Salty Lake Posted July 14, 2013 Share #76 Posted July 14, 2013 Would folks who are playing roegadyn females in beta phase 3 be willing to post screenshots of their characters in different armors? I am playing a roegadyn conjurer right now and I love her, but I think the lowbie mage armor doesn't look very cute on her. See: mittens and knee-high Uggs! May switch to a mi'quote boy in phase 4. Sapphos Posted July 14, 2013 Share #77 Posted July 14, 2013 I'll post my Roe, I'm trying to decide if I like the way she looks? I'm thinking of RPing her. Link to comment
Salty Lake Posted July 14, 2013 Share #78 Posted July 14, 2013 PS... I have been looking for lady Roe's on the Lodestone but can't figure out how to search by race. Link to comment
Xerek Devereux Posted July 14, 2013 Share #79 Posted July 14, 2013 Female Roe are beautiful. You're running into several issues. First, Roe are not Barbies. Plain and simple. Many people look for small, thin, petite women as their mark of beauty (RL as well). The Roe are anything but. This, I think, is the biggest deterrent for many. On the flipside, a lot of people (in a RP setting) will find Roe intimidating, and by extension unattractive. Finally, also from a roleplay standpoint, you can't just "peg" them into a stereotype. Let's be honest, the other races fall into stereotypes from a million other sources. You got your elves and humans, your nekos and your adorable lil child-like people. But the Roe don't fit nicely into anything. For me, that is a strong positive, but many RPers will see it differently. As you can likely tell by now, I don't fall into that camp. I find Roe amazing, and their females beautiful. (Xerek is Hyur simply because I have had this character waiting on the back-burner for years and I love him). I see *many* great RPing opportunities, especially given Xerek's shy nature, and love seeing what the community here ultimately brings to the table. Loving the screenshots all. You're doing a great job showing off how attractive the Roe can be. :moogle: Link to comment

Jijinji Posted July 14, 2013 Share #81 Posted July 14, 2013 I like giantesk races I usually play as one if it's a available choice as they are the least played making them unique. Roe women can look very beautiful if you take the time when making them. Which I'm not particularly good at, but I have seen some very good looking ones. Link to comment
Chakha Malqir Posted July 14, 2013 Share #82 Posted July 14, 2013 I think men and women of all races should be celebrated the same way! A Roegadyn female should get as much love and respect as a Miqo'te female or an Elezen Female or any other race out there! One of my characters' godparents happens to be a Roegadyn Female fisherwoman and one of the toughest and most charming women he has ever met! Link to comment
rynshun Posted July 14, 2013 Share #84 Posted July 14, 2013 My friend is going to be roleplaying asa Reogadyn female. We spent a night making her on a video chat (she doesn't have beta access) and sorted the details. I have no issues with them but not my preference. But she loves them and thinks they are really cool. Link to comment

Here's my Roegadame in most of the level 15 caster dungeon set. (Missing the leg item so please ignore the awkwardly colored tights, haha) This set looks pretty fantastic on everyone though. Actually I think those mittens are silly on all the races! However, I think the disciplines of war armor looks great on Roe women. I am a lady offline so I am acquainted with female beauty standards. In fact, the opportunity to play a big, muscular woman is refreshing. Torn Sky, your character is lovely! That is a great armor-set too. Link to comment

