  1. Balmung's next opportunity is probably not going to be until the 20th when the maintenance happens. As far as I can tell, Gilgamesh opens a bit more frequently still, usually very early in the morning though for most US people. It honestly depends on where you would rather go and how patient you are. If it was me, I would probably cough up the money for a transfer.
  2. Just confirming that I am indeed going to match people up once more So keep signing up if you want in. If some of yous from the first round would like another pen-pal, or if your pen-pal has disappeared and you would like a new one, let me know as well.
  3. Nailah tries not to, however if she gets drunk enough she will.. And her approach will be a bit more bold and direct. She's very likely to flee when she sobers up, due to complications with commitment. Thala'to however, when single, flirts with just about everyone. He likes to give people compliments and long suggestive looks.
  4. I stumbled over this today: http://whothefuckismydndcharacter.com/ It's rather funny, not sure if it's been posted here before. Some of them would make for very interesting characters The one I got on my first go was: AN AMBITIOUS HALFLING SORCERER FROM A HAUNTED CASTLE WHO ALWAYS KEEPS THEIR PROMISES" What do you guys get?
  5. Thank you for the encouraging words ^^ Good luck with finding the window, just hang on in there, it'll happen sooner or later
  6. Back around launch we did actually have an automatic log-out, I believe the timer was 15 minutes AFK. What we had back then instead was queues, very long queues - and people would continuously find ways to keep themselves logged in. Locking yourself in a craft, looking at the marketboard, and such things all prevented the game from booting you. Then, after some time, they removed the automatic boot-feature, the queues went away (mostly, these days you might get a 3 min queue as far as what I have experienced) and that was when Balmung wasn't locked all the time. It doesn't make the issue less annoying, but out of having queues or the ability to make characters.. I must admit, I prefer not having queues - as well as the fact that they likely never solved the ways people could lock themselves in the game. So if they just re-instate it, we'll end up having long queues and people will try everything to stay on, which makes the queues worse. What would maybe help, is if they instated some kind of daily "reset" of the server, where the server throws everyone off and then people have to log themselves back in - that would rid the servers of those who's left themselves logged in over night, but it would inconvenience those who're playing at the time, and with Balmungs size there's always going to be someone who's bothered by it cause there's always a billion people on. I don't think we have anyone in my FC that are always online though. I reckon a lot of people still close their computer entirely when they go to bed. Personally I've had slip ups when I have been online before work and then forgotten to close the game before I headed off - or sometimes when I've been up till 5AM and K.O'd in spectacular ways wherein I do not remember how I even got to bed.
  7. Welcome to the RPC ^^
  8. Berrod was helpful when I ventured into the quicksand last night! That was very nice. I go there too rarely these days, but maybe I'll change that ^^
  9. Bryn has been awesome to collaborate with on events, the planning was one of the smoothest in recent time and from what I heard later on, people had lots of fun. We should definitely do something like that again sometime
  10. Happy birthday I'm 24 too *hi5*

    Morning

Welcome welcome ^^ Have fun out there
  12. Highlander master race! \m/ Welcome
  13. Been trying to catch people as I see them offline. We have plenty of space still :)Welcome to all of the new additions.
  14. There is a valid (but expensive) alternative, I had a friend who couldn't make a character. Instead he rolled a character on Gilgamesh and transferred it over to Balmung, it seems that the transfers aren't affected by the lockdown (as otherwise stated on the official site). As such he managed to transfer whilst the server was still locked, though he did transfer in the EU afternoon so, very early morning for yous. Though from what I can tell it's not the lockdown on creation that affects transfers. The catch is that the character has to be 3 days old (24hrs x3) and then it costs money. And then you must pray that you do not get caught behind error 401 as my other friend has
  15. What kind of stories has your character gotten into? - Nailah got Kindred up and running, and advanced them to the point of having a house and a profitable business overall. She's also experienced how your choices or lack of action can piss different people off (at the same time, too!), as she has been attacked twice. She has also re-found her siblings, found out what her birth-name is (as opposed to Sastra, the name she got from the orphanage), and she has suffered through the loss of one of these siblings. Thala'to has been in and out of bad relationships, but has now managed to find someone who he loves and is actually good for him. He's also taken up work as the Kindred's resident masseur. How has your character changed since you rolled them (Or if you have been here since the beginning, since 2013)? - Since the beginning.. Well, for one she stopped wandering about aimlessly, though many of the struggles that sprung forth from that decisions wake are ones she still deeply struggles with. She had a short time where she warmed up to the idea of being a leader, but recent events have knocked her back, and has caused her to adopt a sense of paranoia. She is a survivor, so she will find a way, but I hope for her sake that 2015 starts off calm. Thala'to on the flipside hasn't changed much at all. He's tried to stop being a shadow to people, but ultimately has also discovered that being the shadow to the right person is where he finds happiness. What has been your favorite RP moment this year? Pretty much all of the smaller/larger successful events I've been able to run have left good memories with me. What was the most shocking RP moment this year? When certain characters turned and became enemies of Nailah. Did not see it coming ._. Has your character made any mistakes? Mistakes and mistakes.. Nailah's done one that in retrospect was incredibly stupid, but she was 110% blinded in the situation. Thala'to.. Hmh, not so much, but he is getting a bit too comfy and I think that might come back to bite him in the tail. What was the most surprising thing you found out about your character? For Nailah.. Probably how strong she is. It's on the level of she sort of HAS to be, but even so. The amount of bad things that's happened since approx. august would have driven the past-her away a long time ago. What relationships did your character build? Nailah: She got more enemies than friends, and two of these enemies are now also dead. For Thala'to: He was able to get out of a bad relationship, and after some time of swearing off all manner of guys and girls, he met his current love interest. Any relationships that fell apart? Nailah: Her enemies sprung from what used to be friendships, so you could say they fell apart in the worst way possible. Thala'to: Whilst it hasn't fallen apart, he's grown more distant from his best friend. Destiny would seem to have it that they continue on paths that carry them further and further away. What was your favorite large-scale event and why? The trading event KinRP had in the fall. I did not expect to see anyone really, and I was surprised over how many people showed up in the end and especially how good people were at keeping it to invisible items (I swear the table isn't empty you guys!) as that is not always easy to do. I think anyone who organizes events can relate to the "Phew" you experience afterwards. What was your favorite smaller-scale event and why? Uuuh.. I can't really pick one here because there were a lot of good ones. What are you looking most forward to seeing in the future with your characters growth and story? I'm at a point now where I don't really know what to expect for either of my characters, which might sound annoying but it makes me a bit optimistic - I look forward to following their escapades, and see how they might grow and surprise me.
  16. I don't really like alcohol so I don't drink a whole lot. When I do drink, it's usually a single can of beer (from Thor or Carlsberg. Danish brands.) along with a meal. I've never been drunk before and so far I can still not really see the appeal in it. What bothers me about a lot of alcohol like wine and such is that is leaves like a burning sensation down my throat, I find that a lot of the "Adult" drinks tend to. I absolutely hate the burning sensation. Of the most fancy I've ever tried is mead from a medieval festival market type thing (It was alright but I'm not a fan) Might be slightly odd that I've chosen to RP an alcoholic but.. Oh well! ^^
  17. Happy new year and the best wishes to you all, from KinRP (Screenshot: From the Starlight play event.)
  18. Neither of my two most played characters have it in them to be hoarders. Nailah barely knows how to have a room, after spending a decade or so on the roads living out of a backpack. Thala'to is still young, and the concept of living on his own and owning his own things is still very new and he doesn't seem overly materialistic. Down the line he might develop more of such tendencies, though ^^
