1. Draconic Enthrallment in what way? In the case of the dragon cultists and heretics? Or in the case of Estinien? In another case? The basics of the two cases I mentioned above are hard to translate to any race or character besides Elezen and Einstein respectively, because they are intrinsically linked. This is spoilery for HW, if there even is such a thing this far out from the beginning of HW when this was first available, so I will leave it off here for now, to get an idea of what sort of information you were looking for? Hope this gets lots of replies, because more dragon-lore is always appreciated, and a discussion of it, even more so!
2. I agree on the account of the SCH being a rare bird, the art of befriending a fairy, and binding it/creating it in the ways of the Nymian Scholars would be a stretch and is probably more a "one-job" sort of thing, buuuut, maybe like in the main job quest for SCH, you could find one already bound? To be a scholar, like any of the higher jobs, you need a soulstone, and it seems that in the case of SCHs, or the ones we know of, the faerie is bound to the soulstone of the SCH, so perhaps if you were an Arcane researcher, you could presumably enter Nym, and do the same? It would be a stretch yes, but make a journey of it, and get others involved, friends and what not, and treat the SCH job with the caliber it deserves, and I think it is possible. (It has been some time since I have done the quests myself, and I am at work, so I can't double check this, be gentle with me! Also...Alka Zolka is dreamy, and he sort of stuck in my mind more than the lore itself sadly...)
3. I have noticed that Ramuh in general is a sticking point for some, when I think really Titan or Levi should be that more. The thing that has really gotten to me in Ramuh after the 7 farms it took to get me SMN weapon, is that people still try to emphasize 2 tanks, when in fact, 2 healers is what makes it easier. Luckily that thought is quickly dismissed when we try with one healer and two tanks and it fails or takes 12 minutes to complete, as opposed to when we then grab that second healer and take it down to one tank or one MT, and it is completed in less than five every single time, we few or no deaths. Luckily, sometimes people learn?
4. As long as we aren't "Dancing on the Ceiling" I am okay with that. ::bow and wave:: No really though, no dancing on the ceiling, it is dumb and I don't support it.
5. I will be on all night tonight if anyone needs an invite! Please contact Momoto Chibito, with your business (are you an entertainer or patron, that sort of thing!), and I will get you on ASAP!
6. Warren...just no. I will accept any of the FFCC except the first, please tell me you mean not the first FFCC...please. I want that bug mount sooooo damn bad...I am kinda confused oh it walks...it has a shell on the front bottom is that like...a wheel or something? Just how? Still want it doh...ICly too...
7. So...I just need to say this: I was mainly joking, using the word sexist, but the resulting conversation which has followed is the flawed thinking that has pervaded the gaming industry since it's early inception. I am not 12 anymore (nor when I was 12 did I have this view), so I don't think things that are inherently "boy-looking" must be boy, I simply only catch male pokemon, no deep reason why. I am not a mod, but I am just encouraging that before you say the things that followed my statement, you think long about how a person of the opposite view of you would feel. I will never agree that Tyranitar should be a boy only pokemon, nor Aggron, nor Machamp or any other "masculine" pokemon. Pokemon is for all genders, and I think it has taken steps over the years to integrate that idea well, with both UI and supporting characters. Sorry to get serious, I just wanted to clarify my view before continuing this.
8. You can beat the whole game with just about any decent team, you don't really need good stats, I just go down the list of pokemon that I can get, that I really like and make a team that way. Most of the time though...I am stuck worrying I will get overly attached to a pokemon I caught early on, and be stuck with it no matter how mush I do or do not like that particular pokemon. I am also sexist (on the subject of pokemon), so I only catch male pokemon if I can, unless there is no other choice. (Never gonna give up on you Chansey!) I also catch one of every pokemon available in the game (I don't trade around unless I -must- have something in particular), which means one of each form too, so not only evolved forms. When I get particularly bored...I choose a job or theme for my trainer, and make a team of pokemon around what fits with that theme, say...ice cream shoppe worker, or...aquarium specialist...herder...that sort of thing then pick lots of pokemon to go with that theme. Gets me through, since I buy every version available of the game and play them all. Still waiting on that Crystal remake though...>.>;;;
9. This LS is a great place to find new and experienced players alike, it is indeed active, with a daily chat count, much of it on-topic to RP, that is quite high. It allows RPers of all walks, Lore-Friendly and Not, so please if you join, have the mindset to accept everyone and improve yourself and others with good discussion! I can say my personal experience with this group was a good one, and I hope others have the same experience I had! ~Momo
10. Best bet in my opinion? Two different things: Moogle Bestie: Working a moogle into your story, met as a child or something, wouldn't be hard, you wouldn't nearly as many protests likely, and you can have that Mog be invisible at times, or off doing Mog things, something to think about though? Raised by Mogs: So this one sort of says itself as well, you were lost in the forest, picked up by Mogs and raised to adulthood, and are close to the Mogs, maybe have one come with you places to experience our society from a different point of view? This one could just as well be combined with the first? Either way, these two would be much better bets to play than your original idea, which you would need to find a very specific crowd to work yourself into, good luck!
