  1. I know we're more evil-aligned*, but you're welcome to check out Tylwyth Narah. No reason why a sly and manipulative character couldn't wiggle her way in to further her own ulterior goals! *We're not really evil. We're more... good-impaired. Seriously, though, check us out. Ping me (C'kayah Tia) or Kenthy Pennyfeather in game, or here. We'd love to corrupt help you get the RP you're looking for!
  2. Yellow light glimmered from the windows of the cottage. It was solid looking, with pale timbers, wattle and daub and a neatly thatched roof. His leg was burning again, and his muscles ached with a weariness that went beyond the distance of the walk. Still, they had arrived and soon he'd be able to rest. "I'm alright", he grunted, struggling to keep moving. "We're almost there. Just a little while longer..." He closed his mouth tightly, realizing that he was still speaking. He wanted a stick to lean on, something to take the weight off his leg as he walked, but he dared not stop. Instead he doggedly followed the girl, watching her back and the easy way she picked her way through the trees. His eyes grew aware of a change in the light and he looked up to see the door of the house standing before him. He breathed a sigh of relief, looking at the girl and mustering a smile. "We're here..."
  3. I came late! Okay, here goes. Here's C'kayah as a breakfast: And his nemesis: Or is it the other way around? I don't know...
  4. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why would you want to do this? Why should I fake how much gil gets fined from me when the real thing should suffice? It's all pretend money anyways. I mean, Otto's character class really isn't "Syndicate-connected wealthy merchant"
  5. Historically, dual-weilding is an extremely defensive fighting style. Sword-and-dagger, sword-and-cape, sword-and-shield (yes, a shield is a weapon). All focus on using the second weapon to bolster defense. Here's a good video illustrating what I mean. The Martinez Academy (from which this is taken) is one of the few remaining living (meaning there's an unbroken line of instructors) western martial arts schools, so they know their stuff. 6. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why would you want to do this?
  7. I know Otto's mentioned that he wants something light and fun, but I'd like to suggest that you put some thought into making getting arrested a consequence of something you do in RP, rather than simply a scenario that you act out. I've done both sorts of RP. I've done scenarios where it's all "Okay, now I'll get arrested and frog-marched to the gaols, where...", and scenarios where Sultansworn RPers (hi, Nat!) have spent a long time investigating actual RP crimes C'kayah has been involved in. I've got to say, the latter is by far much more fun than the former. There are a couple of things you have to do to make this happen: You have to trust the cop RPers involved. Since this becomes a real game of cops-and-robbers, you both have to trust that IC information only will be used, and that it's properly scoped. By scoped, I mean both characters can only use information that's ICly available to them. You have to engage in actual crime RP. It has to be in public. You have to accept the fact that things you do while you're RPing as a matter of course can and will be used against you. And lastly, you have to be vulnerable at all times that you're IC. By vulnerable I mean you can say "Sorry, I'm OOC - in queue for Coil" when the cop character comes up to you, but you can't say "Sorry, I'm RPing but it's closed". Think about giving this a try. It's crime RP from a bottoms-up perspective, as opposed to a top-down ("I have a plot, here's what's going to happen") one. You lose the coherent, integrated plot that you might have in a top-down RP, but you gain both an organicness to your RP as well as a fascinating intellectual exercise.
  8. Okay, that's about the dumbest thing I've ever seen on an MMO forum. You'd think they'd put a "your current main character is X", like they do with the rest of lodestone. They'd have bonus points for making a "Change your main character" link on the error page.
  9. I can't bump it (I get a "You don't have a high enough level character" error ), but I'm bumping it in spirit!
  10. K'nahli, is the issue that you don't want to give your bank debit card number to SE? You could do something like buy a visa gift card and dump money from your bank into that, and use that to pay for your FF sub...
  11. When are we planning on doing this, by the way? I've got to duck out Saturday for a wedding, but I'll be there the rest of the convention.
