I can second this. I had to look it up for my own background as well. How common is the Ala Mhigan refugee backstory? It seems a lot more common that I initially expected. Incredibly common, but don't worry about it, because the primary lore supports it happening. Basically, if you're a Highlander, you're almost expected to be a refugee or something from Ala Migho. It's a given. That doesn't mean you HAVE to be, but it'd probably be easier for you as there is enough Lore surrounding it to fall back on, allowing you to have what you feel is an interesting backstory.

As one of the people who has had to notify Freelance of threads that have turned into all out free-for-alls or petty conflicts, I can safely say I am utterly flabbergasted that this thread even needed to happen. Koporo hated to wear glasses. He hated the way he looked with them on. He hated the way it implied he was visually impaired. He hated the idea that he had a weakness of any kind. He hated that he had to explain to people they were just for reading small print. For me, Lore and its respective bending is accepted based on believability. I once saw a person who ICly told me she was every single job in existence, and had the levels to back it up OOCly. ICly, my character didn't buy it because it is truly hard to believe that anyone in a short timeframe could learn how to use a multitude of different weapons, master those, then learn 3 different schools of magic all operating on conflicting principles. She also apparently used Soul Gems to change gear like some sort of anime magical girl, when that isn't the purpose of a Soul Gem at all. They store the power of the person who wielded it before, hence why they're so damn important in the Job questline for the Summoner: More crystals on hand=Bigger, badder Egis. I had my character do a slight nod as if to say "Okay...Whatever" and decided never to rp with this person.

It's quite simple really. Stop giving SMNs more and more useless spell speed and give us access to more critical chance+determination. In case you forgot, team, SMNs have a built-in system where, if we get a critical hit, we get an 8 second spell-speed buff. That, and critical DoTs do more damage than regular DoTs. SMNs are a class heavily reliant on critical hits, so can we have some more, please? You don't say?