11. Marcy dear...you're not a Miqo'te...the only way you can even close to get that short is to Miqoman-crouch lol. These new hats are sure to look adorable on me! (or rather Momo), and I will be making a lot of use of that bed in the future I am sure!
12. Me again! Lots of excitement this week for House of Oschon! After last night's entertainment by the gracious comapny: ~Keeper's Kiss~ which turned out to be a celebration of sorts, all the contracts signed and some of the details weighed, the House of Oschon is officially opening IC! We have been brainstorming on what we may use the house for from time to time, as a spot for events and things, but for now, it is a place the weary wanderers to rest their heads with our company. Special thanks to Alderique, who helped make the night great, always creative and helpful, and more special thanks to staff of Keeper's Kiss and our last minute performers: Marcellain Chavellier and Nathan Telluride, with some amazing a memorable performances! Anyone looking for a Free Company with few strings attached IC-wise, but looking for good company and a home for their character to work and play out their own stories, please give a shout to Alderique Valeriant or Momoto Chibito, or look us up on: http://houseofoschon.shivtr.com/ Applications are short and simple, interviews are nice and easy if you are looking to join, or even if you just have some ideas for us, drop us a line!
13. If you want the bustling and immersive aspect of RP on FFXIV...you need to pay the transfer fee to Balmung. The other communities are small and tight-knit from what I can tell, so if that isn't what you are looking for, as Teadrinker did, I encourage you to pay the fee (fair or otherwise) to get on to Balmung. Once here (when or if you decide to move), join an RP FC or LS right away, -do not- rely only on walk-up RP, though there are places where you can find RP readily, it is better to find a sure thing for your experience to be the best. In hindsight, as legacy RPers first voted for a new server to be crowned "RP Server" we weren't in any way aware that it would eventually become packed and then blocked off from new RPers to get on. It really sucks, but from my experience it is totally worth the money to move. And I do hope in the future that SE makes it a point for transfers to a new busy server within reason for us to do so and with benefits, so that maybe we can start a second bustling RP Server like Balmung.

The Keeper's Kiss

::Scene Opens to a Smooth Jazz Club:: A white haired Lalafell sits laughing with his friends and turns to camera with a soft fake smile. Momoto "I was lonely and depressed, I didn't want to leave my Free Company House, I didn't want to Raid or RP, but then..." he softly pauses, his smile grows ever wider and ever faker, "Then I found Keeper's Kiss." Further laughing and having fun with friends, soccer mom dancing, laughing at fake jokes by the bar with a cute Elezen bartender. "Now, I can go out and live my life again..." he laughs fakely into the camera, taking a drink and setting it down. "Thanks to the Keeper's Kiss." The scene pans out with his friends dropping onto the couch with him, all of them falling back laughing in the most fake obnoxious way possible, while endless warnings about the total debauchery, drunken fighting, and all around den of sin scroll by, read by a voice so fast no one could possibly understand. Keeper's Kiss Commercial End. ~~~~~~~~~ Okay, no but really though...last night I was the patron of an event held by the Keeper's Kiss at their Free Company house, and by the end of the night I felt I hadn't given enough to them for retainer fee. It was just really wonderful time, and everyone involved, from the workers to the guests, seemed to really love the show. If you are looking for a place to have a good time, get in some great BaRP, celebrate an event, see an amazing live show on a great stage, put Keeper's Kiss at the top of your list to host. My retainer Quenzal was a really wonderful negotiator and contractor, very gracious as a host, Vachir was a great performer and helpful even beyond the allotted time of the event, they managed to make the IC opening of our own FC house really memorable, and it was more than I could have asked for or hoped. If I need an event done again, I know that I can count on Keeper's Kiss to deliver, and if anyone needs or wants details on the night, they are welcome to contact me for further review. My many thanks to the whole staff! ~Momo
