  1. Yes! I want a Japanese war club, for knocking Lalafells out of the park. You must be this much Oni to use this Kanabo.
  2. The torchhat is passed on to a new wearer. Thank you for your dedicated service, Freelance. And congrats to Melkire, for the time being, at least.
  3. I refer you to this video: Fk3uXwn_OQg This thread in a nutshell. Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves of the rule-of-cool-biased batshit insanity of this game's setting.
  4. Okay, okay, just for the record, Edgar doesn't hate you if you used fantasia as a plot device prior to the revelation Ed is not a fan and are now self-conscious, you don't have to be. Uncle Ed woke up at 3:00 AM today for no good reason and missed his morning catnip and he's kind of grumpy. EDIT: Uncle Ed will now go look at drop dead gorgeous Roegadyn girls like Steel Wolf to cheer himself up.
  5. Then why did anyone need to ask? Because many people are terrible at deductive reasoning. So nothing short of Word of God proving a negative will sway them. Makes sense. Also makes sense. Though, you should consider that, since RP is by and large operating on the principle of bending lore, this is not bad on that principle alone. What's making it bad is that it's a really fucking boring trope. If I may be brutally honest, I equate it to selling out your roleplay; you are inconveniencing the people who roleplay with you, just so you can get the most entertainment possible, while shamelessly admitting you stopped caring a while ago. You will never see me do it. Just stop it guys, like, really. Just stop. Also, I was going to edit this into my last post, but I feel it's a little late, so here we go. I absolutely adore this decision. I personally felt that the disparity in the dialogue caused by localization (good, sensitive localization, mind you, but localization nonetheless) was one of many things hurting the experience for Western audiences. I believe this decision will help the plot in the long run, though it's one of many small steps that need to be taken to fix it.
  6. I'd still like to be Ziltoid, if that's alright with you. I believe this is a feeling we can all empathize with.
  7. Then why did anyone need to ask?
  8. Exactly what I already knew. You should all be ashamed of yourselves; you just proved Edgar of all people omniscient and clairvoyant. You may now call me Ziltoid. NOW BRING ME YOUR COFFEE BEANS
  9. Considering that the Ironworks armor is composed of things like carbon fiber... Here we can see some examples of bullets going up against such material; 2/3 shots did not make it through, but looking at the back of the carbon plate, you can see it still made an impact most of the time. So, if carbon makes up the bulk of the heavy-duty Garlean corps armament, we can assume that, to a degree, they may be bullet-resistant. However, if that represents the top-tier at present, then bullets are incredibly dangerous to the vast majority of the equipment we wear. Anything that isn't Allagan or Garlean has a high probability of just having a hole punched through it by a stray bullet, one not even designed to be armor piercing. Frankly, with the existence of flintlock prior to the expansion, this is an issue that I think we would of addressed years ago. Funny how that works. In regards to the Grindstone, there's a couple of reactions to the issue at hand, though both banning and not banning guns pose problems. Ban: You'd need to ban all ranged projectiles in order to justify this to the Machinists, as I have seen uses of throwing knives/axes and arrows, both of which can be just as deadly as a bullet. No-Ban: In order to justify the type of weapon, the ammunition would need to be nonlethal. Whatever fits into the rules that isn't bullshit (Full body nets can go right to hell). EDIT: I'd like to point out we have yet to learn the skillsets of Machinists, so we don't really know what kind of gun they use or if they trade out ammunition types. I think we'll have a better understanding once we do.
  10. Edgar is a bit of a unique character. Edgar has a tail, furry ears on the top of his head, and fangs. His eye is broken, and topping it all off, he is considered a rarity among his own species due to a mixed heritage. As a result of all of this, he can empathize with the state of Au Ra as "strange" or "out of place" in Eorzea, and will probably not judge as much as endeavor to learn more about them. The worst he may do is tap their horns to see if they're hollow or not. Koporo, however, may be less conditioned. Although he is not racist, he has a nasty habit of calling things as he sees them ("SCALY LIZARD FELLARS WIT THEIR HORNS"). For his sake, the Au Ra in question better be patient.
  11. So serious! You stole Memeli's snacks. Prepare to die.
  12. Awww, your art is so cute!
  13. ...Does this count as clothed?
  14. Does this count? FEELS LIKE I'M WEARING NOTHING AT ALL
  15. Popsicles, because of obvious sexual references. Lalafell or Tarutaru?
  16. May I please, please get this out of my system? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTQfGd3G6dg Thank you.
  17. Has no one noticed the DRK job guy has Cloud's famous pose?
  18. I believe the reason our flamboyant fellow carries around those tools yet bears the Aesthetician moniker is because he is not limited to hair, if the editor is to be taken as a form of "pseudo-canon". He just carries them around for the hair part of the job.
