Congratulations! He looks adorable

It would perhaps not break the lore, but with something like this I'd encourage caution in terms of how widely known it'd be. At least for what I know, not a whole lot of people are buddy-buddy with the voidsent, and it also seems that voidsent don't do a whole lot of things without there being some sort of purpose to it that benefits them (usually at the expense of people, hence why they're disliked). It would very likely have some serious consequences for as to how your character is perceived (fear, spite, disliking, distance, etc.), at least for my own characters, they'd be staying a heck of a ways away from anything voidsent and voidsent-related. I'd encourage being open to peoples reactions on it icly, it could become a good plot element for some people as well, if they say for example wanted to steal it or something like that.

/modhat on We seem to be straying a bit too far from the original intention of this thread, I'd like to encourage people to please stay on topic (Even though OP's question has pretty much been answered) and/or make a different thread for discussing the things that do not belong to this topic if you wish to discuss those things further. Thanks! /modhat off

Wztqc65mcUg I am apparently in this kind of a mood tonight.

I just always assume people are AFK if they don't respond. Perhaps because I always end up getting /tells when I have to afk, even if I put the afk-chair on. If people intentionally ignore it then I probably didn't want to speak with them anyways.

[10-27-2015] Cleaning - End of October
Maril replied to Unnamed Mercenary's topic in Forum Announcements
Yes, I would like my post moved back. I tried to post a reply to it however it said I have no permissions to do so. Probably already archived by the time I got to it and just not noted in the title. Here is the thread URL http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=13539 Thank you. I have fixed this for you. Please remember to keep your thread updated with a reply to it once a month -
MqoANESQ4cQ Stumbled over this the other day. I think it's very beautiful, I quite like listening to it.

The date auction happened last month, and it was very fun We're still quite active with 37 roleplayers that log i n at least once a week. For a limited time we're making a exceptions to alts-without-mains, however these are under stricter rules for activity as we'd like to see any character in the FC be properly involved in the RP. For future plans, we're looking to work together with JH-RP & RD-RP for some IC airship exploration times. It'll be super fun!

Welcome aboard! I hope you will have fun here

This is either going to go really really right, or really really wrong. Will update with a post-baking picture soon (Cinnamon snails if anyone was wondering. Or buns, depending on where you're from.) And here's the result: So, I ended up taking them out of the muffin-mold after about 8 mins, I realized they weren't really quite done yet so I put the next batch on (without muffin mold), then took that one out after 6 minutes and put the other ones back on, then blasted them with hot air for like 3-4 minutes to make sure they were properly cooked and got a bit more color. The muffin mold thing was an experiment, I'd seen someone do it on facebook and was like "That looks pretty". The conclusion I can draw is that I actually prefer the standard way of making them, and that despite putting what seemed like LOTS of cinnamon in there, they don't really taste overly cinnamon like. I'm half-way considering I might have used the wrong type of butter (unsalted) for the filling or that something somehow effed up when I used it.It may also just have been the recipe that was weird. I am probably not going to be serving these to anyone. Ah well. Can't get it right every-time.

Alliance of Free Ships The A.F.S is an alliance between (currently) three free companies who all share the desire to venture out into the great skies with their airships. Together they have several ships at their disposal, and a solid agreement about splitting the findings from each mission evenly between them. Invitation to the LS, beyond through membership of the Free Companies in the alliance, will only happen only after IC interaction with either of the Free Companies leaders/officers (or otherwise appointed person.) The participating Free Companies are: The Kindred (KinRP) Jackal & Hide (JH-RP) Radical Dreamers (RD-RP) We have no planned frequency for the Airship Missions as of yet, we will likely need to complete some OOC test-runs as well as an IC test-run or two before we see any rhythm happening. Worth to note, is that the IC events will likely happen during the EU evening. The LS is primarily OOC, but may be used ICly during events. This LS post is mainly to serve as a point where information gets kept about the ships & the crew, as the RPC is nice and accessible for all of us. If you want to know more about the project, feel free to contact Nailah Quill. As the project develops, more information & contacts will be available.

