  4. To the sky! To the cold! To the ends of life itself! Heroes and villains alike rush toward the climax, and even the Gods know not who will remain standing in the end.. and who shall fall, spent and extinguished, into the dust of history..! Act V: Falling Star, Rising Sun Scene III: Penultimate Preparation Rumors and Story Aspects /Falling Stars, Rising in the West/ - A tribe of miqo'te from the arctic seems to have not only found their way to La Noscea, but engaged in some form of protracted tribal warfare with the kobolds in and around the U'ghamoro Mines. Working in concert with a growing faction of arcanists, numerous crippling blows have been dealt to the beastman tribe, to general acclaim by all the good (non-beastmen) folks of La Noscea. - A tribe of miqo'te from the arctic seems to have not only found their way to La Noscea, but engaged in some form of protracted tribal warfare with the kobolds in and around the U'ghamoro Mines. Working in concert with a growing faction of arcanists, numerous crippling blows have been dealt to the beastman tribe, to general acclaim by all the good (non-beastmen) folks of La Noscea. /The Growing Legend of the Nunh/ - The story of a legendary Nunh is growing.. a savage hero, master of man and beast, powerful and alluring and clever. They say the Golden Horde in Ul'dah venerates him, as do a number of small cults appearing, especially in Ul'dah, but also in the other City-States. More tangible than the Warrior of Light to many, it's said that those who believe in and celebrate the Nunh of the Falling Stars receive boons in the form of protection, or the downfall of their enemies... /Rival Legend: A New Pantheon/ - In an age of heroes and villains, new stories spread like wildfire; everyone likes a good legend, and the more colorful the better. Rivaling the growing popularity of "The Nunh", or perhaps melding with it, is a tale of a number of heroes - legends - with titles every bit as iconic. The Avenger and the Tactician, The Lover and The Forerunner, The Beast and The Destroyer and The Cold One. Like the Warrior of Light, no fixed names accompany these monikers.. and in a world where all you need for power is faith and aether, who knows what could happen to those who claim mantles already extant..? a) Reptoids of Azys Lla (Saturday, April 14th, 2018, 7 pm EST) TENTATIVE High in the sky, in mysterious Azys Lla, conflict is eternal. The Biomass Incubation Complexes of the Allagans continue to produce fresh chimerae, corpses recycled and fed into the machines along with ever-present lightning aether in order to constantly refresh the ranks of the monsters forced to live there, long after their masters vanished. The Reptoids, abominable fusions of peiste and amalj'aa (as best anyone can tell) are one such breed.. and the biggest, most abominable of all is Lycidas, frequent target of the hunts of Clan Centurio. Could any form of understanding ever be reached with such an unfathomable, alien creature? Well, he IS offering to help kill Garleans. "Yes, that's quite right! The conveyances you requested per our agreement, why, they are in the hands of those fellows with the embarrassingly outdated machina! At first I thought, haha, surely this is some form of, of pageantry, all fluff and bustle, why those models of so-called 'combat units' were outdated when I was first spawned! Imagine my consternation when they turned fire upon us. Frightful mess, the shouting and confusion and unreasonable amounts of blood. And so I thought to myself, dear me, this must be the NEW sport, and why, it would be terribly uncouth of me not to extend an invitation! Join us for a little scuffle, would you? You can secure those flight engines you needed to reach your antenna array, and we can secure some new biomass. A jolly good time, and I dare say everyone comes home a winner!" - Lycidas 1. Jana Ridah 2. R'shesha Otharn 3. Seito Moonclaw 4. b) To Steal the Moon (Friday, March 16th 2018, 10 pm EST) Please note that Turn use versus this Event might be restricted Most Outsiders have never met X'zenn Tia, Warlord of the Glade. Most Outsiders have never even heard of the Glade, even if they are involved in the ongoing conflict with the Falling Stars sept. Even most members of the tribe have no real frame of reference for