15. Willful ignorance? Still ignorance. I think there is difference between someone having not great hand-eye coordination, and needing a bit of help, and people just straight up sucking and not trying. I have seen both, one doesn't annoy me in the least, and I am usually the first to say hello, tell them "Hey no probs" if they are new, and then give them basic to detailed mechs depending on their knowledge, or simply just point out major things to remember, but when someone comes in clearly having been carried their entire game experience, and dies multiple times to the both the same and new mechanics at every turn, until we just decide to leave them dead...that is a different story, one that I don't generally comment on unless it gets totally nonsensical, but still a different story as far as level of annoyance. It can happen more than once on the daily even if I only play a few hours a day. A specific experience comes to mind from this week, and I have been having bad experiences all week with certain things, but I decided this week to do Bismarck as one of my instances to get parties to do for fun. I had a BRD...a BRD, who can move while attacking most of the time, not a mage who has to stand in one place for most attacks to go through. He had full Eso gear, some upgraded, and a second lvl Anima...he died...and died, and died some more. I tried to help, it didn't work, finally after literally 10 wipes I asked, why do you keep dying, we are playing the same mechanics over and over again (because we hadn't made it past a certain stage at that point), he said "Too many AoEs, I can't do anything." ...an eso brd with second level anima..."Too many AoEs..."?...okay, all the mages (including myself) >>>> (>.>)...rly? Mind you that is a single instance of this happening, but it really isn't that rare, I am sticking to my guns, and saying there are negatives from both groups that come into this game, because it allows for both, that doesn't mean I don't get enjoyment out of it, I do, but I guess the internet strikes again? This is mostly (like all our discussions) a circular argument lol, but the frustration probably stems more from the sheer denial of it rather than a desire to keep debating it.
16. Cailean brings up a very good point that I think we should all consider in our minds a few more times...BBC has something to offer in all it's various forms.
17. If you pay attention to the Anima storyline, actually it seems there are daily/weekly trips to Azys Lla as told by Rowena, of either...it seems like she says Pirates? But I think there are probably exploratory from both Ishgard as well as the from the Pirates, but who knows? If you want to infiltrate the area, and you feel your character is strong enough, or is traveling in a well prepared group, I don't see why you couldn't? As long as you are aware of: The extreme nature of the land you are about to enter, including the new/old technology of a lost culture, the presence of Garlemald, the presence of highly dangerous genetic experiments, and the existence of soon to be unleashed content in the area (i.e.- Proto-Ultima, and the Warring Triad) So if your character can withstand the journey, the physical challenge, and the attack on the sense and psyche, go go go! And I am not setting those as immovable obstacles, simply sighting the sheer magnitude of what your character may encounter, so that you can stew on it before hand and make good decisions in your RP.
18. There are some great points in here I think. Both from Leggerless, and in replies. Calling FFXI efficient...well, in any form of that word, it is hard to grasp. Calling FFXIV efficient, sure, in some ways, certainly in the ways of communication, if possibly in the ways of grouping as well. Everything in FFXI was tough, it was a more traditional MMO, like that of the some of the original bigger MMOs, and as such, during the time, with the technology available, it was as high quality as it could be without being state of the art, which I think meant further limitations in some cases. Mentioning that, XI was a great game for developing friendships, hard earned and meant for keeps, because of the rough nature of finding people that you liked, that would actively play and connect all the time, and that were willing to jump through the hoops immediately presented, to then jump through further hoops with harder content and participating with those who maybe needed some teaching. As I said, this meant strong bonds between players, you had to have them, not necessarily for efficiency, but to truly play the content and have fun, you really needed those people or you would often just plain fail. This also forced some out of their "hardcore" player shells, into accepting more diverse group of party member jobs (though of course, later in content, there was a definite disparity between some jobs and active available play for those "weaker" jobs), because it was simply more rare to find dedicated players because of the mettle of the content versus the player ability. In FFXIV, perhaps things are too easy? WoW...well...is prone to trolls, and the very swampfolk of the internet, crawling out from under their cesspool, slime layered rocks, and joining parties to be bad examples of the human race whenever permitted. I have seen, in the past, some of my good