From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist
One of Madame Pholnaset's shadier operations involves brokering Leve jobs for those unwilling or unable to do so themselves. There are no background checks of any kind regarding the potential Leve taker or the client requesting help. The big selling point for fresh-faced adventurers, and also the greatest point of contention for her detractors, is that there's no testing Leve required to verify the skill level of the adventurer. Among sanctioned Levemetes this is widely regarded as reckless, irresponsible, abhorrent, shameless and ill-advised. She sometimes accompanies those who take on Leve quests from her but that does little to mend the breach of principle. Madame Pholnaset insists that she comes by her Leves legally and that there's no law against enlisting aid and dividing the profits with those who help. When there's a rush of adventurer's approaching a Leve dealer, or a customer hits their request limit, Madame Pholnaset swoops in to cut deals with the overflow. Sometimes if she needs to broker Leves in a more clandestine fashion she slips them inside an imitation astrologian weapon. -
Ogeshna was the oldest of five children with the second oldest being eight years younger than herself. Raised in a nomadic family of hunters she was often charged with looking after her siblings and other small children who traveled with their caravan. When the Garleans began their incursion into Eorzea Ogeshna's normally reclusive family sent her to aid the Eorzean Alliance as their representative and champion. Ogeshna tried her best to aid and protect her brothers and sisters in arms. Those she served under made good use of her preference for the bowstaff and her size which gave her considerable reach. Ogeshna was selfless, which was good, but she was also fearless when it came to herself which was a potential problem. This was offset by one of her comrades, a Lalafell thaumaturge named Baboba. The two worked very well together and learned from one another during their campaigns. During The Battle of Carteneau Ogeshna saw many who served with her lose their lives and despite her best efforts she was only able to protect three out of the eighteen company members before being knocked into a coma. Baboba, who she was separated from, was saved by an adventurer who sacrificed all to save him. As with many Eorzeans this experience, along with the unfathomable salvation and restoration of the realm, changed Ogeshna and Baboba forever. Ogeshna woke up years later and while many had been through their healing process and moved on she was only just beginning to process what had happened. Baboba took up conjuration in his home city of New Gridania with his daughter, Mindula, and where his friend Ogeshna was being cared for. Seeing so many suffer and not be able to mend them left a lasting impression on him and he vowed that would never happen again. When Ogeshna awoke she knew that strength had left her and believed her time as a warrior had come and gone. This depression was augmented by the revelation that her family did not survive The Calamity. With her people and their way of life gone she lacked focus, direction and the drive to move forward, except for not wanting to let Baboba down again. In Mindula's heartfelt dreams of becoming an adventurer who helps and heals those in need, like her father, Ogeshna saw something of her younger self. She began watching over the academically determined Lalafell during her outings and handing down whatever advice she felt might be helpful. By offering company, guidance and venturing out into the world again Ogeshna's long road to recovery had finally begun.

From the album: Ogeshna
Although Ogeshna presently trains with a practice staff her weapon of choice during her glory days was a fiery slab of rock named Moeru Yama. She still has the weapon but it's been out of use and out of repair for several years. To add to this Ogeshna isn't restored enough to wield it effectively in combat. -
From the album: Ogeshna
Once incorrectly referred to by a Kobold as being a "Roedagrim" Ogeshna's company members decided to nickname her Ogeshna The Grim due to her imposing presence on the battlefield. Ogeshna has a long way to go before she's the warrior she once was and she sometimes gets discouraged. Fortunately her interactions with both hopeful and seasoned adventurers help rekindle her determination. -

There's no problem at all. You can visit the Balmung server to join in on the RP events by selecting the World Visit option at the major city state aetherytes (Limsa Lominsa, New Gridania or Ul'dah).

Welcome to the RPC Mai o/ I'm sorry that things aren't working out so well with your current FC.

Which Data Center will you be using? If you're creating a character on a North American Data Center then Crystal is the most popular choice for RPing. You won't have to worry as much about the server selection since you'll be able to visit any server on your chosen Data Center. That being said, servers which have a gold star next to them are currently listed as preferred server. So if you make a character on them you'll get an experience boost from level 1 to 70.

Welcome to FFXIV and the RPC A popular recommendation I've heard is to observe RPing in the game to get an idea of how it normally flows. It'll help familiarize you with the use of some basic RP typing conventions such as the use of /emote when your character is performing an action or brackets (( when typing something out of character )). There's a Making Connections section here as well where people post information about their characters and the type of RP they're looking for.

