Hello Fellow players, this thread is to discuss how we have no lives and will be waking up at strange hours, or taking time off from work to play this game.

 

I myself am taking Friday - Tuesday off of work, and will be getting up at 2am to play the patch. Who knows when I will fall asleep. Does anything else have no life? Or am I the only one doing this.

Filthy, glorious socialism means that here in the UK, my employer is paying me a week's wages to sit at home in my bra and Sonic PJ bottoms, wolfing down pop tarts while I make the push to 60. If maintenance goes to plan, servers reopen at 9AM Friday morning. You better believe I'll be there, obsessively reclicking at 8:59AM.

I had about 5 weeks paid holiday to use up so... 3 weeks starting today of paid time off! That and 2 more weeks in August. God bless the UK and its paid holiday goodness!

As an employee of the local school system, I have the 19th already off (we go to 4-day workweeks this time of year), and I am considered an 11-month employee, which means I have a month off starting a few days after that. I might fall behind a few of you on the 22nd to the 24th, but I will have more than plenty of time to catch up right after that.

 

Some friends of mine are talking about staying up during the late night server downtime to play some online Cards Against Humanity, and hit the game running right after it opens again.

Sadly I won't be able to stay on long after initial early access.  The weekends are when me my roommate and our best buds find a public spot to go act stupid at like the mall or maybe go to the movies.

 

Which sucks because a lot of times I wound up having to talk our way out of being arrested for public annoyances.

I'm not really changing anything. I'll likely be playing a fair amount during the early access weekend, but that's not much different than my normal play schedule.

 

I play 14 because it's fun and relaxing. I don't have any desire to burn through content. Years of playing WoW that way made me really lose my appreciation for the game and the world, and ultimately lead me to not enjoying it anymore. I did that with 14, too, when it relaunched for 2.0 and it burnt me out very quickly.

 

So this time? Going to take it slow, enjoy the quests, trying out new classes, and take my sweet time with everything.

I specifically took my entire weeks vacation time for this expansion. I have from the friday of early release off till the next friday off. Gonna hit that expac so hard.

So, uh I'll just be nolifing it on the weekend, and even then I got the bi-weekly to attend. ugh.

He sounds like an incredibly self-centred person. I'd remove him from your life right away and remind yourself of your true priorities. FFXIV is all you need.

First of all... Poopsocks? Ew!

 

Second, I am so ready. I'm just worried the server is going to break and there will be endless queues and errors all weekend due to the server capacity overload that'll surely happen.

Oh and I'll probably be going "Why didn't I make a placeholder character when I had the chance?!" while constantly refreshing the server list in the character creator.  That part is starting to turn into a holiday tradition for me now.

Unless they release naming conventions in time for me to make one before patch, in which case I will be very happy.

I'm just hoping that there wont be loads of server issues. Early access may be pretty bearable but once the floodgates open during the official launch...

 

I'm free all day Friday but I'm likely visiting family on Saturday which means I won't be able to play most of that day. Sunday I'm free and then I'm busy Monday morning but have the rest of the day available.

 

So all in all I'm pretty pleased with my schedule for the early access period.
