The following text can be found on posters in Ul'dah, Gridania and Limsa Lominsa. All Currency is imaginative, the event does not deal in real gil. "Did Valentiones leave you sighing for someone to spend time with? Do you feel ready to tackle the exiting world of dating? Then look no further! The Bottom is opening it's doors this Thursday, for a night in the name of the singles. Here you will be able to partake in speed dating rounds, where you get introduced to as many people as you can muster. Each round will last for 10 minutes, where you get to ask and answer questions as you see fit. When the rounds conclude, you can either decide to ask the person you talked with out on a date, or move on to the next table. There may or may not be opportunities to pass the same table twice - such depends on how many show up. So what do you say, why not give it a go? If anything, you might get a fun date out of it! You will find the Bottom in the 4th ward of the Goblet at house number 11. Everything starts at 8 PM. Entrance fee: 500 gil - Covers drinks and food as desired." ------ OOC ----- Hey everyone! We're ready to host an event, and this time we have opted to try out speed dating! This will be the very first time we are organizing this type of event. We'll re-decorate our bar with as many tables and chairs as we can fit in, and will be using two types of chairs to better circulate people. Preferences wont be factored in - If you face someone that is not compatible with your character for whatever reason, maybe you can make a friend instead! The event starts at 20:00 GMT/12PM PST/3 PM EST @ Thursday 19th of Feburary and continues for at least 3 hours. We will keep the rounds going for as long as there are people! If you arrive late, that is fine as well, for as long as we have tables and equal numbers we'll keep on chucking people into the mix. Feel free to note if you plan on coming by, though signing up for it is not needed. Looking forward to seeing people there! TL;DR Version: - Speed dating event - Rounds last 10 minutes - After each round, people on either a red or a blue chair will be asked to move to a new table. - People won't be divided by preference, if someone falls into your distaste, maybe make a friend instead! - Events last for 3 hours and rounds will happen as long as there are people. - Event is open to everyone!

One of my alt's is getting sacked. All I know is it'll be a male because I find the females a little too cutesy. Waiting for the lore to roll in ^^

I've been crafting a bit of "basic" stuff-that-could-do-as-rp-gear for newbies both in my fc and outside of it. I find it's a good way to get people started and that, which sometimes is what people need ^^ I also never charge tips (unless people insist extensively) when I craft anything for fellow roleplayers, one of the big reasons why I advanced crafting to the heights that I have was actually so I could craft pretty things for people. I've also done HQ's en masse to help people advance their own crafting via leves. I just find it a nice way to help and I like the crafting in this game ^^ So that said if any of yous see this and you could do with something crafted, track me down. I handle most of the craft request I get via in-game mail, so just send me a friend request. The highest I can do is 4 star weaving. Lots of people have helped me with a lot of things over time, I definitely support the notion that the community here seems a lot more friendly than in other MMORPG's I think we should keep that up.

Welcome! I can only state that the RP on Balmung is plentiful and there are many kind FC's around. If I were you, I would research thoroughly and perhaps even look into talking with the leaders/officers of an FC you might want to join upon transfer. I think the whole if it's worth it really depends on what people you meet - it might even be that what you are looking for already exists on Gilgamesh

Valentione's Day Date Auction Benefit (New Date/Time!)
Maril replied to Axun Enocan's topic in Chronicled Events
Event is still ongoing for those who're curious -
Personally I do not care. I've been in the position where I've thought that RP'ing the gender that isn't yours was a bit weird - not because it felt wrong, but because I couldn't at the time put myself in the mindset of the opposite gender. But it is something that I've gotten over if you would, from simply being around people who do it. I am a female IRL. About a year ago I jumped into playing a male character for the first time, which in some ways saved me from the worst end of an RP burnout because it challenged me in a completely new way. My first reaction to it has always been "But I hardly know how a you-know-what-works!". I enjoy playing the character greatly these days, but I live in paranoia about other RP'ers cutting the contact to mine because of it - Which has happened. And I know, you can say that "They're just bad people then!" but like.. It doesn't ease on the discomfort of it. I'd rather get tips and tricks on how to do it better, than just get walked out on. And if I might be honest.. When I see someone requesting a specific ooc gender it's a huge red flag for me. You might not mean to sound like it matters because of romantic elements that may or may not cross into the realm of OOC, but that is exactly what you end up sounding like, to me - because of past experiences and even the folk that blatantly state such to be the reason.

I am going to pull up a calendar here and guess.. April 21st or tentatively April 23rd. Because of their tendency to go 3 months and, I quite like Tuesdays and Thursdays. What do you guys think?

So living in a country where having a bicycle is pretty essential according to the norm, I wish I could sit people down and get them to understand that people on bicycles with a battery to boost the speed up hills are not challenging them to a race. A race which they will lose, and/or inconvenience the person whom they appear to have challenged by going slowly in front of them. Which is a problem when the bicycle you're on generally speaking also is quite a bit heavier, going up the hill without the battery on is a kind of torture my legs were never meant to go through. So the only option is to stop up and wait for them to get far enough ahead that you can regulate the speed well enough. Quite a bit of a first world problem but.. Yeah.. They're designed to go faster than a regular bicycle for a reason ; ; I can otherwise recommend investing in one, it's meant that I do not have to take public transport at all (and I do not need a car either) because I can tackle all of the hills around here (my town is basically just one big hill, a little bit of flat valley and then another big hill on the other side), much cheaper and faster compared to walking, and also gets me a bit of exercise.

Last week I called my social worker to check if she needed any papers sent in, because I've recently been approved for a program where I can work on reduced hours, as I am disabled - something that took me about 4 years to get on. Anyways, she replies that she's not entirely sure but she doesn't think so, but is like "I'll ask my coworkers and call you back" And then 8 days pass, wherein I notice that the part of my income (I'm on something comparable to jobseekers allowance but it is split between two parts of the system, again because of my disability.) haven't ticked in and the more that becomes a problem the more i try to call her to no avail. So today I finally got through to her and she said that I didn't need to send anything in until the day I got work. So then I ask why my money hadn't gone in this month and she's like: "Oh I assumed you got a job" Mind you, in the system I know she has access to, she can look up my social number and see that I am listed as "Currently unemployed". Heck she could even check my CV and hire me as the assistant that she cleeeeeeeeeearly needs. But no, It's easier just assume that I have a job despite there being no indication for such. I just asked a question. Seriously. Why. ._.

Mine is set to "MyCode Editor" I tend to always write in a document/google docs first and then put it onto what-ever-site it goes to, because I have a real habit of accidentally closing my tabs/browser and other such related bad luck. This is the only site that I'm noticing the issue I described.
-
Heya! Sorry if this is already a known issue but, I have noticed that sometimes when I got back to edit my linkshell hall topics, the editor erases some of my spaces at seemingly random points. So for example if I've written "them at" in a place, it makes it looks like "themat". I don't know if it's because I tend to copy the text in from a document or what, but it's starting to get on my nerves a bit because it takes time to sit and find and fix It's exclusively in the linkshell hall that I've experienced this problem. I wanted to also ask if there's anyone who has the same issue, just to root out the possibility of it being something on my end. I use google chrome as my primary browser, but I have no idea if that's got anything to do with it.

Should you ever consider transferring, there is a decently sized EU community on Balmung, you can see some of the FC's and people here: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9233 Otherwise welcome aboard, nice to see someone from a familiar timezone
