  1. Otte and Mal Shakka and Reqa Dacien and Theo
  2. I'm one of those female players that ends up RPing mostly male characters, more or less succesfully. I've always seen RP as a chance to try something different from myself and my own experiences. I live a life of a woman on a daily basis, so why not try something else? Male characters have also always felt more comfortable to me, and whenever I create a new one they just seem to "fit" into a male gender more than female. ....and I like how the male characters look in this game, so I ended up rolling more male toons than female. I'm one of those people that creates a character in-game, before thinking who they actually are >_>
  3. Eses Fafa rocks that moustache Looks like a very handsome Miqo lady.
  4. So many art-senpais. SO MANY. *goes back to stalking people*
  5. Most of my poor Miqo's are more or less dense, and probably wouldn't understand someone was flirting with them until blatantly stated so. Neyha'li might try and flirt with a person, if he was after something, but it would be more acting cute and on the "oooh you're so strong/pretty" level. Otte would blush and get flustered even from the thought and Z'Shakka...well he's a potato and has no idea what flirting is. Oak would flirt playfully, just with compliments, puns and theatrical shenanigans, be it acting like prince charming or an innocent maiden. She usually only does it as a joke though. Dacien...well he's my flirty wench. He's pretty obvious with his flirting, batting his eyelashes and cooing and purring as he showers them with compliments, using his pretty looks to his advantage. And if the person doesn't seem too angry about it, gentle touches..and then finally a not-so-subtle invitation to go somewhere more private
  6. Oops, it's been a while! Last year was very slow art-wise, but I have done some FFXIV-related works since I last posted:
  7. Name: Z'shakka Tia World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Marauder/Warrior Cards (recommended): The Hanged Man, The Reversed Chariot or Death Reason for Card choice (recommended): All cards symbolize making a decision, letting go of things and being at the crossroads, and change in general. Shakka is at that kind of crossroads in his life, where he needs to decide whether to take a risk and let go of his past experiences in order to move forward, or to stay as he is and focus on his goal only, which is to make his family happy. Pursuing his own happiness would mean losing some of the control and giving it to someone else. To stay put or to change, and risk getting hurt again, he has hard time figuring out which path to take. Tumblr name (optional): tracytigress
  8. I'll try and drop by on Otte, or maybe bring Dacien with his lute, to sing inspiring songs about horses
  9. To me the amount of "cat-like" behaviour depends on the character. Otte for example acts, or tries to act, more like a Huyr with ears and a tail, since he's spent a while in Limsa and wanted to fit in. The only thing he can't control is his ears and tail, so they still show off his mood quite easily, for example his tail twitching when annoyed, and bristling up when really angry. And he likes to use his nose a lot, sniffing the air when in new places and all that. His brother on the other hand purrs, growls, rubs against people, and is more expressive through body language rather than words. He's a tribal Miqo'te through and through, so I figured he would act more "feral".
  10. I got ISTP, though it's mostly because some of the questions I can't answer yes or no to, since I fluctuate between both ends depending on mood. Some are quite spot on, while other are way off. Funny considering most of those jobs I really -don't- want to do! Well...it seems change in career is in order.
  11. While I do commissions most of the time, at times I take time off to do some doodling of my RP characters, as well as something more when duties allow it. Since there are many wonderful artists with wonderful works on this forum, I figured I'd join them to share my FFXIV-related artworks with you! First some speedpaint portraits of Otte and Walking Oak (Well, not so speedy though spending only few hours on it is speedy for me!)
  12. Otte is pretty much this. A kitten that's trying to be bigger than he is. "What you're talking about? I AM a lion!" And Walking Oak is a smiling alligator. Big and scary, but just wants to give you a toothy hug.
  13. Otte's chocobo is called Meeno, mostly because my brain likes to make up two syllable names that sound cute >_> Not sure what Walking Oak is going to name her chocobo, but Ash is definitely an option, though it would fit black chocobo better.
  14. I think it chose voice #12 for Otte, since it sounded most boyish of the female Miqo'te voices, but still had some cuteness to it.
