I'd only ever pull something like that to the OOC realm if it was a case of metagaming, or something where I strongly feel that something is being forced down on my character which would have required my OOC acceptance first because of how it affects the day-to-day RP, for example inventing a false secret to spread around for ill-intended purposes - but I stress that this would have to be of some magnitude before I would react on it.

I agree with this, but I find there's a thin line between the right amount and too much. Personally I get a bit "turned off" by the RP if someone for example puts their characters thoughts into emotes, because I like to try and figure out what a character is thinking and such.. That and none of my characters can read minds. In that lieu, sometimes people can end up describing things far too well so you sort of get the same feeling. But probably my biggest "issue" with big and very descriptive emotes is that they take a lot of time to write, which slows down everything, and I consider mmo-rp as being rather fast paced. Having slow emotes is fine when you're just a few people, but have more than 5 and stand about in an environment where people come and go and I've seen people who do these types of emotes falling behind in such a way that they couldn't respond to the persons action (Lets assume it was them saying goodbye) within the expected time for that and thus completely missing it. And then there's that part of me that starts to feel like the worst ever roleplayer when my mighty "Long" 5 line emote is dwarfed by 10-lined emotes of pure poetic beauty But we don't talk about that ... And to be on-topic: I've nicknamed the fall/winter period as burn-out season, it seems to be somewhat of a tendency that people burn out during this time. It could be for a number of reasons, and figuring out why wont always solve it - For me, I start to struggle with my motivation because I am prone to winter depressions, and it always ends up affecting my RP in some way, as I become a little less pro-active. All I can really say is: Do what you feel like. Read a book, pick up a new hobby (I can recommend knitting), walk about in circles.. But don't forget that RP can sometimes help you get into a better mood as you have fun and such. Getting hooked into a longer running plot can rekindle something you thought you'd forgotten ^^

Hello everyone. Small-but-big note, I've decided to hand over the leadership of the linkpearl to Mal Sionis. This is largely to due with the fact that my FC, KinRP, has grown in size and I quite literally have no time to do anything for the LS, in terms of advertising, pruning inactive members and so on. I believe that Mal has a better shot at doing these things The transition will happen tomorrow, and this topic will be reposted by him as well. Cheers! - Sastra.

Yeah that's the rotation I've seen on the reddit as well, however I have optimized it to suit the stats I have (Supra+New offhand half melded) a little better, and then I have been experimenting with another skill as well. Still the rotation itself only has like a 20% chance to get the right procs and even after that it can still fail to HQ. Not to mention reclaim has failed me 3 times already X_X I honestly think they went a bit too far in the difficulty here, I'd be fine with it if it wasn't so damned expensive. I've spent about 2 million so far.

Monthly update! We now tally 38 weekly active RP'ers, and we're more and more starting to see RP pretty much around the clock. Our larger events are however still primarily in the EU primetime - And we are seeing more small and spontaneous events popping up. Super exciting stuff! Of all of the things I wanted answered on the lore panel. The freaking moogle-madness. One of the more common takes I seem to encounter in RP these days is that some moogles basically glamour themselves invisible whilst others doesn't, and if you see a moogle it is because that moogle has decided that you are to see it. Personally I just refrain from involving moogles into my RP, not that I can really envision it happen anyways, but simply because the game says conflicting things about the whole deal.

We still have plenty of room. I will also use this bump to remind people to follow the rules. A few new ones have been added in, and due to complaints and people leaving due to the behavior of others, the rules will be increasingly enforced. I will also remind people that I and the silver stars have reserved the right to remove people for breaking the rules without warning. We do not want drama in the LS, nor do we want drama from people that might be removed. Thank you for understanding

Counting hours and playing cards against humanity with some FC members is what the night is bringing me so far, after doing some work on my fc's website. Will soon be able to sleep and then I have to get up early for the patch

I've already tried to open the game twice like the special derp that I am. I've some work to do, but I suspect I'm going to be intensely bored when I get home. Maybe I'll update my wiki's or sink some hours into minecraft. What are you guys going to do?

No, we're (Me and my FC) staying The EU servers doesn't seem to have as strong initiatives for RP if any, and there's so little lag on Balmung that it doesn't effect me. If I was some kind of very serious progression raider I might have considered it.

During the live Q/A someone asked about RP tags. The response was somewhere around this: "We want to do it, but it depends on the hit to server load, we've got a lead UI guy who could work up a good icon if we do" Figured I'd add that here

Provided that you don't pick the last weekend in November (I'll be out travelling then), I should be able to contribute with a dancer

I'm not too familiar with skype/forum RP, I've tried skype rp a few times but I must say I do prefer in-game ^^ I will toss a friendrequest from sastra when I catch you online, then we can see if we can work something out Now and again in the weekends is definitely good too ^^