the hidden emplacement of the sole attuneable aetheryte in all of the Falling Stars lands. Conversely, many of the tribals situated at the Glade don't meet very many Outsiders at all. X'zenn met an Outsider, who left an impression on him. To the point that he's gone looking for her, when he should be doing other things for the Nunh. In so doing, it's possible that he might be opening a path into the heart of the north... "She's not supposed to be here..! The Nunh will be upset. Take this aetheryte, those on guard are in agreement! Make him let her go, before the Nunh comes back!" - X'ihari Ares 1. Nihka Mioni 2. Virara Wakuwa 3. S'imba Tia 4. Naoh'a Aznable c) Attack On Crucible: Part III - Defense On Crucible (Saturday, March 24, 2018, 7 pm EST) The Crucible has been taken, the defenders without slaughtered, those within.. indifferent. A source of power for those who dare to use it, and a symbol for the Falling Stars... representing both a time of enslavement, and the birth of their strange bloodline. The once-attackers now find themselves on the defense, seeking to hold this place against those who might try to take it back. Training, fortifications, lessons pertaining to the threat posed by the savage tribals... the Ishgardian soldiers in place are at the peak of their readiness. And now, they will be tested. "It's X'ogun. It has to be. X'zarann was never interested in leading armies, and now he's doing Twelve-knows-what, and in the meantime... I went and looked in O'Ghomoro, but there's no sign of him, nor any Falling Stars. I still don't know if X'ogun is truly loyal to X'zarann. If he is, recapturing the Crucible will ensure his favor. If he's not.. then it could prove his first step toward a coup. Worth it? I don't know. But be ready for anything!" - Anstarra Silverain 1. Artoria Aldsan 2. X'bree Ares 3. Orrin Halgren 4. V'aleera Lhuil d) A Trail of Tears (Saturday, April 7, 2018, 7 pm EST) In the midst of all the chaos, violence and mayhem, it's easy to forget how it all began. A massacre, a murder, and a theft. Of these, the most innocuous - the theft of the last remaining Wyrmtear, token of the sorrow of the Dravanian Horde, by the Fallen X'kirra Ares - has borne the most fruit. It was the ritual creation of a talisman devoted to tracking the relic that led adventurers to call upon the Flames in a combined effort leading back to Rock Falls, and the beginnings of a war. Now the talisman's creator, U'jakata, Thaumaturge Most Puissant, has decided to finish what he started. A ritual of tremendous power that just might lead right to the Wyrmtear.. through the very Void. "Languished inattentions, languishing in attentions, distractions! Diversions most formidable! Conflicts confluent upon my concentration, crafted by clever, cunning and calamitously luxurious affections from a female most fatale. How could I ever suspect, Minna! The degree to which my sweet and doting X'erin, my passionate and sharp-clawed and most terrifying beloved of ribboned hair and bloody lips could devour my days and nights and possibly my soul - make a note, this may prove benificial in short order - and aaah the bruises, the lacerations, Minna! Such sweet agony. Who can keep up with these absurd Falling Stars? I fear and respect their Nunh, to provide satisfaction to the insatiable - or perhaps he does not, which would explain the violent and all-consuming affections bestowed upon me to degrees potentially fatal to lesser males but NOT, I say, to U'jakata, Thaumaturge Most Puissant! Who is and shall finally be recognized for his genius, yes, my genius, when the long object of my search - the other one, not unending and exquisitely painful physical pleasures but RATHER THE WYRMTEAR YES! It shall be mine! Through a path through dreams and Void itself we shall carve, unto the Nunh's very doorstep, footstool, pillow, wherever he might lurk so there to pluck and retrieve the long-sought-after source of chaos and perfidy and sorrow and this blasted firedrake continually EATING MY PILLOWS! We will need lackeys. Post a leve, please. What do you mean, do it yourself? Insolent cat! Why do I even keeaaaaAAH CLAWS MINNA!" - U'jakata Tia, Thaumaturge Most Puissant 1. X'cinna Ares 2. Khira Lhizahla 3. 4. Zaphir Zurlac Reserve List 1. Chachanji Gegenji 2. Reis Okeya

