I actually find PvP in this game to be quite a lot of fun. It has it's flaws, though, so I'm hoping this new mode will address them and have more lasting power than the PvP content that came before it. I'd be a lot more willing to sign up for PvP on a more frequent basis if not for the current queue times, GC restrictions and the age old predicament of losing constantly as Adders only to see them get a lucky winning streak the moment I switch to Flames or Maelstrom.

 

That they're making PvP more competitive with meaningful rewards and 'seasonal' ranks should help counter the risk of stagnation though.

 

I uh... stopped playing over a year ago in pvp cause the queue times for me got insane. Then the one time I got a queue I got reamed on when I said I didn't know how to do one of the new types of frontlines? Several of us in one alliance said we didn't know what to do. Go where? Etc. Nothing was said except 'you dumb fuckers costing us the game. why the fuck aren't you doing this shit right.' /shrug

 

I tried and died a bunch of times ;

Yeah, they said something a while back about fixing Wolves' Den or there being a whole new one. Though, does Feast have ranked teams already? Not sure what to add to the Den other than rankings. /shrug.

Divine Veil The protective barrier that is cast on all party members within range when you receive a healing spell now activates even when healing yourself.

Recast time reduced from 150 seconds to 120 seconds.

 

I only have PLD at 52, but is the barrier triggered by this ability directly related to the amount of healing received? If not then I can see slotting in Cure as an extra to this and enmity generation but... yeah, lol CNJ crossclass.

These paladin adjustments will sate me for now. Shame if Clemency still breaks combo, but being able to proc our own damned shield will be nice for telegraphed big hits.

I like what I'm seeing as far as changes to Machinist. As for the gear... I think the Midas looks better then the primal ones. Why'd BRD/MCH have to be Levi?! All the Dex folks lumped together yet again.

This entire patch could just consist of the wind-up Leviathan alone and I'd be pleased as punch. Still, I'm super excited for literally everything else, too!! New dungeons, new old gear to dye brown, Summoner buffs..!

 

Fyrilsunn and I want to be mentors, but I'd have to level a tank and he'd have to level, well, Arcanist, because he needs a DPS and a healing class. I think we'll do that so Shopu and Fyril can dress up as eachother for the next All Saints' Wake! :lol:

So, PLD has the highest potency attack in the game now. Goring Blade's total potency is a whopping 640 now. It doesn't really account for buffs, but... that's still impressive. It's even more than Chaos Thrust, and it's used more often.