  15. I'll bite, since Otte would be someone with pen pals, in his pursuit of knowledge Otte Dreamwalker - Miqo'te
  16. Otte is from a V-tribe originally (used to be called V'otte Tia), though he left because of personal reasons. I think him meeting one from the same tribe he left from and is at the moment avoiding would be...interesting
  17. I named my Miqo'te during open beta before I knew I was going to preorder the game. Then, after I'd gotten interested in the game and decided to buy it and RP in it, I read about the lore and found out about Miqo'te naming conventions. I didn't want to reroll the character though, so I got creative and created Otte's background around his unconventional name. His birth name was V'otte Tia, but because of personal reasons he has left the tribe, and threw away the tribe letter when he joined an Arcanist guild in Limsa Lominsa. He picked his own surname, thinking Dreamwalker sounds grandiose and eccentric, which in his eyes is perfect for someone practising arcane arts. But usually he only introduces himself as Otte. So, my ramblings aside, it's all about being creative and having a reason for unconventional name, as others have said many times before me.
  18. I mentioned this in other topic as well, but feel free to send a tell if I happen to be online! Otte Dreamwalker and Walking Oak are my characters
  19. I'll most likely come over and lurk as well, as long as swimwear is not mandatory. I think Otte wouldn't go anywhere without being covered head to toe in clothes!
  20. Category A: You, OOCLY 1. Are there any any races you particularly love the opposite (or same) gender of? The models, the history, the lore, anything. Even though I like all the character models, I really love Male Miqo'te, for some reason their ears seem more animated than female's, which make their emotes feel more emotional and "real". I also love their sitting pose. Miqo'te also appeal to me lore-wise, it made planning Otte's backstory and how he ties into the tribal aspect of Miqo'te lore a lot more interesting. 2. How do you view interracial couples in -game-? Specifically, let's not get into a debate about whether or not it's 'gross' to you as a person or if there are too many people doing it. Even when I do find an idea of Lalafel/any other race -couples a little weird because of the huge size difference, I don't mind interracial couples per se. People do what they want and if they find it fun, what am I to judge? 3. Do your OOC feelings towards a particular race make you more open or affect what your character is looking for when they're either flirting around, pursuing romance, or just, in general, acting differently towards those individuals. Not really, for example I like Miqo'te males, but would never see my Roe lady flirting with them, or being attracted to them in general. My characters have their own preferences, that don't have much to do with my own. Category B: Your character 1. Does your character seek friends or partners based predominantly on race? If person is persistant and friendly enough, Otte would most likely befriend anyone, not depending on their race. He is a little wary when meeting new people, but even more so when the person is Miqo'te (due to personal reasons). He also finds Roe and Highlanders very intimidating, thanks to their size. 2. How does your character view interracial pairings and are their feelings different from your own? Otte thinks he is quite open-minded, but he would consider Miqo'te romancing someone outside their race odd, mostly because of cultural reasons. Especially so if the Miqo'te happens to be male. On other kind of couples he would just find it curious and something worth researching about.
  21. Going to add myself to the list of people looking for RP as well! Feel free to add Otte Dreamwalker or send me a tell, I'm mostly leveling nowadays but I'm usually ready to drop that and RP if I get a chance:)
  22. Took this screenie and edited it during open beta. Not the best since my game graphics weren't set to the best (and poor Otte was wearing random fishing gear at the time), but I like the mood none the less. Need to remember to put graphics to ultra next time, if I want to take more pretty screenies.
  23. As a lover of romance RP I found the articles really fun to read! The slow buildup of feelings, starting from acquaintances to friends, then maybe from an innocent crush to budding love, and something more...I certainly like the trip better than the goal (though relationship RP itself can be fun if both sides work to make it so!). Well, let's say I used to read too many of those sappy paperback romance novels, I just like puppy love I'd like Otte to find some romance someday, but I won't force it. Who knows, maybe my loud Roe lady will find someone before him, you never know!
  24. I'd imagine most miqo'te men would be shy if they were wearing panties, so that's understandable: [Mod Edit] :dodgy: As for the topic at hand, I'm glad that that the gathering was set up. J'hared isn't big on crowds but the passing interaction I had with him was quite enjoyable! Would be true, if that drawing from beta would have anything to do with the Otte at the moment. Fortunately he's not wearing panties anymore But enough with off-topic, if anyone has anything to say about my drawings etc, feel free to PM me or use a proper thread, instead of whipping them out randomly and derail people's threads.
  25. Thank you for hosting the event! Otte got to meet some people and actually talk with people aswell, despite his shyness(and mine, well mostly mine), and I got the chance to experience the hustle and bustle of RP events again.
