  1. Congratulations! May the dramallama have mercy upon your souls
  2. I play this for good luck on 4 stars: PirscKRxHHI
  3. From my perspective.. 1. Don't accept IC/OOC bleeds around you, and have very high standards aimed at yourself. It's never acceptable and it should always be resolved as soon as possible, through means of communicating with the other player. I'm not saying go be a rude person and tell people what to do, more like a self-awareness on both yourself and your sorroundings. 2. Do not get angry when others question you about a potential IC/OOC bleed. This can be applied to a lot of other things as well - getting defensive about yourself and your character wont solve anything, people's only way to make sure that there isn't one is by asking. If you get defensive I'd be tentative to take that as a confirmation that there actually is one. 3. Do not play yourself, an extension of yourself or something you would like to be. It's one of the first rules I was ever told about when I learned to RP, and I still believe it's one of the most important ones, especially if you are fresh/inexperienced. This doesn't mean you shouldn't play something that you find interesting, mind. 4. Never ever assume that anything a player does through their character is in any way negatively aimed at you because they hate you or similar. Even with the people you have a bad ooc relation to, rarely I find their actions to reflect the same lest it was justified with a meaningful conflict. 5. Do not RP to fulfill a real emotional need, and if you end up doing that, tell your close friends in game so they might be able to help you or at the very least avoid stepping on things that'll cause you RL distress. Yes, roleplaying can be a get-away activity much like reading a book, but if you abuse this one in particular it can drive you places you shouldn't be going. It usually also ends up with people losing some of the friends they've made over time as I find, including myself, pulling away from someone who is in an abusive relationship with RP is the only way to help them, because you cut off whatever sets them off into sad spirals. Even if they might just find a new place to do it. 6. When it comes to romances, be hyper aware of the other person and try to regularily make sure that there's nothing beyond the IC relation. The moment there is, it's time to wrap up and go. It may not always be dangerous but trust me, you don't want to end up with a stalker (any gender here), it's better to be safe rather than sorry. I do not know anyone, no matter how experienced they are and how clear cut their lines usually are, who do not occasionally slip into a moment of heated emotions, which is something that's good to keep in mind as well. But most of all just don't accept it happening. Without the IC/OOC boundary, we wouldn't really be roleplaying, imo. Some rules may be able to be bent and broken without much serious coming from it as a reaction, IC/OOC is not one of those.
  4. This popped up on my youtube, I really really like it. Been a favorite of mine for a while now. ByvYYoXlSxE
  5. Heya! I'm still looking high and low for the last bandit/bad-guy. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to sit down and plan out the route more precisely Do you guys have skype? because if so we can form a little group for this event so as to better keep everyone updated, PM me if so EDIT: Make that two. One of my own have dropped.
  6. Well, I know that between the seeker/keeper clan it's widely frowned upon, to the point that off-spring with mixed blood are shunned away. I think it really comes down to how tolerant your character is and what they've been exposed to, what their culture is.. I'd imagine Ishgardians would frown upon any relation with a "heretic" and probably most people would be uncomfortable with a roegadyn/lala couple. But at the same time you may have like a hyur that had seen plenty of odd couples and might not mind all that much. Out of my characters, none of them really have major negative thoughts about mixed couples, but he is secretly ashamed of being related to a keeper/seeker mix offspring that is his half-sister. He'd never say it out loud though, ever.
  7. Character Name: Thala'to Relehna Tell a few things about yourself that might interest bidders: Thala'to is a gentle caring man who likes to look out for those he adores. He's a good listener, often incorporating such into his work as a masseur. He's had his time on the various dance stages of Ul'dah, and whilst he no longer actively performs, he still makes a point out of looking the best he can, staying fit and healthy. What sort of date are you looking for?: Someone who is good at keeping a conversation going, possibly even curious of nature. He'll be happy to go just about everywhere, and is keen on trying new things. Is there anything you absolutely will not do?: Thala'to can be rather vain at times, he will likely not to anything that will land him with visible injuries, scars and the likes. He is not a trained combatant in any way, so if something gets too dangerous he may back out. Who do you want bidding on you? (male, female, both, etc): Both, however Thala'to do not tend to pursue women due to negative experiences in recent time.