It may look as though Madame Pholnaset is able to cast an incredible aesthetic glamour on her chocobo, Menfeek, but it's actually an elaborate illusion. Madame Pholnaset is an accomplished illusionist and aetherologist, but for her purposes casting such extreme spells on others requires knowledge about the person's weight, aether composition, vocal range if it needs tweaking, etc. This isn't a problem when it comes to Menfeek since she knows all about her feathered companion, and she's merely casting an illusion as appose to altering the chocobo's actual physical dimensions. There are limits though; the further away the subject the harder it is to maintain the illusion, so Madame Pholnaset usually releases the mirage once the ride is over and her pompous entrance has been made. This is especially so if the illusion is very complex. -
Welcome back to FFXIV Razzle! I hope you like the lore behind the Lalafells and have fun RPing one.

From the album: Vanta Noir
These are some common clothing combinations that Vanta wears during casual situations. OOCly the outfit on the right is one of my favorites for Vanta because the grey shades and sharp shoulder cuts give her a slight Romulan look. Fitting since that race of space elves from Star Trek inspired much of her design. -
Born and raised in the 'docklands' of La Noscea Vanta spent much of her youth bouncing between Aleport and Moraby Docks which granted her considerably exposure to various cultures and goods. Born to an Elezen mother and Hyur father, who are practicing morticians, Vanta grew up in a house that was also a registered funeral home. Such an environment had an obvious effect on her development, though not necessarily a negative one. Her childhood friendship with a Hyur who often worked with her parents lab animals and had to bury them when they died further coloured Vanta's view of the world. She became fascinated with insect life, various vermin and the study of physical decay. She was able to ply some of this interest in the later as she studied to become an alchemist and arcanist. Like many she lost much during and after The Calamity. Loved ones, friendships and what little respect she had for some of the city state leadership. Despite her seemingly callous personality and outlook she has great respect for life, she just doesn't recoil from the realities of death.

Welcome aboard @ariasune If it helps soften the blow there are a few preferred serves on the Crystal data center which have experience bonuses at the moment, so you'll be able to rocket your new character's level progression! \o/ I think Mateus is currently listed as a preferred server.

As a fledgling student of blue magic under the instruction of The Blue Moon Madame Pholnaset has adopted a less pretentious (though no less ridiculous) garment for the job than what she had before. In addition to this her penchant for overcompensation and love of theatricality are on full display as she glamours all of her other outfits blue when practicing blue magic. To the less informed she plays this up as something significant (although it's not) and spins self-invented jargon about how it reflects her blue magic proficiency (although it doesn't). -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Because Vanta tends to have a relaxed, subtle smile, and her large eyes often have a sleepy out-of-focus look to them, it can be hard to get a reading on her face. Even her body language gives little away most of the time as she has a tendency to remain stationary like a mythical tree person until suddenly, yet slowly, making a move. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Parents normally teach their children to play nice with others and be gentle with pets and such. This takes on an added sense of urgency when the child is very large. It's possible that this is one of the reasons some grow up to be gentle giants as is the case with Vanta. She posses a gentle touch which was later honed to deftness by her interest in mortician makeup, painting and alchemy. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Vanta loves to daydream and sleep. She once practiced lucid dreaming for almost an entire year but stopped because it was freaking out her roommate. Now that she's living alone she's thinking of taking it up again. Vanta's parents deduced that her love of resting stemmed from her body's gigantism as she was moving around more weight than others in her family relative to her age. The jealously tax of gravity didn't help matters any. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Vanta's personality may take a little getting used to as she's not one to mince words. She's generally a respectful person though and by default she often seems to have a Mona Lisa-esque smile on her face. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Vanta sometimes exudes a darker, more serious energy than she means to and it's not due to her clothing. She could be dressed up as Babe Ruth or Micky Mouse and the result would be the same. It's mostly her eyes. To paraphrase Quint from the movie Jaws she's got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. She also has a slow ease of movement like a monster who takes their time pursuing their prey. Add to this her towering stature and inadvertent 'nothing effects me' energy and you've got a cocktail of subliminal miscommunication. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
When you ask for a splash of colour or something with a lighter mood this is what you get from Vanta. Rather than roll around in a puddle of the rainbow Vanta relies on more elegant and sweepingly expressive cuts and patterns to liven up her choice of attire. So these outfits aren't super colourful but they're definitely more upbeat than her ultra goth attire. -
From the album: Vanta Noir
Vanta doesn't dress in as dramatic a fashion as she used to but she still has a few ensembles with a classic goth look to them. While not opposed to the styles of Romantic Goth or Bubblegum Goth those just aren't her thing. Vanta likes to keep things "wholesomely grim." Sorry, Vikohla.