friends turn on each other over job changes and respecs, because the nature of WoW, allows for these types of interactions and players to thrive among one another, in easy alliances that fall apart and are made again, filled with trollish nonsense, and good play, but with little enjoyment taken from it, other than the gloating of "OPness" in skill to anyone who will listen. That is the nature of basement dwelling folk (Not Hobbits or Hufflepuffs, because my god were those predictions wrong) of the nerd world that is gaming, who don't leave their house, and die of heart attack from too much redbull and doritos, they just aren't meant to be good people, and they bring others down with them. FFXIV, is not like that, but we do get some of that culture here. We get to skim that culture, while skimming the casual player culture too, both which bring a lot of negative to the table, but make things much easier in regard to playing the game. I would venture that most RPers (at least on RPC), with the exception of some vocal few, do not have the mindset of raiders, and are rather more casual than anything. Stated above, that sounds okay, but has plenty of negatives, including but not limited to: Easy gathering but equally easy drama and breakup due to ease of those pairings, less knowledgeable players on all fronts who don't contribute as much to the content that the "higher tier" casual players would like to be a part of, and the "whatever I want, because I paid mindset" which has a whole list of negative things that come with it. You can sort of tell my distaste of the "casual" player mindset. You did pay, indeed, good on you, but some of us would at times like to pay you not to play equally. We would like you to learn the bare minimum of what it takes to get the loot and glamour you want, so that we don't have to carry your every single time unwillingly, and without prior knowledge of needing to do so coming in to a party. "Bu-buh-but I paid though!", yes, once again I would like to congratulate you on doing the bare minimum to be in the game, now would you kindly not enter the DF and find someone who willingly wants to take you to get things to make you look good while your /say and /em interactions take up part of the screen however small at all times of the day. See that, that is how I feel at times. If you know me well, I am not totally unreasonable, I am not totally rude or a jerk to every person I meet, but I am not untruthful in these matters either, I get these feelings, and I am not afraid to express them, just as those who "I paid!" me, get to wear that as some sort of badge. As Warren said...these things do happen, the negative sticks out in your mind after a while, and it builds up until you explode, and if you are a decent person you try not to let that happen in random parties with all the frustration that brings already. But it does happen, and on those rare occasions that person isn't out to be a troll, but rather is fed up with wanting to enjoy something but getting brought down at every (seemingly every mind you) turn. Anyways, that all got away from me, but as I said, some of Leggerless's remarks did hit home, but not for efficiency, but rather for a complicated situation made both easier and more complex due to FFXIV's unique position in gaming at the moment. Not sure how to fix it, or if it will ever change, but there you have it. All you can say is good luck to it, and hope for the best when you log on to play instead of RP on some days. ~Momo
19. I was in the middle of RP with some friends when this came over Lalanet. It saddens me greatly to see such a creative and positive force in the universe, have to go in such a way. David Bowie inspired a generation of youth to rebel and be different, and to accept themselves before letting others change who they were, and that lesson is one that many get to experience over and over through his music all these years later. Hunky Dory was a great album, one that I treasure more than most for the clear way it translated the reigning social atmosphere of the time, and encouraged youth to rise up and older generations to lay down in awe of that youthful tide which is within the individual for all time and does not cease with age, but with loss of hope. But, I think Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars, with it's enchanting and at times sad and destructive words and ideas about the world, both the introversion and extroversion of it, and the deep meaning of those ideas, will forever hang as a tribute to him in my mind. It will remind me there was something so special about a man who could believe in ideals with so much passion as to inspire the world to believe with him, and that is so rare a thing that I cannot help but be humbled and grateful to have experienced that in my lifetime. So thank you to David Bowie for inspiring us, and here is to another 70 years more of it!