  12. A new Story Aspect has appeared, as others merge or fade away!

Initially created just so she could have a little peace of mind on one side while taking part in deadly and (to her dismay) sometimes-heroic endeavours as her "true" profession, this persona went into hiding for over a year when Anstarra's spear was taken by her brother. In the meantime, the "legend" of the Forerunner, a conceit invented by X'zarann to justify chasing after his sister out into the Outside world, was spread among the Falling Stars. Supposedly a Warrior of skill only surpassed by the Nunh's own, the Forerunner left in order to scout out the world that the Falling Stars were destined to rule. Anstarra, X'anista Ares, the Forerunner, since recovered her spear and has reassumed her dual identity.. only to find that the distinction between herself and this other person she sometimes becomes is a more tangible thing. Has she been affected, as the Nunh has, by assumed power and worship? Has what started as a convenient persona become a true second personality? Is she truly the Forerunner now.. or, as is often the case, is the truth more nuanced and uncertain? Regardless, she's offering to, in her words, kick the shit out of you all, because if you can't fight her, you sure can't fight him. "I don't spar; words I've repeated for years. Recently, I started kinda cheating; fighting one-handed, when I use my spear. She wouldn't do that.. she doesn't play with her prey." 1. Akiko Nomura and A'lera Tristelle 2. Artoria Aldsan 3. 4. b) Breaking the Sky (Friday, February 23rd 2018, 9 pm CST) A second sparring time! "The girl I was.. afraid. I always had to be the best, but that made things worse. A prodigy, they called me, as though to get me killed; jealousy, constant trials, enmity that I didn't want. Admiring someone flags you as weak, so obviously no one did that to me, openly. Instead, some tried to kill me. On and off, from my youngest memories, until I ran away when I was twelve." 1. Zaphir Zurlac 2. Virara Wakuwa 3. Akiko Nomura and X'bree Ares 4. c) This Might Hurt (Saturday, February 24, 2018, 6 pm CST) A third sparring time! "I've hid from all that, for a long time. But now, my friends are strong. I trust you all.. I need to, to bring you to fight my brother. And so, I'm not gonna hold back. I'll be her again, that killer, that prodigy, that.. stupid, semi-deified icon of the Falling Stars. A vicious, cold-eyed and terrified girl called X'anista who grew into an equally vicious bitch called Skybreaker. Let's do this." 1. Reis Okeya 2. Lan Darklyn 3. Khunbish Adarkim 4. d) Everyone Loves Violence? (Sunday, February 25, 2018, 5 pm CST) A fourth sparring time! "Just don't cry if you get hurt. Also, really, feel free to beat up on each other, too. X'zarann's not your only enemy after all.. and not everyone just fights with spears." 1. Naoh'a Aznable 2. Seito Moonclaw 3. Orrin Halgren 4. Khira Lhizahla Reserve List 1.
  14. I have to wonder though.. why Clubs? Rather than Halls? To me the term 'Club' kinda breaks my immersion a bit.. I dunno, it's not a huge deal, but I'm curious. Was it not possible just to keep the term 'Halls'?
  15. A Story Aspect has been updated!

  17. The tale comes closer to its finale.. forces gather in opposition, the clash of wills and ideals. But some lines have yet to be drawn, and others, yet to be crossed. Who will stand by whose side, when the sparks fly? And who will yet stand at all, when the dust settles..? Act V: Falling Star, Rising Sun Scene II: The Gathering Flames of Retribution Rumors and Story Aspects /End of the Golden(tail) Age/ - Infamous recluse Monetarist Moiraine Astervane (AKA Goldentail) has returned to Ul'dah to face lawful prosecution for the strange happenings, said to be void-related, surrounding her manor and affairs. The vultures close in, but you know what they say about a wounded and cornered beast... /A City Lit By Flames/ - With a major faction of the Brass Blades taking a major hit, and the leadership of the Golden Horde seeming unfocused without an enemy to fight, the power vacuum in Ul'dah has been filled by the Immortal Flames. Naturally, where power goes, corruption follows... /Falling Stars, Rising in the West/ - A tribe of miqo'te from the arctic seems to have not only found their way to La Noscea, but engaged in some form of protracted tribal warfare with the kobolds in and around the U'ghamoro Mines. Working in concert with a growing faction of arcanists, numerous crippling blows have been dealt to the beastman tribe, to general acclaim by all the good (non-beastmen) folks of La Noscea. /A Curious Exodus/ - Warriors from the savage Falling Stars sept have been piqued with a curiosity for the outside world. By land, sea and air, more of them are leaving their home - and