  1. Do you ever listen to something that isn't in your native language or English? I've got a few bands/artists I like listening to even though I have no idea what they are singing about (unless I've looked up a translated version of the lyrics). One of the bands I listen to like this is Oomph: I really like their music. I do know a /bit/ of German, but it's extremely rusty and more like "Hey that's a word I know. Nice word! Yeah!". They've redone some of their songs in English but I vastly prefer them in German.

    Crushes!

Nailah is not the type to get a whole lot of crushes, and when she does she will try to deny them or shrug them off. She's got commitment issues, so pursuing crushes is not on the agenda. However, she has been caught in them before where it's lead to some uncomfortable heartbreak situations. She does like to flirt and have fun, and has been in several "friends with benefits" type situations. She likes men that takes the initiative and have a strong sort of attitude, there's nothing better but to lean into a couple of strong arms at the end of a stressful day. These days she does not have any crushes on anyone, but is flirting with a few people. A not uncommon situation. For Thala'to, he's much more out there and does regularly get crushes. He doesn't have commitment issues in the same way that Nailah has them, but is a bit slow to get past the just-having-fun plan. He's also got a bad track record for staying true to one (or more) partner. However right now he's not crushing on anyone.
  3. Pledged 5$ since this month didn't turn out to be as grim as I expected. Yay ^^
  4. I usually get inspired at the weirdest of times, and then I'll go mull about it. Sometimes I bounce ideas at friends and see what they say. I do not tend to GM my storylines, which lately has been shooting me in the foot some, as I tend to rely on other people to take on for example a villain role. I do not plan much ahead, and I never decide an outcome, to some extend I prefer to leave myself in the dark when a villainous person has their sights set on one of my characters. In the case of a villain, I would give them an overall goal and maybe detail some of the things they might be good at, which fits into the arch as a whole - but then what happens is something I leave down to the person who picks up the role. Successes and failures are determined on the fly through the roleplay. It's very rare that I know anyone who has the desire, time and ability to pull it off where I feel confident it won't end up annoying either side oocly because it might derail or stumble into other issues, and that ultimately discourages me somewhat from trying. So most of the time I do not have any active arches going on, but will focus on taking part in that of others - which is fun enough in itself When it comes to my characters skill progression, I usually find a way of making it happen without relying too much on other people but still finding a way to involve it. I don't like to just go and write a story that explains why my charatcer can now do more things. Nailah had a small arch which lead to her Aether not being blocked anymore, and for the past 2 months she's been trying to even thraumaturge but is no where near good at it at all yet. And is not destined to be for another 4-6 months all depending. She isn't destined for greatness with it in any way. This is how I feel when I bounce ideas at other people: https://38.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3viy81r8q1ru06ato1_500.gif[/img]
  5. When I work, I stick to getting 6 hours of sleep at a fairly human time. But I can feel how much RP I am missing out on and it's no fun, so when I do not work/it's weekend.. Q: How late do you go to bed? A: As late as 7am and as early as 2am GMT+1/CET. It depends on if I start RP around my usual "I guess I'm a bit sleepy so I'll snooze cause I am bored anyways" time, or if I've had energy drinks (and they're working). Q: When do you wake up? A: I will usually wake up several times, because I am bad at staying asleep (Stress is a wonderful thing), but I tend to get up at the latest around 12PM. My sleeping pattern can be described as 6+1 or 6+2, as I will usually nap somewhere in the space between 4pm and 6pm GMT+1/CET for as little as 30 mins or as much as 2 hours. IF I have an appointment somewhere at 10AM and I will only get 3 hours of sleep, I'll get up anyways. I'll feel like shit, but I have a very high motivation for keeping to my promises of physical presence. Q: doyouregretit? A: Sometimes. Mostly when I drink energydrinks and I end up bored at 3am for some ungodly reason. I'll usually get something productive done, but my main motivation for staying up is RP. So if RP doesn't happen, it's a bit of a fizzle. I will say that I have adapted my sleeping pattern a lot both to being a roleplayer and just in general, as I recovered from a bad case of insomnia some years ago and basically had to figure out how to sleep and not feel utter shit when getting up. I have found that 6 hours followed by a nap during the day is ideal - If I sleep for less or for longer, I usually feel drowsy for quite a while and find it hard to get up. It's absolutely irrelevant if those 6 hours happen in the day or in the night, and I have actually also gone to bed at 9pm only to get up at 3am which is like an hour before most US events start for me. I just can't always do that because i'd be neglecting my dear EU RPing friends.
  6. (For today) Nailah Quill: "Oh my god I am so hungover.. Why am I sober.. Why am I being served water.. This is torture.. " (In general) Nailah Quill: "Today has been the most tragic day of all. We ran out of Wine. Had to travel for half a day to get to a supplier. Neglected paperwork. Worth it." "I wonder if I'll ever recruit someone who is not a Miqo'te" "Hey guys do you know anyone who sells Bacchus at a discounted price?" "I need to hire a secretary" "Do I smell fire? I think I smell fire. Did someone set fire to the house AGAIN?!" (In general)Thala'to: (Selfies everywhere) Thala'to: "Hey guys just posting a picture of my spontaneous purchase! It looks SO cute on me!" (Picture of self in new garment) Thala'to: "Just ran 10 laps around the Goblet! So refreshing!" Thala'to: "On my way to visit my friends!" (6 hrs later) "On my way back home!" Thala'to: "Did you guys know that you have to eat fish three times a week? I decided to eat fish six times a week and I feel great!" Thala'to: "100 situps? Can I do it? Of course I can! Feel that burn!" Thala'to: "Oh twelve. OH TWELVE. My hands are too calloused!! Someone send me some creme, I left mine in Limsa.."