20. When you talk about me in chat or on this thread, you are welcome to call me Momo, it says so directly above the little picture of me from Thordan's point of view, a point of view all of you perhaps now share. My name is not now, nor has it ever been OP, though I am indeed OP enough to merit it. I noticed today, there are lots of active new members around the past few weeks, with lots of questions. I also noticed those questions are not being answered as well, or with truthful answers as they should be. There are two different things I will be communicating here: My opinion as well as the basic facts of our "Community". Some of the Facts: ~Mostly we are not a community at all. I noticed this before, when discussing it over a few conversations with different people. There is a sense, an attitude which seems to pervade the minds of many prominent members of the community, that it is indeed -not- a community at all, but simply a coming together of some RPers towards somewhat common goals. This doesn't sound negative at all, except in my distaste for the view, but in truth, it is quite negative. Many of the most prominent members of the community here, they don't want whats best for their fellow players. You can see it in the fake throw away comments that they make, you can see it in the way they conduct themselves, you can see it in the way they speak about their characters, but take little to no interest in yours. Sure, we all speak about our own characters, but you know when we do that, we are meant to be sharing the experience of creation, rather than boasting our characters over and over to others until we grow weary of them at all, and the only people that will RP with them, are either starstruck members who don't care or don't know better, and/or those with egos to match theirs who can stand in relative companionship with a head so big you can barely fit in the room. I know this point will not go over well, I can hear it already, but I also know that somewhere in the back of the mind of the person who reads this, there is a certain feeling that it might be true, do the searching, you will probably find it to be as true as I did. All of that said, there are people in this community who go out of their way, to, on a weekly basis, make the community feeling known to others. They make events, they make themselves visible, but not in such a way as to boast themselves, rather in the sense that they can harbor the creative wills of all those who participate, and allow their group to prosper in inspiration and the connective force between the artist we have here. When you interact with these people, you can feel their genuine creativity and interest in this community as a whole, you will walk away knowing that what they told you, how they helped was because they truly wanted to, and not because they wanted to advance themselves. The main thing here is: Ask yourself what sort of help you want, and what the source of that help is. Is the source of that help genuine or not, is it meant to truly help you and others, or is it a facade meant to increase a persons agenda of making themselves more popular, and then lastly ask yourself which of those you would want for you and your creative work. If the answer is "anything that helps I will take", then good on you, I have nothing against that, but know what you are getting yourself into fully, before you enter into it is my top suggestion there. ~"Roleplaying is what I pay for, so technically I am fulfilling my duty in the game, because I am going what I want." This is another touchy one, and one I have a hard time approaching without genuinely offending some people I actually like. This also has something to do with the subject above, as it is often a point made and filled to the brim with the "mememe" of the "humble masses" of egoists we have on RPC. But I will soldier on I guess. Yes, okay yes, you are "getting your money's worth" by roleplaying and doing little else. Yes, I "have no right" to tell you what to do with your gametime. Heard it all before, but there are some more facts and opinions in there that you out-rightly ignore when you are of this mind, and this extends beyond the RP community itself. I will go into this further at a later time, but for now, let me just say, at it's start, RPC was different than the one you see today. I was there, I remember all of it, and sure there were members much like there are today, but none of them had power over anything, and they didn't make themselves as well known for fear of being shunned by those around who were committed to a united front or RPers, working hard to make the group that we had at the time, really agree and explore a new world together to suss out all there was to know about Eorzea. Now, we don't have that as much, now we are all apparently at war with one another over who's rp is better ( I know I know, hypocritical much?), or who can boast the biggest most ridiculous character, and all the groups and individuals are entrenched and battened down for the "long and hard" of RP community, which if you are reading this far in, there definitely is these days (in my opinion). Balmung, for all we intend it to be, for all we decided for ourselves to bring to it when the much more paltry number of us than we have now, decided to move to it, (I am gonna bold this to make a point obviously) is not ours. When we voted on it to be the RP server, we did not do so in a knowledge that we were taking it over, and gamers be damned if they don't RP. We are not some moral minority, we are now a wide-spread and well known part of Balmung, but as it ever was the case, we do not own it, and never will. We were meant to share it, though we ventured into it without acknowledging the opinions of those we have no conference with, see: Regular Non-RPer Gamers. But we had good intentions at the start of it. Now with all that fresh in your mind, know this, when you refuse to play the game, the actual god honest game that FFXIV is, you are doing everyone a disservice. I know I know, once more hearken back to my above comments, and feed me the lines I gave just as I gave them, but the truth is the truth and I didn't choose it, nor is my "opinion" on the subject, merely something random and made up without factual basis. From the balking and the shouts and rants of Non-RPers on our server, it is the actual reality of it. Non-RPers basically hate us, and having discussed this with various parties both here and in game, I have to agree with some of their sentiments (the real sentiments, not the crazy internet troll ones, because I have both eyes and a brain, and can tell the difference). This idea that FFXIV is nothing but a mode of transportation for your character to come alive is selfish, and I will go farther to say it is simply wrong and not true. FFXIV is an MMO, and for those of you who know nothing about games, MMO means