    MercWork

Our first MercWork contract event was a success! Two bandits were captured & surrendered to brassies, one was decapitated and one got away! Will they get out and cause more fuss in the future? Who knows! Thanks for partaking! And kudos to Chris for the screenshots.
  5. Banned because I got a new banhammer. It looks like this: Pifkture borrowed from google.
  6. Me and my bf have our own little language consisting of cute sounds  It's beyond silly and I get super embarrassed when other people hear it I also have tics irl, they're stress related, so when I am running about stressing I get more of them. I try to combat it by not being stressed, but it gets hard at times. They're mostly prone to happen in my neck/left arm. I also sometimes end up sitting with my headset on for hours whilst not listening to anything, and sometimes I then start watching TV and turn it up cause my headset reduces the sounds. Then suddenly I remember and quietly hope my neighbors wont murder me for being noisy.
  7. Never RP'ed with Eleni, but sure would like to Marshmallows are pretty great too.
  8. Generally speaking, we do not. However we can make exceptions if we're sufficiently convinced that the alt is going to be active enough - Usually we've found that alts have troubles staying in the loop due to lack of playtime. Send me a tell or a PM
  9. This essentially. The ripple-effect is big enough to fondle at least a little bit with most characters that RP a lot in Ul'dah, as I see it. From what I can tell, most people's own story-lines are not deeply connected with the MSQ, not to an extend of involving the big story characters in it or to say that they indirectly caused something that happened in it. You could compare it to say, if there was an orbital nuke on an entire zone. People would have to figure out where their characters would have been at that time to ensure they didn't get nuked, and for some it might have been a zone where they had placed some of their story stuff as taking place, such as "this is where my family lives".
  10. I was one of the judges for the Mr. Eorzea - We did give prices to the top 5 + "Mr. Personality" My offer of help still stands, it was very fun last night and I am positive Ms Eorzea would be just as (if not more) successful.
  11. It was very fun to judge! Thanks for coming along everyone & congratulations to the winners.
  12. Y'lani is just the best. I really enjoy her company both icly and oocly
  13. I'll be on the lookout, Nailah is the type that usually has some sort of work to offer ^^
  14. Update: I'm going to go ahead with this. Based on suggestions, I've decided to take Upper La Noscea as the first zone, covering bronze lake, Nym and such topics. I've started collecting as much information as I can, if any of you have any links or useful tidbits, let me know I'll work on setting a date and time, probably around 2 weeks from now. I reckon a saturday or a sunday might be best for most? We'll see!
  15. Banned for knowing that feeling Banning because :tonberry: said so! Banned because :tonberry: is cute! Banned because this is more cute! :moogle: Banned for not posting a cute kitten.
  16. Haven't > and a few other FCs done this? Little late to this one, but KinRP did one way-back-when which was done without the involvement of real gil. I remember that we had it around a time where there were a couple of other auctions going as well (but I do not remember in detail what those auctions entailed) People did attend, and the biggest problem we had was that people wouldn't be "realistic" with their gil - with bids spiraling way out of any control, in the end we had to close the bid rounds prematurely to prevent things going downright silly. I still think that the actual-gil auctions have had numbers that are in the silly-bracket, but there you can also understand why they're so high, since the point is to raise gil. I don't know how much people think about economy with their characters, but I wouldn't really find it realistic when someone who's rping as your average adventurer suddenly has millions of gil to blow on a date (which is where it ended up for the non-actual-gil-auction we had) So in the wake of that, I tried thinking of alternative ways of doing it. One of the things I had in mind was a token system, where you declare that every person receives say 100 tokens. And then they can bid with that. But I never got to the point of testing it, as we started to focus on other types of events as well. I think the involvement of actual gil discourages more than it encourages, because not everyone has a lot of gil to toss at events. In that light, whenever I go to something that has actual gil involved (and where I also pay) its usually because I actually want to support the people behind it anyways.
  17. Domri is just really awesome. I love the new avatar (Saw the full thing on tumblr), so very nice.
  18. It's my full intention to have several guards at the event, so as to protect characters that can't fight My own isn't exactly well versed in such either, so it works out.
  19. I reckon that at least some of it would have to be copy/paste or timed. Chat-bug-gods be willing, and all. Otherwise it might take a long time - though it shouldn't be feeling boring either. I reckon preparing an excessive amount of information, then picking and going on the fly as the situations demand, maybe let people ask questions as well and such, might be a good approach. No, this is one of the cases where I think text macros would be good! Load up the character-based camera, back-peddle when walking to engage the "audience". ...and it'd help if there was a general template so future guides could "replay" a given tour. ...maybe add in some quirks to make it personal. I hadn't even thought about back-peddling, that's actually a good idea. I'll see if I can come up with a template in the process as well. Completed tours could be saved in a shared google drive folder (I am pretty sure you can share them these days) or similar so that they could be accessed, with whatever feedback they might have gotten as well.