  7. The OP has been updated extensively. As KinRP is an ever evolving company, I've made some modifications to the description so as better reflect where the company is today
  8. Welcome aboard! Remember to keep your seat belt on at all times, it's a wild ride.
  9. I like the look of the Helldiver. I would also like to see a pegasus styled mount. I mean, we have a unicorn so why not? And then I am hoping we'll be able to get a really cool looking dragon to ride about on. Because I fully intend to name mine Toothless already.. *pokerface* Though I'm hoping for something that is lore friendly as well. Beyond the chocobo. I suppose the gryphon might be? Just as long as flying will be something for the masses and not super duper special "Oh my! You have found the last bewinged creature and it happens to like you specifically!"
  10. Y'lani is banned for leaving the tub too early! (It's okay though, we'll just glue you stuck next time )
  11. How many people can fit in the big tub you ask? Well.. About this many. (Special thanks to Gwannes, Makyn, J'kilid, J'inarah, Kellach and Y'lani for a fun night )
  12. I am absolutely addicted to watching documentaries. I blame it on dropping out of college several years ago, I decided that dropping out wasn't going to keep me from learning more. Documentaries might not be the best way, but I quite enjoy it. My personal favorite sub-genres are social/culture and health. I've seen many, but I'd love to hear recommendations from others! So, recommend a documentary or documentary show that you enjoyed watching and feel free to say why As a sidenote, I'll link to these sites: http://documentaryaddict.com/ http://documentaryheaven.com/ As well as youtube.com and dailymotion.com - A lot of documentaries end up on these sites and none of them take anything for letting you watch them. As a paid alternative, Netflix also has a good chunk. I use the Hola browser extension to get to stuff that they wont include in the selection for my country. First one I'll recommend is: "The Internet's Own Boy" It's about Aaron Swartz who co-founded Reddit, his tale is both tragic and amazing. I personally had no idea he'd done so much, and what all came of his actions until I'd seen this documentary. Reddit is such a big part of the internet today, I can really recommend seeing this.
  13. This is a great idea actually, and very well may show how unfounded this paranoia that is showing itself is unfounded. If you wouldn't mind would you? I'm on a PS4 so I cannot log chats. Yep, I'm fine with doing it I'll do a test stream a few days in advance of whichever date we pick and get it working.
  14. I played a character with similar difficulties in Rift, so I understand partly where you're coming from. I would not consider myself overly shy, but I do get my share of self-confidence issues - everything gets much much harder to accomplish if I am doubting that people around me even like my presence. Happens now and again >. Anyways, I solved it by making her "addicted" to a particular brand of alcohol that was only sold in what happened to be the larger RP bar-hub at the time, so whilst she wouldn't go there every day, she'd endure the presence of other people in order to get what she wanted. As she progressed, it also became increasingly important for her to be in the know when it came to rumors and general world news, and so eventually she would start to sit about in the bar (and other bars) simply to listen in on conversations, and through that she figured out ways of casually talking to people, not for the sake of talking to them and making new friends but simply to fish out what they knew. It was a slow progress, but the fact that it was so I think gave me some confidence to randomly emote at people. One of the things that I did then and still do today when I'm sitting in places like the quicksand, is tossing in various idle-emotes which people could react to if they so choose - maybe one of my characters will stare at someone for just a moment too long whilst thinking they wouldn't get caught, and then people could react to that. Heck, you could even have your character do something that might annoy others like.. I know we probably don't have pens as we know them in this day and age, but you know when people click repeatedly with a pen? It's like, the best thing ever when you do it, but when others do it you really sort of want to murder them a little? Something similar to that. The grumpiness could be channeled into a sort of, not-caring about your characters own behavior because if every other person is annoying then certainly you'd be entitled to be a little annoying too. So whilst it is sort of a thing you have to deal with a lot more when you roll that kind of a character, it's not something that has to remain (as) crippling forever. You "Just" (I know it's not easy) need to pull out a chair, sit down and have ponder about how you can motivate them through perhaps non-conventional means. I haven't ever met your character so it's hard to suggest something specific. Character progression can help with a lot of things, and maybe some of Tiergan's friends can help be an influence for change. Expose a character to something enough, and they're bound to find a way to deal with it, maybe even get curious on the situations. And well, if you can think of any way that any of my characters could be of assistance, let me know ^^
  15. The "Shin breaker" title combined with your avatar Cuideag, has always made me giggle secretly. I can just imagine how it'd go down
  16. Which timezone are you in? The reason why I mention schedule is because I am EU, and as one of my friends experienced this morning, if I stay up too late I blackout at the keyboard (apparently  )
  17. I would suggest something that a chunk of the GW2 community did whilst I was there ever so briefly, which was to stream their FC lead meetings. These were done on voice, but there shouldn't be much difference in simply streaming with the chatbox blown up to it's full size. That way people who for one reason or the other can't be there in person can watch what is going on - and it'd be an easy way to show the intentions of the event. It would also allow the whole thing to be re-watched at a later date (all depending on if the streaming service allows saving of the video?) On the flipside, streaming also does mean that some might have to think more about what they're saying (Or the way it is put, cause nerdy guild-leader talk) which I don't know if people would want. If desired and if the time/date fits with me, I could dust off my streaming software - I imagine anyone streaming might want to turn on busy or tailor a chat-window so random /tells don't get streamed. Anyways. I just figured I'd bring it up as an option/thing to consider.
  18. Depending on your schedule, he might be able to sit down and share stories with Nailah sometime. She's spent many years of her life as a traveler/wanderer
