Telluride Posted June 16, 2015 Share #26 Posted June 16, 2015 I just said it in another thread elsewhere today, soooo.... I work for the IT department for my local school district, mostly handling the quick n' dirty stuff and creating dispatch tickets for anything that requires an in-person visit. I'm on the office-bound part of the team, which gives me time between issues, and during slower parts of the year, to keep up with this and that in gaming. However, I used to be an English/Composition/Literature teacher for a long time, and have done adjunct/associate work in three different schools over that time. I liked the college lifestyle, and made great strides in my specialties, but a lot of changes in the way my state handles things have drastically increased workloads on teachers while at the same time reducing opportunities, eliminating many positions and raising stress levels with no increase in pay. It's the line of work I went to school for... but I don't really miss it anymore. Link to comment

Ryanti Posted June 16, 2015 Share #30 Posted June 16, 2015 I just graduated. Marketing Major. I had an internship set up to work for a Financial Advising firm, but that fell apart because the owner of the company had a massive heart attack and that shook everything up. So now I'm just unemployed and looking for a plan B. Which is challenging where I live with my studies and that's why I want to move. I could easily pursue a sales job but a good amount of them are full commission, which doesn't pay the bills. What I really want is to work at an advertising agency. I'm going to a career fair soon to see if I can get anything. I just hope to find work soon. I feel terrible knowing that I'm not working yet. Link to comment

Griffith! Posted June 16, 2015 Share #34 Posted June 16, 2015 I'm a freelance writer. I've done a few articles for various publications and websites, and ghost-written a few more for especially busy staff writers at the local paper. I've even been tricked into writing a couple essays for local college students, who pay surprisingly well for cheaters. In fact, the last girl got a commendation from the teacher, encouraging her to 'pursue publishing'. These days I'm trying to break into fiction, though short stories - the format to which I'm accustomed - don't seem to sell well. There's just not a huge market for them anymore and plenty of competition from proven authors. I have not sold a single non-non-fiction story yet. And writing novels is just, like, super hard. Asmodean Posted June 16, 2015 Share #40 Posted June 16, 2015 A UPS package handler here, package handler is code for loader. I'm the guy who loads all the eighteen wheels you see on the highways. A tiring job with it only being part time for now but the money and the union make it worth it. I also have a part time busboy job at the local dinner which I have had over nine years now. Could be a waiter but I learned quick... people plus food equals the single most angry ass you would ever met. Both leave me little time aside from the weekend to enjoy the RP but what I have gotten to enjoy, especially the past week's, have made me remember if I don't know face to face, I'll probable like something about you. 1 Link to comment
CallmeYahweh Posted June 16, 2015 Share #41 Posted June 16, 2015 Freelance editor and author first, and foremost. I write when I can (though its fallen off recently.) about what I can, and get paid for these things. I've worked in the past for a fetish webcomic, edited literary magazines, and been published in Bards & Sages, Strange Horizons, Glimmertrain, and a number of other locations. Currently I'm working on my debut novel. During the day I'm a child development specialist working with at-risk teens. Basically one half psychologist, one half baby sitter. It's singlehandedly both the worst, and the best job I've ever had. 1 Link to comment

But we do sell pre-owned Rolexes. My particular company isn't a certified Rolex dealer, but our sister store is, and we get trade-ins from them.
