearing

Xavarian just hates this. Because

1) it implies people think he is in his workroom all day, squandering time, life in general, and not going out to see the world, when in fact he most certainly is out and about frequently, (just not when most people are awake,) and

2) it implies that they have any say about what he should or shouldn't be doing. Which, no. He does what he wants, you aren't his real dad. He will fight you with his pouting, nerdery, and accidental immolations, you can't tell him what to do.

 

Even better was that every single time someone has said this to him he was never in his room. The lack of common sense baffles him.

 

Xavarian's also real sick of loud noises of all kinds, but that probably won't be going away.

Excessive use of the words little, small, wee, etc. Yeah, Jajara is a lalafell, and she's surrounded by tall freaks. She gets it. Eorzea is a weird place.

 

On Delial's side, it's mostly arguments contrary to whatever advice she might have the heart to dispense for that day. Also, "You should stop drinking."

 

EDIT: Also, "Maybe you should take care of that eye! I know a guy if you ever change your mind..."

Let's get something straight, here. Edgar is well aware how fucking heavy someone as tall and bulky as the Roegadyn would be. He is not blind...Well, partly, he is, but you get the point, and he is definitely not stupid. He knows how physics work; If you slam a boulder on an egg, it will burst. Simple.

 

But this is why there are a million and one sexual positions. For when the woman is on the bottom. So, naturally, when Ed hears a Femroe say something like this, his opinion of their actual sexual experience and overall intelligence goes down. 

 

 

 

For Koporo:

 

"Do you always talk like that?"

 

You would think, at this point, it would be clear to anyone that if someone has a particular accent, speech impediment, or general issue with getting words out, they cannot turn it off. Of course Kopo always talks like that.

"You can help by just being you." or something to that effect.

 

Usually said whenever Ember asks if she can help someone, often during dangerous situations. Ember is often regarded as affectionate, cheerful, naive, and innocent. A lot of characters don't want her to get involved in dangerous situations for that reason. They probably also legitimately believe that Ember helps by being happy and loving.

 

However, it also frustrates her because she wants to do more for her friends. She doesn't think of herself as actually helping unless she is actually involved.

Ki is a true mercenary and has one IC pet peeve that normally goes like this:

 

Ki: "Just so you know, I'll shoot you in the back if someone offers me gil too."

 

One of many people who hire him:  "Course you would." (Totally disbelieving)

 

(Later)

 

Ki pulls out pistol and shoots employer.

 

One of the people that have hired Ki and been shot in the back: "WHY?!"

 

Ki: "I FREAKIN' TOLD YOU ALREADY!"

 

 

But OOC, I am a little amused by constantly hearing in /tells:

 

"God, Ki would be so hot if he would just shut up."

To which he replies:

"I'm not a drunkard...I just like to drink. There's a difference."

 

 

Dracyn is a functional alcoholic...something that many of his loved ones seem to want to overlook. Much to his annoyance.

This sounds familiar to Mikh'a. >_>

 

But what Mikh'a is most tired of hearing is how his optimistic view on life, how he believes there is good in everyone and if you work hard enough you can make everything better, and how it's not all grime and drudgery and it can get better and he can make it better. That it's not okay to trust and be open and reach out.

 

Why can't he just make friends with everyone and not have to worry about someone trying to teach him a life lesson by saying he'll get stabbed in the back or shot, thanks Ki. His optimism is not a crutch! D:

 

He literally hears, "You're wrong, and I hope that you've got plenty of people to watch your back when the time comes, otherwise you're going to die." a lot. THANKS GUYS.