LeCard Posted July 15, 2013 Share #88 Posted July 15, 2013 I was playing around with Roe character creation after reading this thread and here is what I came up with. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/images/thumb/2/24/Ffxiv_20130714_221332.png/800px-Ffxiv_20130714_221332.png[/img]http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/images/thumb/e/ea/Ffxiv_20130714_221313.png/800px-Ffxiv_20130714_221313.png[/img] I may have to work on an alt with this build. i like it more, the more i look at it. SereneAurora Posted July 15, 2013 Share #89 Posted July 15, 2013 My only planned character will be roegadyn female! When I start new MMOs, I typically like to play whichever race is the most rare while still being tall and semi-pretty, meaning I don't play dwarves and gnome types. In 1.0 I played female elezen, but with the female roegadyn now offered that's where I'll be! It is a shame that they went through all the work to code and design these lovely ladies and they'll barely be used. Aiora WhiteWind, Hellsguard: Now I just have to hope there will be plenty of roegadyn men around, too! ~Aiora Link to comment
Ruby Posted July 15, 2013 Share #90 Posted July 15, 2013 My original character was an elezen but I'm changing her to female roegadyn. I might still tweak minor things like perhaps another eye color or make her skin one tone lighter in the character creator. Link to comment
Fenrir Posted July 15, 2013 Share #91 Posted July 15, 2013 There is no category in which female Roegadyns do not, ahem, tower above all others. Link to comment
SereneAurora Posted July 15, 2013 Share #92 Posted July 15, 2013 The amusing thing is that a short roegadyn female is still a wee bit shorter than hyur highlander males. Pretty sure a tall midlander is about head to head with a short roe woman. Many elezen males are also taller. So we don't have to be GIANTS. Unless you're a lalafell or miqo'te. Then I crush you. ~Aio Link to comment

Here is my Roe Female Size Queen. I'll be on Balmug and will RP if I can find a group. She is max height and is a bruiser that lives up to her name. I got so into beta I neglected to take a screen of her in armor, but you can get an idea from my lodestone page. Search for Size Queen on Balmug. Link to comment
Dogberry Posted July 16, 2013 Share #94 Posted July 16, 2013 My wife wanted to log in and make a character during phase 3, and just before I logged off for the last time on Sunday, she made me take a bunch of pictures of her character. When I asked her what she was going to make, she said "I don't know, something gorgeous." Of course, being the Kain Highwind fangirl she is, I automatically knew she'd make a Lancer. This is Qimaphela Domina. So tsundere... Link to comment
airlily Posted August 1, 2013 Share #95 Posted August 1, 2013 They do look frumpy in those low-level robes, but, then again, who doesn't? Even the poor Miqo'te fems are made to almost look like they have bigger versions of Lala bodies. Roes are cool. Pick a character that you like and worry about the gear later. 5ZYbA81Dlsw Link to comment

Myxie Tryxle Posted August 3, 2013 Share #97 Posted August 3, 2013 I created this look. I want to make her, but I don't know what I want to make her. The eyes are giving kind of an ice princess vibe. Like she has a cold, black heart to match her hair. (Or I'm just reading that into her, because I just posted on the villains thread that there need to be more Roegadyn villain pics.) Link to comment
Grinner Posted August 3, 2013 Share #98 Posted August 3, 2013 I have a vague concept, not necessarily villainous, but definitely morally ambiguous. Link to comment
xaaniko Posted August 3, 2013 Share #99 Posted August 3, 2013 From months ago I knew I was going to make my main a Roegadyn female (as you can see from my avatar picture). I'm a big fan of Norse lore (being a heathen myself) and they really appealed to me, being based of Frost and Fire giants. They also represented (like the Highlanders do) a really 'western' representation to the world of Eorzea, which I think results in a more interesting mix of races. So it doesn't matter that they are under represented by the vast majority of players because this is an RP community which results in much more interesting characters regardless. Also, it makes your character far more likely to stand out. Link to comment
Felix Sideris Posted August 3, 2013 Share #100 Posted August 3, 2013 Well, based on the polls there are very few of us who will be playing Roegadyn, let alone female Roegadyn! I was just wondering why most of y'all don't favor them? Just curious Also, I was wondering if I should just end up RP'ing as one because of the lack of them! Well, I'm a guy.. so I also prefer to play male characters.. But Male Roegadyn? Too big for me. I don't like giant characters. I always lean towards the more human-esque or elven races. In WoW I couldn't bring myself to RP on Draenei/Orc/Tauren, but I did on both of the elven races, humans and forsaken. -shrug- That is just me, anyway. Link to comment
