  1. That is exactly what they do. When you have a song up, it drains your MP. When you are out of MP, the song disappears. It's a spell of sorts. That said, I am still undecided on where to allocate my points at the moment too! DEX for damage is desirable, but I'm not sure how much PIE will help, or if having that song up a little longer is worth the sacrifice of damage. Having a song up causes -20% DPS from the Bard, as well.
  2. Patience unfortunately the only thing we can have right now. There are a lot of people locked out still, so you're not alone. Just know that this will all clear up over the next few days. While disappointing, it happened in 1.0 as well and we were still all able to get in! Don't worry it will be worth the wait!!
  3. Balmung just crashed. They'll prolly restore it shortly. Beta beta~
  4. Hahaha that is so awesome XDD Don't worry guys it will calm down soon. It's a new class, so everyone's excited about it! <3 Eve you could submit feedback about that on the beta forums! They may tweak it if it's an issue for a lot of people.
  5. I got nothin'! Actually dealing with the stomach flu, so I just hope to be able to sit up tomorrow long enough to play! :frustrated: And in that case? Water, lots of water...
  6. Glad to see you guys decided to stay on Balmung..
  7. I'm just confused because if the battle of carteneau happened in 1572 and the people who were fighting were teleported away and return 5 years later wouldn't that make it the year 1577? What am I missing? or was the whole 5 years thing misinformation that I've heard? The Battle of Carteneau happened in 1572, you are correct. It was 1572 of the 6th Astral Era. However, the Calamity that occurred during the battle is such that it caused a new era. It is now the 7th Umbral Era. When we start a new era in Eorzea due to such an event, the years start over at 1. So it is now, in ARR, year 5 of the 7th Umbral Era, not 1577.
  8. Thanks for posting that screenshot. I knew there was another reason I was leaning towards them being polyamorous, I just couldn't remember what it was.
  9. While anyone can do anything they want, as everyone has complete control over their own character... Being present at such a momentous moment in history (and manipulating the magic used by Louisoux not only bends, but breaks lore completely, in my opinion. It's not a matter of filling in the cracks missing in lore at that point. Roleplaying is not the same as just writing. We work within the world someone else makes the rules for. That takes some getting used to, but it's very rewarding!
  10. Duno. They like they'd need to be polyamorous too still with the few males they have. Who knows~ It seems like a big cultural thing to happen to not mention... especially when they go through great lengths to describe the breeding culture for the Sun Seekers. The options are either: 1. They happened to forget to describe the Moon Keepers are polyamorous even after going through describing the breeding rights of the Sun Seekers in full detail along with names for their breeding specifications, situations, and cultural norms... they just forgot... 2. The Keepers aren't polyamorous. It could be the case but it doesn't seem to make logical sense that they just "forgot" to mention a key bit of lore for one group after going over it in detail for another. Given the matriarchal ideal and the fact that female Miqo'te were known for going off into the world at much higher rates it seems much more likely that, rather than forgetting to write lore, less female Miqo'te of the Moon Keepers settle down to form families. After all, they aren't necessarily needed for breeding stock and families are small anyhow. Further a little under half of the NPCs from 1.0 appeared to be Sun Seekers (the ones with names. Since some of the Moon Keepers had Sun Seekers names I might have miscounted mobs). Given traditions and who-leaves-where it seems to work itself out there. Another alternative: The breeding traditions of Keepers weren't nearly as relevant to their naming styles. That was a naming conventions thread, after all. I'm sure we'll find out more in game. And only one Keeper in 1.0 had a Seeker of the Sun name. Damn confusing dancer girl from Ul'dah.

  12. I looked for that place in the beta, but I couldn't find it anywhere near Ul'Dah. I saw the base right outside of Grid and the base right outside of La Noscea, but I couldn't find that facility. Didn't even know where it was until you said so. Still, it's an industrial zone, not a military one if I'm correct? I recall there being quite a bit of fortifications and even a high level area with level 40+ magitek mobs about. I'll have to look again in phase 4. It's in Northern Thanalan. There is a Castrum and everything.

Haha, he looks awesome. I too love the poof!
  14. I looked for that place in the beta, but I couldn't find it anywhere near Ul'Dah. Still, it's an industrial zone, not a military one if I'm correct? It's near camp Bluefog like in 1.0, just more expansive, in Northern Thanalan. The "base" in Thanalan is actually just north of that, Castrum Meridianum. /end derail
  15. Well I can break it down real quick! Race (the overall: Hyur, Elezen, etc) Clan (the sub: Midlander, Highlander, Duskwight, Wildwood, etc) Tribe (for Miqo'tes, used in naming conventions)
  16. Aysun is unaware of much of the Garlean's advances over the last 5 years, 'kay. Was answering ICly.
  17. Pretty sweet, gonna do it now for fun anyway! Just wanted to point out you should change "Tribe" to "Clan"!
  18. "Gridania, even with the Garleans on their doorstep. The other two 've got other problems already within."
  19. Adjusting colors so they are not so nasty from the transfer and making minor tweaks that weren't available before. Smaller bust, different tail. Super excited.
  20. Dude. Sitting in chairs is the best feature in ARR ever. I squealed like a spaz when I sat in my first chair.. Welcome. x3
