Steel Wolf Posted February 1, 2015 Share #26 Posted February 1, 2015 I'm just sittin' here like "where my Irvine duds, yo?" I'd kill for a Quistis dress. And a whip. .....okay maybe just the whip. :> 1 Link to comment
TheLastCandle Posted February 1, 2015 Share #27 Posted February 1, 2015 Far more important: is it just me, or does anyone else see a couple new hairstyles in that screenie? Yeah, the ponytail is coming next patch. It's Irina's hair from The Last Remnant, to complement the Rush Sykes hair we got in 2.5 Link to comment

Dravus Posted February 1, 2015 Share #31 Posted February 1, 2015 It's alright, I guess. Not something I can see my character wearing. Though there's very little room to complain when it comes to free stuff. We're apparently getting Setzer's outfit from the Gold Saucer so I'm more excited about that. I'd also love Seifer's or Balthier's attire to be added at some point. Link to comment

Sounsyy Posted February 1, 2015 Share #34 Posted February 1, 2015 I would LOVE to have Balthier's outfit. Best FF character outfit ever. 1 Link to comment
Dat Oni Posted February 1, 2015 Share #35 Posted February 1, 2015 Women need Faris' outfit from FFV. Before Cloud dressed as a girly girl, Faris was a transvestite dressing as a man. I'm sure this would appeal to a lot of the tomboy players out there. 1 Link to comment
SM Nick Posted February 1, 2015 Share #36 Posted February 1, 2015 I kinda don't understand how this affects the snow coat? No one would wear them anymore in favor of Cloud's outfit? Link to comment
Dravus Posted February 1, 2015 Share #37 Posted February 1, 2015 I kinda don't understand how this affects the snow coat? No one would wear them anymore in favor of Cloud's outfit? I assume it's to do with the habit of many players in FFXIV's community latching onto whatever is considered to be new and flashy at the time. Or just having very predictable trends! Nothing wrong with it, but it can be amusing to make a few playful jests at their expense. Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted February 1, 2015 Share #38 Posted February 1, 2015 I just hope it's not too difficult/tedious to obtain. I just hope it's casino related rather than Triple Triad. Link to comment
Seriphyn Posted February 1, 2015 Share #39 Posted February 1, 2015 I have to wonder what's wrong wearing in-universe clothing. You know, as individuals of Eorzea and all that... Why not just go play FF7 and FF13, then? Bah.../grumble Link to comment

I'm sure this would appeal to a lot of the tomboy players out there. Amusingly (and kind of frustratingly), LOADS of the fan art out there plays up her feminine side and/or gives her ginormous boobs, which, yeah, pretty much defeats the whole point of dressing her up in masculine/androgynous clothing. Relevant picture. Most depictions are closer to the right side (our right). The left side is closer to canon. 'Nother bit of fan art (by the same artist): I should also mention that I am tickled by the fact that the game still gets fan art this many years past its prime. Talk about long legs... Edit: You know what? Have some more! And another! Man, all these years and people still can't agree on what their actual hair colors are supposed to be. Heh. 16-bit limitations are a pain. Faye Posted February 1, 2015 Share #44 Posted February 1, 2015 *shakes fist* Guh, I hate having more clothing options! Free things piss me off, GUUUHHH!! It's not really much whining about free stuff (Which is kinda not. Requires you to pay the game for two years, which I would do gladly, but still) and more shoving more FF7 stuff on my face, which Square loves to do, but I digress. I kinda hope no one is subbing (for two whole years, especially) just for Veteran's Rewards, because if anyone's that silly, that's totally on them. The rewards aren't really a necessary/expected part of FFXIV, or any MMO experience. It's just SE's way to thank people for subbing and extra incentive for folks to keep up their sub even when they maybe can't play for a month or something. Link to comment
allgivenover Posted February 1, 2015 Share #45 Posted February 1, 2015 Faris was a transvestite dressing as a man. Transvestite has a sexual fetish connotation focused on gendered clothing that doesn't apply to Faris. She was a woman living among pirates that hid her gender for her own safety, not because she got a sexual kick out of masquerading as a man. Although during the ending she's very uncomfortable wearing a dress I think that's more because she doesn't like the idea of being forced into a gender stereotype she doesn't agree with. In and of itself a transvestite is simply someone who feels comfortable in the clothing of the opposite gender. There are people that fetishise it, true, but there are people that fetishise feet. Kellach Woods Posted February 2, 2015 Share #50 Posted February 2, 2015 There's an easy solution to that : Stop going to the Quicksand. That being said, I'm not entirely opposed to free stuff and more importantly I guess this would be a cool reward if you've been subscribed for 2 years. I'm just not happy that it's yet another FF7 related thing. Link to comment