    New meat!

    You should have seen me when I started here. I came from a game where /me was the thing you used, it took me a few months to shake the habit entirely
  9. The other thread is a bit more about doing it wrong, like, is not mentioning it wrong or not - I didn't want to derail the thread by asking in there how other people do their bodylanguage stuff with their Miqo's, even though it is related.
  10. Okay so.. I was reading through the other thread that's up about Miqo'te RP, but I didn't want to derail it with more bodylanguage stuff. I also can't remember if we've had a thread about this before, but here goes: I'm looking for people's experiences with their Miqo'te characters and how they have (or haven't?) portrayed their bodylanguage when it comes to tail/ears, and how you generally regard their senses + how you RP out these senses / other miqo'te specific traits. Why? Well, it's always interesting for me to know how people do things, it helps me understand why some may react in certain ways out there on the stage. I have a Miqo'te alt myself, and have sort of figured out a way to do things that I like, without making it feel too repetitive/redundant. Usually when I emote for his bodylanguage, I only mention tail/ears/etc when it enhances the point or reveals something about my Miqo'tes mood. Of course there are those with complete control over their bodylanguage in some situations, but for my Miqo'te, if he for example gets angry he'll be focusing a lot more on the anger, and wouldn't be trying to unfluff his tail and keep it from swishing about When I started playing him, I actually decided to sit down and read about cat body-language and senses. I remember stumbling over things like this site: http://www.catster.com/cat-behavior/cat-body-language To me it just always seemed like the right place to start - rather than haphazardly guessing. Obviously, some things aren't really so easy to implement all the time, where as others has. When it comes to the senses: Sight: Better nightvision for keepers, though not the point where it gets really easy. Hearing: What I tend to assume is that Miqo'te have a better detail hearing, rather than longer range like you might find with an Elezen. Also, because the ears are so flexible to move, they'd be able to have the luxury of not turning their heads to hear what is going on around them. Smell: Enhances sense of smell, however I never force a smell upon someone, rather I would /tell and ask if or not my Miqo'te would smell something like say another persons scent on their mate. Balance: Tails make things easier, I'd imagine. And finally, when it comes to purring, I believe that when and why a Miqo'te purrs is culturally determined based on how they were raised and what is the social norm. So for example if the norm has been to idly purr to signalize "I am feeling happy/content" to your fellow miqo'tes, it may be something that a miqo'te would do even around non-miqo'te. Or, if a Miqo'te has never been exposed to the concept of purring, they may not know how to pronounce the sound let alone when to produce it, and find it somewhat of an alien concept. I do believe that Miqo'te can purr, because even a real life human can train themselves to purr, so if Hyur and Humans are comparable in that sense, it should be possible. So anyways that's how I've managed to put it all together. Now it's your turn!
  11. I find that my Miqo'te has actually taught me as a roleplayer quite a lot. For one he's my first male character, but secondly the lore itself has been "forcing" (It's such a strong word) me to deal with or think about some aspects of their culture and behavior that have otherwise been a taboo either IRL or in other RP communities, and I definitely do not think anyone should straight up denounce their lore because as much as it has been a bit challenging at times (Like, learning how to even Polyamory, thank goodness for the guide) I feel like I've uh. Grown a bit? and I have actually come to enjoy the generally mature-mindset that I see a lot on the RP community here. I mean, sure, some people still choke up and have a heart-attack when you mention ERP, but that is more the exception to the rule it seems. Thirdly, as a roleplayer I have always gravitated towards the standard human race in the various games, the Miqo'te is the first race that I found I could still relate to in some way but where it's still definitely not just a human - I believe that through playing my Miqo'te, I've managed to expand my horizon and see more possibilities. Maybe in future games I'll be able to take a step further and play a race that is more beast-like than human like. I really appreciate that as a roleplayer, I love learning and I don't think we ever truly stop learning and growing. My Miqo'te is city born-and-raised and is as such not a deep part of the cultural norm of the keepers, but I am happy to say (because it has been fun!!) that a lot of the points where he differs have been recurring