  12. It was a little jarring seeing Crofte in her armor last night... For C, I think nobody would really expect this drunken, womanizing crime boss to be as good with kids as he is.
  13. Kage doesn't appear in this one at all! I was putting together a shopping list for some CUL items, and this Hyur comes by and just makes my day: [2:01]Tash Holbrook wanders off to find a whore. Irritably. [2:02]Tash Holbrook seems lost in thought. [2:02]Tash Holbrook: Hey. 'Scuse me. [2:02]Tash Holbrook waves to you. [2:03]Tash Holbrook: Where do the whores go? [2:03]C'kayah Tia grinned at Tash. "Hello, there" [2:03]C'kayah Tia laughed. "Wherever you pay them to go, really" [2:03]Tash Holbrook ... [2:03]Tash Holbrook: -Duh-. Where do I -get- one. [2:04]C'kayah Tia shrugged. "Pearl lane? The Quicksand, maybe? What are you looking for? Big strapping Highlander with a greased chest and funny, round little ears?" [2:04]Tash Holbrook: ...I need a chick, actually. [2:04]Tash Holbrook: She can grease her chest if she wants. It ain't for sex. [2:05]Tash Holbrook shrugs at you. [2:05]C'kayah Tia smirked at her. "You shouldn't have any problem finding one of those, either. Greased chest or not." [2:05]Tash Holbrook: Quicksand, huh. I know that place. [2:05]C'kayah Tia shook his head. "But I don't care what you want her for, you don't have to try to convince me that you're an innocent..." [2:06]Tash Holbrook snorts. "I ain't. That's why I need one." [2:06]Tash Holbrook: So I can find one at the Quicksand, huh? [2:06]C'kayah Tia pursed his lips. "You should be able to, yeah." [2:06]Tash Holbrook: All right. Thanks. [2:07]Tash Holbrook stomps that direction, muttering. [2:07]C'kayah Tia: "I'll bet, at this time of night, you can just shout what you want!" [2:07]Tash Holbrook: ...Oh. [2:07]Tash Holbrook waves to Maryoku Kaimetsu. [2:07]Tash Holbrook: Hey! [2:07]Maryoku Kaimetsu bows courteously to Tash Holbrook. [2:07]Tash Holbrook: Uh, 'scuse me. How much do you charge for like ...advice? [2:08]Tash Holbrook: Not sex advice. I'm great at boning. [2:08]Tash Holbrook agrees wholeheartedly with Maryoku Kaimetsu. [2:09]Maryoku Kaimetsu: Ha. Um. What kind of advice? [2:09]Tash Holbrook: So, uh.... [2:09]Tash Holbrook looks around, slightly shifty... [2:10]Tash Holbrook leans in a bit. "I'm lookin' for like .... medicine?" [2:10]Tash Holbrook murmurs, "You know, the kind you take when you don't want to be knocked the fuck up?" [2:10]Tash Holbrook asks quietly, because who knows. Shit could be illegal here.
  14. Awww, thank you! I'm happy to help a fellow FC out! <3 Just don't tell Titor we sold it to criminals, okay? Please, by all means tell him, C. I would love for word of where you live to reach a certain sergeant's ears through his unit's latest recruit. Oh, we're destined to meet again sooner than that, Osric... *purrs*
  15. Some of us villains are nice and friendly! ...and maybe not always malicious. Some also have a lot of gil, and more importantly, know how to spend it... *purrs*
  16. I've never been able to play a real psychopath. I've played full-on evil characters before, but they've always been in the context of an evil society.
  17. I happen to know you're easily portable, Kage. You're coming. <3 I have a really big duffle bag. So do I. And it's my car. I wonder if you can drive a car from inside a duffle bag. One way to find out!
  18. Nat, Franz, Roen, C, Zac *5/8 I happen to know you're easily portable, Kage. You're coming. <3
  19. Grab me (C'kayah Tia) or Kenthy Pennyfeather in game, and we'll talk!