traditional, xenophobic mindset - behind in favor of seeing this Outside World that both the Nunh and some of their spear-sisters have been making such a big deal about. More tangible than the Warrior of Light to many, it's said that those who believe in and celebrate the Nunh of the Falling Stars receive boons in the form of protection, or the downfall of their enemies... a) Attack on Crucible: Part II (Friday, February 2nd, 2018, 9 pm CST) The outer bulwark of the Crucible, the true birthplace of the Falling Stars, has been breached. The mundane Warriors defending it have been slain or captured.. but what remains, beyond the inner gates? Aside from the secrets of the ancient Nymian stronghold, are said to await the guardians, the last sentinels.. the Unfallen, of the Falling Stars. Once Warriors, bodies and lives now twisted by use of the Crucible itself into something between their old selves and the Fallen they failed to become. "Are we going to have to kill them? I don't know. I only found out they existed recently.. until X'red I never had to think about what becomes of those whom the ritual fails. I hope they're not as dangerous as her. Either way, if X'zarann's not parading them around, they're probably stuck in there. Maybe they're eager for company..." 1. Orrin Halgren 2. Nihka Mioni 3. V'aleera Lhuil (sick, Zaphir Zurlac subbing in) 4. Artoria Aldsan b) A Golden Shade of Grey (Monday, February 5th, 2018, 7:00 pm CST) After X'zarann's shocking display of Primal-like powers of Tempering upon infamous Monetarist mastermind Moiraine Astervane (AKA Goldentail), she was not seen or heard of.. until recently, where she returned to Ul'dah, only to be summarily arrested for crimes both against the state and against nature. The Ossuary won the bidding war to put her on trial first, for void-summoning. The city was just beginning to gear up for the trial of the century, when her cell was breached.. by none other than her one-time teacher, rumored lover, and man whose ruin she brought about, U'dorian the Grey (who at one time was accused of crimes at least as bad, and managed to evade full punishment, though it cost him all his money and influence.. a sentence as good as death, in the eyes of Ul'dah). Adventurers are being called upon, to take first crack at making him listen to reason.. or, failing that, at breaching his mansion and bringing both him and his erstwhile pupil to justice. "U'dorian has been an ally, though clearly he's still conflicted over Goldentail. It would be good to have him back on our side.. can never have too many mages, against the Falling Stars. We also owe it to ourselves to see Goldentail.. dealt with.. conclusively, one way or the other. Is she still Tempered? Or was it only a temporary influence? X'zrann's NOT a Primal.. not yet, anyroad." 1. Reis Okeya 2. Uzuki Jana'salt 3. Virara Wakuwa 4. Khira Lhizahla c) The Ultimate Relay Race (Saturday, February 10th, 2018, 7 pm CST) The floating continent of Azys Lla. A place of legend, until recently, though even now only the most well-traveled can claim to have laid eyes upon its forbidding countenance. Tunneled rock and soaring, futuristic construction lay side by side in this vista of most unnatural nature, secreted among the clouds and refusing to be bowed... be it to the whims of Adventurers or the will of the Garlean empire, whose mighty flagship Gration threatens to become a permanent fixture of the landscape. Somewhere in this mysterious and terrible place, an antenna relay with the power to broadcast a telepathic signal across the breadth of Hydaelyn rests, untouched for ages. The Nunh of the Falling Stars has sent his minions to scouring the land, to find it, and secure his ascension to godhood. Those who oppose him mean to find it first. "So, first we need to find the damn place. Thing. Outcropping? Is it gonna be a single room? A giant fortress? One of those fancy terminals? A living bio-weapon? The Allagans will never, I fear, stop surprising us with the horrors they created.. but trust my brother to make a superweapon out of one of the few things they didn't ACTUALLY intend to be one." 1. R'shesha Otharn 2. X'cinna Ares 3. Seito Moonclaw 4. Akiko Nomura Reserve List 1. Zaphir Zurlac 2. Naoh'a Aznable HOUSE RULE: For Starsfall, players are allowed to, if they wish, purchase a Stunt (like any other stunt, this is not a bonus stunt, simply a bonus rule for Starsfall) that works in the following manner: +1 to a single skill, with a single, simple condition, otherwise always active. The cap to which a skill may be brought with this sort of Stunt is 5. NOTE: This Stunt is not available to characters who already have a natural +5 in a skill. EXAMPLE: Gain +1 to Fight as long as you are fighting with fist weapons. This may not bring your Fight higher than 5.
