This is why Koporo turns the tables and employs such tactics as landing on enemy blades, climbing on their backs, beating up their heads, and breaking their legs. It's also why he carries weapons made specifically to destroy certain parts of the body. He knows he's at a disadvantage most of the time, so he plays the part of saboteur. He destroys them one piece at a time. He realizes his size is, in fact, a handicap against a larger opponent, so he needs to even the odds. THAT is realism. Acknowledging the size differences lend as many disadvantages as advantages. Most people who play the "realism" card only acknowledge it to the point that it justifies their power play. There's realism, and then there's the excuse of "Anything to allow me to kick your ass."

Fwoop! The arrows passed by Edgar's head and lodged itself in his knee as he sat down in the Hinterlands. He looked down at it, furrowing his brow and yanking it out as if it were nothing. With a finger placed on his lip he pondered the location of the attacker, doing some quick calculations in his mind, before retrieving a book from his satchel, this one entitled, Archery for Simpletons. "Hey! YOU MISSED." He launched the book at the attacker, clonking him on the head with devastating accuracy. "Five points. That's thirty-five, now. I'll have that plushy, yet."

I would love for Edgar to one day have a kid of his own, but I feel as though that is represented enough through his animated doll. On top of that, I know the hassle of PCs carrying around NPCs with them at all times, and I imagine the workload involved with caring for a child would not translate well into walk-up RP ("Why aren't you at home watching the kid?"). Shan-Shan is always on Edgar's person, sticking her head out of his bag, and her lack of want or need for food or water, along with her ability to care for herself when needed, makes her much better suited for a child and much easier to roleplay. It'd be nice if Ed ever became a dad, great for his character, but it just isn't happening.

So, to get it out to the rest of the community in as swift of a fashion as possible, I have decided to make this thread. Here's the history of my little popoto's creation, and his current name. You see, when I first created Koporo Aporo, he was a Plainsfolk, with no link to the Gladiator's Guild nor the Sultansworn. He had blonde hair and green eyes, and even spoke more fluently than he does, now. Eventually, however, I ran an idea by the creator of Jajara Jara and Delial Grimson, Cuideag. I wanted to see if I create a character that would be a relative in her Clan. Instead of just creating someone new, I took Koporo Aporo and fantasia'd him into a Dunesfolk, and effectively retconned him in as Jajara's big brother. Eventually, I traded the blonde hair for red, and made his eyes gold to match hers. And Koporo Aporo was rebor-Wait, what about the name? That's the problem we come to. Koporo Aporo follows Plainsfolk naming conventions, and as you all know, Fantasia does not come with a free name change. Koporo, now a Dunesfolk, had the wrong name, and it wasn't until well into my RPs with him that someone clued me in to my error in judgement, long after his name had been established. So, as of late yesterday, Koporo's name is being retconned. In order to make it seem like he had come from the same family as Jajara Jara, and following Dunesfolk naming conventions, Koporo Aporo is now to be called Jajanome Ananome (Ja-Ja-No-Meh A-Na-No-Meh). I'm content with the name, but unfortunately, until I have the money to change it, his user name is still going to be Koporo Aporo. If you have trouble remembering his new name, I have put it in his search info, until the day comes I can purchase a name change. Thank you. P.S. He is not dead Vali, his name is different. STAY FOCUSED.

Echoing Hammersmith here. If a plotline falls in the woods, and nobody is in /say range, does it have a purpose? Equipping characters with hooks for no reason just dilutes the character. You can be plenty interesting without having a special template, and if you have a special template that doesn't add to a character, what's the point of doing it in the first place? "You have four arms and two asses!" "Nah, it's nothing." "You're an edlritch abomination, man!" "It's nothing, I swear."

Edgar is a Summoner, and a mighty fine one at that. Although he's native to Limsa, he does tend to travel quite a lot, so ending up in Gridania every now and then is perfectly feasible.

Koporo has a birth defect that effectively renders his lenses almost useless. For this reason, he wears visors or shades when in the harsh sun.

Now I just need a female Roegadyn in that and my life will be complete.

Put simply, they use Geometric symbols to summon squirrels.

There are a lot of moments in-game where one is simply taken aback at how awesome things are. Those moments of sheer joy and happiness that remind you, had you any doubt before, why you play this game. I want to hear what moments those were for you guys. And the more I thought about it, the more bizarre it became. It turned out, in trying to answer the question about whether or not they existed, I always came to the question of whether or not they would even be believable in a setting like Hydaelyn. I hypothesized that, if there were Aetheists in Eorzea, they would be faced with constant evidence to the contrary, leading to a sort of "La~la~la~I can't hear you~" mantra chanting-esque behavior. In other words, they'd appear as nothing more than bad charicatures. What do you guys think about this? Are there examples of Aetheists in Eorzea? How proper of a representation do they give? Are they believable? If not, what would make them believable? And if they don't exist, is the concept just too bizarre for this setting to ever work? And other questions! Have at it!