I am the biggest hypocrite on this area, because I actually met my boyfriend through RP, but it's not something I'd exactly recommend. I've had some experiences where someone has fallen for me through my character, in which case it is not so much me they're falling for but rather because they project my character back onto myself rather than realizing that there is a line between ic/ooc. Each episode of this always ended rather dramatically, resulting in me no longer speaking with the person oocly etc. I'd say overall, the blurring of the IC/OOC line is the root of most drama I've been involved in or heard of. Because when you blurr it at one point, you can no longer be terribly sure of it in any situation, which means if a character suddenly does something mean to yours, you might start suspecting the action was oocly motivated because the player has an issue with you - it starts a very slippery slope. So indeed as the others say, tread carefully. I'd also say it's not a given that just because you can talk with someone for hours on end, that it's due to love or love-like feelings. I certainly know a handful of people where if a 5-6 hour skypecall happened it wouldn't be unusual - but I do not have feelings for any of them. We just like talking a lot ^^ It might not be the same for you, but either way if it is so you'll figure it out sooner or later

This sounds interesting. I'd love an invite whenever, I'll try to catch you online.

LF a bar to host a one-time event on the 30th or 31st
Maril replied to Temmi's topic in Chronicled Connections
In case you haven't found one yet, then KinRP has a bar on the first floor (called The Loft) it's not overly overly big, but still has a decent size. You can find the house at Goblet ward 4, plot 11. Only thing is since we are predominantly EU, if the event is during the PST evening we're not likely to have many people online (including myself) so all depending on that I can't really say if anyone could help out with serving nor guarantee my own presence. -
I play from Denmark, and I have noticed latency issues a little bit - paticularily with AoE's. I don't do any endgame on a high level in HW, but I did do a bit in pre-HW and I was able to do fine. Mostly I have heard of Eu raiders moving to the Eu datacenter because they want the best conditions for their raiding. So latency doesn't really affect me. I haven't known any other players from Finland that have big latency issues, but it could be that your location just makes it a bit worse. I've not heard of any fc's or players that are making the move to RP on a server in the European datacenter, nor do I or my FC have any plans for that. Ultimately my focus is on RP, and Balmung is in my opinion the best place for that. I haven't quite known anywhere else where you can get RP at most any hour because the playerbase is so diverse and I absolutely am in love with that.

Welcome back around

I am curious as to what other peoples little geeky corners/gaming stations look like. So, feel free to share a picture of a description of what you have. Not to make this a bragging competition, mind! Mine looks like this: http://imgur.com/cZ8Or9W (And that's probably the cleanest my desk is going to be for a while ) I'm one of those unfortunate souls that only have one screen, but the chair is new and very very comfy. You can also see my headset (steelseries), mechanical keyboard (Razr) and my very worn-down-but-somehow-still-miraculously-alive Logitech mouse. I'm slowly upgrading things around and about, with the thinking that since I spend so much time around my computer anyways I might as well make it comfy too. Next on my wishlist is a second screen ^^

balmung Looking for FC/Group of Roleplayers
Maril replied to Mrrshaw's topic in Chronicled Connections
Check out the European Directory and feel free to fill out a thing. I can get you into the Europa linkshell as well if you wish. I'm from Denmark myself so hi neighbour! -
Very good points. As for people bidding within the same FC - Personally I encouraged my own to not go for our own, which I think most kept to. I wouldn't want to bar it out entirely, on one side it's going to be harder to track - but you may also have people that are not icly involved with their FC, or have FC's where close interaction between it's members is not always a given. I do agree on setting a cut-off time for obtaining tokens, though I would perhaps be inclined to let it cut off half way through the auctions rather than at a set time.. What I did notice was that people beyond the ones being auctioned off were somewhat slow to arrive, so it's getting a balance between wanting to embrace late-comers but also wanting to indeed prevent abuse. So if we do a repeat of this then the threshold and a cut off time for tokens will probably be things I'll change about. Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot!
-
Indeed, I did notice this. We implemented it from a potential situation where people were constantly bidding high - I had no means to test the system beforehand. As such I asked people to pick a number above the value of 50, but in reality only about three or four auctions managed to pass the threshold, with most ending in the 40-ish zone. Which in itself isn't bad, it just means people are more responsible with their tokens than otherwise anticipated, so we can take that into account if we do a repeat of this ^^ Either way I am happy you had fun

And we're taking off! We have a good crowd but we could sure use more bidders, come along one and all