  18. Shall play backup for tonight, if no one fills the slot ^^
  19. Take Two! Life is change, and change is life. A truth inescapable when a frozen, cold, dead place, still and unmoving for ages... suddenly draws breath... and exhales. A torrent, a heat, a blaze, consuming and destructive and impossibly alive. Those caught in the wake of this breath are tempered and tested, some empowered, others blasted aside. Inevitable is this storm of life, spurred and driven by ambition and the desperate -need- for change. But what will be left once it has passed? Will life blaze brightly as never before, or be snuffed out for all time..? Act V: Falling Star, Rising Sun Scene I: Dawn of Reckoning Rumors and Story Aspects /End of the Golden(tail) Age/ - Infamous recluse Monetarist Moiraine Astervane (AKA Goldentail) has returned to Ul'dah to face lawful prosecution for the strange happenings, said to be void-related, surrounding her manor and affairs. /The Legend of the Nunh/ - A new story has begun to be told, in a hundred different flavors; that of a powerful, savage leader, Nunh of his arctic tribe, fearless and strong, brilliant and irresistible. Has he fought Flames? Blades? Garleans? Beastmen? Dragons? All these and more, while fathering a thousand children and wielding relics of Allag to boot, if you believe everything you hear. For now the stories are too diverse to be believable, but they certainly are entertaining. a) Moustache-Twirling Villainy: The Train, the Cat and the Captain (Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, 7:30 pm CST) A challenge has been issued, the gauntlet thrown down; X'cinna Ares, founder and part-time Warlord of the Golden Prints Sept, has been kidnapped! The perpetrator? None other than the vile Captain Cortez of the Brass Blades of the Aster! Reports have him heading toward the train tracks in Central Thanalan.. what nefariousness could he be planning?? "'e came outta nowhere! Burst through th' wall.. ridin' some big metal thing, like one o' those Magitek walkers but full o' pipes and steam an' gears! Grabs the boss, smashes everythin' an' runs out through th' other wall! Carryin' a load o' chains and wearin' a top hat 'e were, the nutter!" 1. S'imba Tia 2. Seito Moonclaw 3. Zaphir Zurlac 4. b) Trials of the Bright (Friday, January 12th, 2018, 9 pm CST) The Bright Ones. Former Clip-Tails - former warriors of the Falling Stars who were mutilated for failure and made into slaves of the sept, liberated from bondage and led toward a brighter future by benevolent Adventurers. Forced by the Nunh's unnatural wrath to flee Ul'dah, they evaded Goldentail's press-gang force of Blades near the Burning Wall with the help of yet more goodly Adventurers. On to the Black Shroud they pressed, and then further north, through Coerthas unto the borderlands of Dravania itself, seeking a place far enough from their oppressors to be free once and for all. Now, though, they've finished running. "X'vann and X'orri... from what they were before, to this. Leaders of the Bright Ones; Vann of the Leaf, pugilist and scholar, and Orri the Redeemed, protector and steward. They've led the others, near two-score of them reunited once more, equipped with the skills they learned from every discipline of the hand, land and war.. to the realm of dragons. With a plan to go higher yet, though not in flight... or, hah, perhaps exactly that. For they mean to help face their former Nunh in Azys Lla when the time comes, and to get there, you need wings..." 1. Nihka Mioni 2. Naoh'a Aznable 3. Virara Wakuwa 4. Reis Okeya c) Attack On Crucible, Part 1 (Saturday, January 13th, 2018, 7 pm CST FLEXIBLE) **If people want to start earlier or later this day, I can do it, it's basically a clear and open day for me** The Crucible. For most Falling Stars, a legend shrouded in mystery; for Outsiders, little more than a whispered myth. Until now. The ancient site where it is said that in ages past a tribe of miqo'te was experimented upon, cruelly, by desperate scholars seeking immortality has now been rediscovered. It is the source of the ritual of the Fallen, the process which creates each Nunh and has more recently been used to empower X'zarann's chosen lieutenants. Now, Anstarra seeks to wrest it from his control. The first step? Establishing a siege upon an aetheryte-equipped underground bunker, hidden beneath the mountains of Coerthas... "Taking the Crucible from X'zarann was never going to be a quick and simple attack. Finding it has taken moons.. hopefully besieging it won't be as bad. It's tight quarters, hidden underground and reinforced both by ancient magic and my own murderous kin. This is the first assault; probing defenses and finding means to obstruct aetherial ingress and egress. We need to lock them in; then the real fun can begin." 