themes in his RP when it comes to reactions from others. For example, he's been looked down upon quite a bit of taking a shining to men and generally not wanting to spend his life producing as many kitts as possible. I get a little miffed when people say that all Miqo'te rpers are just yaoi/yiff/anime/insert-your-fandom-fetish-here excuses, because it's a bit of a short-sighted generalization that doesn't fit 95% of the serious RP crowd that has a miqo'te. It's kind of like saying all football fans are violent hooligans. In general, I haven't been in contact with the fandoms and the fetishes that people so often compare it to - I don't watch a whole lot of Anime and I'm not big on the japaneese culture. Literally what I thought when I saw the Miqo'te was that I like cats, in the sense that I find them interesting, and felt it was kind of cool to see that kind of a mix between man and cat. Just like I'm sure there's a lot of people getting interested in the Au Ra because dragons are fucking awesome like. So that makes them interesting to them. Give your local Miqo'te a chance
  12. Main Character's Names: Nailah Quill, Toukta Kahkol, L'nessa Kasah Brief description/Link to Wiki: Nailah | L'nessa Usually online: Anywhere between 3pm and 3 am UK time. Intensity: Heavy
  13. Pretty sure I've caught all of the recent interest ones! We're currently at 66/128, so there is plenty of space
  14. I'll be there! Probably going to bring Thala'to again. Alone this time. ; ;
  15. If I were you, I would continue as normal until we know the launch date, then I would look into moving your now-main onto an alt-toon so that when you transform your now-main into an Au Ra, you can easily use the alt-toon to wrap up the RP that you want to phase yourself out of because you wont have the time/will to maintain both characters with the same level of involvement. And simply allow yourself to take the time needed to get things sorted That's of course assuming you wont continue with the same character on your au ra. I have quite a few alts myself and my secondary alt is the only one I get involved in long term plots/storyarchs because I know I'm able to manage both. So I understand the whole thing with feeling like things can be a bit pointless, as my third alt can't ever really get involved in too much - But at the same time she can have a big effect on the characters around her. The fact that she is also a rare appearance gives the RP a different touch as well as you'll always be able to ask people what they've been up to since last and I find I have to find more reasons as to why she's not always around and that. For me as well though, it's kind of split a little between "types" of RP, my main is very prone to getting involved in srs bisniss where as my alts do better in social/bar-type RP. So when I get tired of all the serious, I usually log over to one of them. That said my third alt is likely going to get sacked/retired in favor of an au ra, all depending on what kind of lore they're served up with.
  16. Awesome! Just to clarify, the end destination will be Ul'dah ^^ With Nako and Kamome on traders & Bryn as a bandit, we'll just need one more bandit npc
  17. Hello! On Thursday the 5th of Feburary at 20:00 GMT (UK Time), I am (hopefully) going to be running an event for my FC. Unfortunately, we are a little under-stocked for a few roles in the event and as such I am turning to you guys. The event itself is a mercenary contract that our company has picked up. They are requested to protect a group of traders as they make their way from the shroud to Ul'dah with their precious wares. The group has been robbed before by a recurring bunch of bandits (yet to be named) that continue to pose a problem for the group. For this, I am looking for 4 people; 2 NPC bandits & 2 Traders. By NPC, I mean characters (on existing toons that are disguised, whatever you feel like using) that are created for the event. You'll have to assign them a name+personality+vague background. Traders can be either mains or npc's - if it's a main, you should be willing to risk a punch or three. The Bandits should preferably be NPC's, as they might not survive the ordeal. Whilst the goal wont be to kill them, we can't make promises. It's paramount that you are able to communicate well, and are comfortable with using the free-form fighting system - and able to solve misunderstandings peacefully, should any arise. Overall this caters to heavy-rp'ers. Additionally, the bandits should be alright with doing some lead-up RP wherein they plan the attack on the traders, this information will not reach the merc 'n traders group oocly nor icly, so it will be a complete surprise. Bexy from KinRP will be NPC'ing as the Boss-Bandit, so bandits will be communicating mostly with her oocly as well. If this sounds like something you'd like to get in on, drop a message here or in a PM. Once I have enough people I'll be sure to update this. If I do not get enough then the event will not be going ahead.
