Twelve knows I've wanted to roleplay with Gharen, Roen, Nero, and the like, but I've never really gotten the chance. Interaction with Delial has kinda sent me the message that ICly, Edgar would never be allowed near these people. Like, ever. And that makes me sad. And I desperately need more Femroes in Edgar's life, that's for sure.

The Allagan Rot: An ancient Allagan disease that, based on the fight with ADS, was not only horribly virulent and deadly, but apparently WEAPONIZED to be used on intruders.

Koporo Aporo was initially a Plainsfolk, and as such his name used Plainsfolk naming conventions. When I used fantasia to retcon him into Jajara's clan as a Dunesfolk, I forgot that you couldn't change the name. Now, poor Kopo has an incorrect name and everyone knows him BY THAT NAME and changing it would be a difficult process...

Compliments Galore! Compliment The Poster Above You!

Running of the Piglets is one of the funniest and cutest things I've read in a long, long time, and Chachanji deserves a pat on the back for the goofy smile that story gave me every update. -
Edgar's theme has always been The String Quartet instrumental cover of Panic! At the Disco's "She Had the World". The reasoning behind the choice are manifold, ranging from as simple as "The song itself has a nice beat" to the complexities of how Edgar's backstory makes grim parody of the original lyrics to the song.

I'm afraid I'm with Coatleque in this discussion and frankly, I'm appalled that anyone would take her statements in such a way. Hell, it confuses me, greatly.

March 15 would be better for me, assuming I have nothing scheduled.

My alt, Koporo, is a i110 PLD in need of a T5 clear. I can do both solo and dual-Tank runs, though I prefer the latter. I know all phases of the fight from my clear as Edgar, but I have never made it past divebombs because no one else ever survives it (god dammit).

Square Enix's attention to detail and proof to their precision
Dat Oni replied to Seriphyn's topic in FFXIV Discussion
In my own headcanon, all the drops we get are re-tailored, but modern versions inspired by whatever instance we return from. Like Coil, enough adventurers brought tattered remains of old Allagan clothing so that tailors got an idea of what it might have looked like and made it. And now because everyone is obsessed with everything Allagan, it's highly fashionable. And like WoD? I mean... it's not like demons and voidsent wear clothes. So just inspired pieces. Cuz... a silk robe isn't gonna survive 5,000 years through earthquakes, great floods, freezes, and what all and still be wearable. The damn thing would just disintegrate in your hands if you picked it up. Also that said, WTF Eorzeans have no sense of history. No wonder the Sharlayans left in a huff. I mean, we dig up some 5,000 year old piece of history and wear it to battle or we destroy it (thank you desynth). Sharlayans are all probably screaming: Ah, but Allagan attire is not made from traditional materials. The descriptions for materials specified as "Allagan" all seem to suggest that they've been treated with special materials. Then we get to ingredients such as Allagan Catalyst, Carboncoat, and Carbontwine, all Allagan, and all explicitly stated to increase the properties of materials. With these in mind, I find it much more believable that, yes, that full set of Allagan armor survived several eras in the dirt. Allagan. -

I think he just meant that our replica Curtanas were made to look like the real deal through a lot of hardship whereas these decorative ones didn't go past the basics assuming they used similar methods, for obvious reasons. Also, is AF1 really a worn-out AF2? It seems odd that the Sultansworn would wear something that gave them a "dishevelled" appearance. At least from the WHM quests, yes. ...you basically get super-hand-me-downs. SCH and SMN I believe, are made from old designs meant to resemble the originals. MNK is literally hand-me-downs, as you get the shirt off what's-his-name's back. WAR is hand-me-downs. I have no finished DRG, BRD and NIN, and am unable to answer those. This leaves PLD, which....could be debatable. It could just be that coloring has changed from Thorne to Ul dynasties, as shiny armor wouldn't stay that shiny/consistent if it were all hand-me-downs. It does still lend to the idea that AF1 is old/based off "originals", although -our- AF2 armors would be considered remakes of originals. But now, if we consider that the AF2 tokens drop in dungeons, that could add another layer of complexity I'll just call a game mechanic. Actually, the SMN AF is excavated from Saint Conach's Find. So, really bloody old hand-me-downs. -
The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales

I honestly hate that even now they have yet to make Encrypted Tomestones obtainable from doing WoD. It's been a while. I also despise that we are required to do all three raids in order to earn one carboncoat/twine. This is a nightmare for DPS players, Square, come on. Just WoD should be enough. On top of this, the RNG for WoD is unspeakably cruel. I have to ask, why couldn't they make more than one piece of gear drop from each boss? They want us to run these instances, but they create scenarios where, at best, 4 of 8 people per party are going to get their weekly gear. AT BEST. This is discouraging, and makes it so I don't run it because I want to, but I have to, which suits the term "chore" just fine, but not so much the term "game". -
If you're considering getting into the Balmung server, be prepared to wake up early. It was usually open for me around 8 CST, but it may open even earlier than that. For both my characters, I had to wake up before that time to get them in, and I had to hoof it with their creation. Prepping appearance data ahead of time would be a good thing. Anyroad, welcome to the wonderful continent of Eorzea. Avoid the Missing Member and do not taunt the Lalafells.

It's like a book light! Now you'll be able to read your book in bed! If you can see the text after the paper that glows like the sun melts your eyeballs. Ed is already blind in one eye do we need to make the situation worse?! ... Yyyyyyyes?

Tricks or Tips, an FFXIV "secrets" collection
Dat Oni replied to Ilwe'ran's topic in FFXIV Discussion
As a Summoner, your pets are impeded by almost no form of barrier. The walls put up around the Mythril Verges spawned by Qarn NM's final boss, Adjucator may trap you or other players, but you can actually send your Egi to attack the Verge with a quick Sic or Obey and they will phase right on through or attack from afar, depending on the summon. This also applies to the barriers put up around the Dark Clouds during that one phase in the Cloud of Darkness battle, where 3 clouds are put up in a triangle formation and explode at the end of their countdown. Though you can get trapped inside or outside, your Egis can once again attack or move right through them, allowing you to send aid to other players during the fight, and allowing you to relax should your Egi be off somewhere else when the walls go up. This has saved my life and others on several occasions. --- In the Titan fights, position your Garuda Egi off in the furthest corner of the arena, where it is doomed to have the floor ripped out from underneath it. Not only is Garuda immune to landslides, but when the arena is shrunk, Garuda will remain hovering in mid air, allowing you to keep it from ever taking a hit, as it will end up out of range of Tumults and other nastiness. The only thing that will kill it is your death. However, you will have to reposition yourself a bit in order for your buffs and Enkindle commands to continue working, though not by much to be of any concern. --- The Summoner Burn is the ancient art of cheesing the hell out of a variety of instanced dungeons. It calls for four Summoners (or three and say, one healer, preferably a Scholar) using Titan Egis to beat the ever-loving shit out of enemies whilst you sit back and spam every spell in the book. This strategy was used back in the days when Philosophy Tomes were a thing, and the only good instances for farming were WP and AK. Although slow, the sheer amount of DoTs and the presence of four tanks and four DPS in an instance made for four people can be nasty. Obviously, nowadays, your mileage may vary, but for those Summoners out there who hate DPS queues, it's a nice (and mildly amusing) alternative. For best results, blast "Under the Weight" on repeat while you play.