1. Orrin Halgren 2. V'aleera Lhuil 3. 21. The sky burned. Not a healthy fire, not pure, cleansing reds, oranges and yellows. This was a sickly blaze, obscured by smoke like poison and threaded with desperate veins of lightning. It was a sky from a madman's nightmares of the end of the world. "Wake up," muttered X'zenn, in case he was the madman. "Wake from this." Alas, he did not. It had been a vain hope. After all, he seemed cursed to remain sane, where so many others... Incongruously, he found himself thinking of Nihka. A slight curve to his lips. That he should remember the name of an Outsider.. but then, she wasn't just any Outsider, was she? A goddess. A goddess of the night, of the moon, the midnight sun. Of passion, that. Of love. If the Nunh was a god, it made sense for Outsiders to have gods too, right? Weaker gods, to be sure, but.. powerful in their own ways. That he, X'zenn, Warlord of the Glade, could have killed her, fighter to fighter, he had little doubt; that he had not wanted to, and more, was not sure he could have wanted to, was proof enough to him of that power. She should be a goddess of the Falling Stars. Of the Blessed.. if they could take Outsiders' weapons, their ways, their books and inventions, they could well take their goddesses too, right? A shock of realization; surely that was exactly what the Nunh had been doing, bringing her to them. Taking her to the Caves... and, without a doubt, taking her. Over and over, to win her over to him... Who had won that battle? For battle it surely was.. and that X'zenn himself did not automatically assume the Nunh's victory, as he should, was proof enough that the beautiful moon goddess had sunk her long, long fangs into his own soul... "You have an interesting expression." His expression turned flat, suppressing both the fondness of memory and the disturbingly sharp pang of jealousy as he imagined the black-skinned female in the Nunh's arms. Turning, he regarded the male beside him with what he hoped was studied indifference, tinged with irritation. Irritation which grew as the male in question's own smile widened fractionally in response. He clicked his tongue. "Do you have nothing better to do, X'indro?" "Right now? Not really. Like you - and X'ioun, and X'akkel, and Rrain - I wait on X'ogun's pleasure. Also like you, my mind wanders to fond memories... oh, don't look at me like that. I won't tell. So. Whose pretty face occupies your thoughts?" "You see too much..." muttered the northern Warlord, irritated.. though not especially worried. He understood X'indro, too. And so, rather than evade.. "The dark-skinned Outsider. Nihka." A twitch of brows was his reward; he'd surprised the pink-eyed male. X'zenn smirked, though the expression faded quickly. "I wonder what she would think of this place. If she would see the beauty.. the love, in this.. nightmare." No response came, and so after a moment the Warlord turned to regard his fellow, and found him pensive. That.. calculating thoughtfulness of the male that made him so dangerous. X'zenn's ears twitched back a fraction; had he made a mistake? But the other Warlord grinned suddenly. "The world is changing quickly, isn't it? Ah, look.. he returns. Success, I think." X'zenn followed his gaze. X'ogun was walking back from the floating metal board.. the console, he'd called it. His expression was closed, but there was that in his stance that agreed with X'indro's statement; the Fallen had figured out how it worked. "I know not if there is love to be seen in this," the Southern Warlord murmured, still smiling, as X'ogun made his way over. "But there is certainly beauty... like I said, the world is changing, and not slowly. We shall see great things, I think, and soon. How many of us will die on the way, do you think?" X'zenn shook his head... then looked at his fellow sharply, frowning. "That is no idle question. You have an idea." A nod and grin in response. "That's why I like you, Zenn.. smarter than they give credit. The answer.." he nods to X'ogun, "is right there." "...the Advisor, rather than the Nunh." "Yes. You know where X'zarann is. And in this, we can see why." X'zenn let out a breath, closing his eyes. Yes, of course. "Preparing the next generation." "Indeed. The price of war, yes?" A nod.. and then a smile. X'indro noted it, tilting his head. "Too many of us are still frozen in the old ways anyroad. It will be.. cleansing." "Ah... again you surprise, my friend. Of course, I have no intention of dying." "Neither do I. I have things yet to do." "Such as seeing your moon goddess again..?" It was X'zenn's turn to grin.