massively-multiplayer online (game). Now, RPG is in there too: MMORPG, but the "G" at the end there, it means Game, as in gaming, as in actually playing a game, and the parts before it imply togetherness. So when you enter with this mindset, "I don't care what anyone does or says, I pay, so I can do what I want, and basically screw anyone else who wants to enjoy the game itself as well as RP or otherwise, because I paid and I should be able to do what I want!", you are genuinely going against the grain and fiber of the implied purpose of the game. And in doing so, you are further allowing those who are dissenters against RPers, to in actuality be right about what they say: "RPers suck, they don't know or care about playing the actual game, they are mostly just taking up space an annoying us while we actually try to play." Indeed you are, and you can say what you like about that, we have all heard it multiple times, and you can just basically copy and paste the given line above for it, -or- you can change your mind on it, not from these words, but rather from your own inner opinions and thoughts, and a wider look at the Balmung Community and not just the mirror as per usual. Even if you aren't an avid gamer, you can play to your level, you can and will get negative comments, but it is the internet, we soldier on for our own enjoyment. You can stop looking at the actual game part of the RPG we share as some sort of "work" to be done, it is meant to be engaging and fun rather than work, and grinding is at your own pace of course. You can choose to help your FC or LS members with things, grow your Rank together, use the buffs given, make friends with those who are not RPers (because frankly we are lucky on Balmung, and there are some amazing Non-RPers here), and just generally put yourself out there to do something that isn't for personal gain, and have real fun and be of more literal use than someone we can call upon to provide a "good character". The above is opinion (almost all of it, with facts mixed in mind you, but I know this will get flamed the hardest probably, along with the rest of it), but I think the opinion is a valid one, not just a "well you can say what you want" one it will probably be made out to be. And I encourage a change of mind, to see more great RPers become good gamers as well, and to make us deserve the best server around, rather than just deciding to populate it, and generally making other peoples' experiences at times awful. If you keep to your "Non-Player" views, I think that is also fine, but I also think you should keep that more to yourself, so that those who want to play the game and RP can have the bigger voice, and allow the community to be one in all the ways it can be. ~For all intents and purposes, FFXIVRP RPC has changed. (period) Every member here will tell you that if they have been here long enough, some with nervous laughter at being shunned, some with disappointment at having seen what it started as, and some with an "Of course it has, this isn't 1.0". I agree with all of them, but mostly the middle one is the one I fall in with. The community has grown, we aren't "just surviving anymore" that changes goals on a larger scale, but do I think that should have changed the minds and goals on the individual, nope. Allowing those who don't care for anything but themselves, and how popular, or how "helpful" or how "humble" they can be/seem, does not in any way do a service to the community which is facilitated here. Do I want to leave because of this? No, I distance myself, interact when I can, as many I know do, I still represent RPC when I can, but not because RPC is all it is meant to be, but rather there is little choice else should I want more people to connect with each other in the community. Can this be fixed? I dunno, not sure at all about that one, there will always be the forum trolls, the big-headed folk with their blind lackeys, been doing this sort of thing a long time, and never seen anything different. The world at large supports a more sociopathic sort than it ever has before, both with "educated" and "normal" folk, so it becomes a really hard balance of who to trust with certain things. Would the change come on a large scale? No I don't think so, and there would be little point in trying because of the kind of upheaval it would take, and the number of people it would leave behind, it is not worth that. BUT, I do think that the slow and steady rising voices of those who want our community to change, and be a better and more unified community, could help this, and take it to a balanced level, where not everything is one way or the other, and supports good and creative folks who want to RP, but don't want to wade through the nonsense presented to them at their entrance into the community. This idea is naturally devoid of my own opinions on the subject of what "good" or "creative" RP are, and there is a reason for that, because those are highly opinionated, and highly varying words in their individual meanings. But as a whole, the idea I have placed before you is not hinged on what these words mean to you, but rather on the subjects I have more directly addressed. To end this, those of you who know me, what sort I am, who are friendly with me, who have RPed with me, who know Momo at all (many do not, I don't RP with a huge number of people, because I like more intimate relationships in RP (coughcough, not -that- kind of intimate)), you probably know I have opinions. You probably know as well, that I am not a totally unreasonable individual, and that I do think about things before I say them, I doubt I could have written on this subject at length without discussing it and observing it for some time now, and without some passion in my truths and opinions. I, am ever, of the mind that one should RP what they want, but I am also of the mind that I will also not share your opinion or your RP should they go directly against what I find to be within the limits of reason for "good" "lore-compliant" or "creative" RP. All of this being said, I will read and accept any replies and opinions, though I am not certain I will reply, I could probably go on, but I think I have said quite enough for now, I am still quite ready to RP with many of the members here, I hope to see many of you at events, and I hope to help some members in their creative endeavors whether that pushes Momo along or not, above all, I hope that we can and will change for the better when available to us, and that being said, I hope the RP Community, one that I am a part of and believe in, but am sometimes disappointed in, will continue to thrive and be greater than it was the day before. Thanks for reading! ~Momo
21. Sweety Darling...Sweety...Sweety, Sweety Darling...No Sweety...Mummy loves you... I shouldn't encourage, when I know all the good plot is gonna be going up your nose darling, I shouldn't...but I also must...
22. The gang is back after their holidays, having fun, wasting lots of time on gods know what! Things to note: ~Momo is after his Anima...OOCly of course! (Also because he loves to torture himself, his Expanse Grimoire!) ~Alderique is sexy once more! ~Arthur will be doing private modeling sessions at some point, watch for updates! Most current RP timeline is centered in Ishgard these days, and gee-golly isn't that just great! Fire-side meet ups, the warm glow of the kettle stove, the chilling winds keeping all those poor people "on the rocks" (literally at times). What a great setting, and one we seek to do justice! Last Note: Pondering of the Week! ~Sure we can have a house party, we can even have a Quicksand party, but where is the fun in that?! I think some Primal Aetheryte Rave action is in order, but it is hard to pick just which one would be best for that gathering? Hmmm...the hard questions in Eorzea...hmmm....
23. This hits home for me too hahaha, I have posted about it before, but I have a hard time playing anything but Lalafell after years of Tarutaru on XI. I do have other races for my alts, but human...I tend to get halfway through character creation and then just give up and go back to something else...it would be interesting to play a human style character in XIV, but maybe would never quite fit for me. I was also thinking about the older fellow bit after I posted earlier, there just aren't a lot of appealing designs for the older generation except maybe...Miqo'te? Roes aren't bad either, but elezen elder designs make me sad, because I wish I could do a bit more with it to make it usable.
24. High Class Prostitute....any race, with a sort of "multiple personality", where in real life they are much less than elegant, but in personal settings of business are the perfect host...yeah...that is all I think...
25. Don't do walk-ups, you will see many people here don't do them, or will attest to them being not the best idea for RPers, at least at random in random locations. Do walk-ups at an event, like a bar meet, something not too crowded but not too sparse, they happen frequently, almost every night of the week, and are great for meeting new people and doing random RP. I usually call that BaRP, because while it is walk up, there is a predetermined setting of RP happening. You can meet all levels of RPers, all levels of lore-precise or otherwise, all levels of class (rich to poor), and of course it involves a bar, so lots of social life and drinking. Quicksand in my opinion, is not a good place for RP unless you schedule it, or someone is running an event there. That is because, not only is the QS a main spot for RPers, it is also a main spot for trolls and regular players who do not RP, or even target RPers. Always always send a tell first to ask about RP before randomly starting some, that way you know to wait for a post to be made or if the person is present and ready to RP right off the bat. This isn't something being said here much, but in person having talked to people who do "Walk-ups", this has been the main thing said to avoid confusion. Lastly, rather than Walk-ups at all, if you don't insist on being a "Free RPer" with no affiliated FC or what have you, then I suggest you find one. Find an FC with people that fit you, or even find a good RPLS that is active and have RPers who RP with each other frequently. These are the best and most steady methods of finding RP, just by saying, "Hey anyone wanna RP?", you can get RP almost any day and any time. If you don't want to do that, then I suggest the above, goto events that happen all the time, meet new people, you may find a group that you can RP with frequently that way as well, and to be honest, in the end, you should be looking for a group anyhow, just because meeting new people everyday of the week isn't going to help you progress your story much whether you progress your character activity or not. Steady companions to RP with is the name of the game, when it comes to story progression, and finding that perfect speed and setting. Good Luck (Also people here are really touchy, as it is a group of RPers, so try to be slightly less generous with the truth or how you genuinely feel, as if it is angry or frustrated, most won't respond well to that, dramadramadrama!)
