I did that very thing for Aysun in 1.0. Went all the way to meeting Minfilia ICly and then she just was like NOPE and GTFO'd.

So like. I'm from Nebraska. I'm living in Nebraska. My rant of the day is about people who generalize/stereotype others...

Order of the Raven's Eye - Allagan Ruin Expedition

SOB. Moving that day. Sounds like a super fun time though! -
I figured it wasn't your intent to step on anyone's toes either, I just tend to play devil's advocate and wanted to point out how it may sound to people!

Well, most of us treat the Seeker tribe thing is that there are smaller sects of each tribe. So that no one is stepping on any toes or claiming to write lore for the tribe as a whole (or 'the remainder' as you put it). There are plenty of people playing that they are S tribe that AREN'T part of the established sect, but that doesn't mean you can write for them! I would encourage you to apply this to your own sect of the S tribe rather than 'the rest.' That said, kudos on the research. I like the migratory influence leading to pilgrimages. At first I figured you'd go with the 'wanderer' aspect as far as migratory goes, like they lived 'on the road' all the time rather than established villages. Some other things to think on as a RPer would maybe be how they handle 'outsiders' or how they interact with others (like the Limsa citizens) - do they go to the city often? Etc.

The people who are concerned are the ones who violate that rule frequently, probably. ding ding ding. Again, I'll say it. I'm not really "nice" here. I'm blunt and word my arguments neutrally and speak freely. Usually my arguments are met with meme's and people being troll-y, like they are trying to shut down the argument because they don't agree with it. You don't agree with it, tell me you don't, don't be a jerk about it (Even worse don't be condescending which adds nothing to the convo beyond "Look how cool and detached I am."). This isn't rocket science. I started seeing this behavior over the last several months. It bugs the crap outta me. It's probably why I don't bother with most actual discussion threads anymore. Having to weed through all the I-disagree-so-I'm-derailing is just frustrating. -

I said it on tumblr, and I'll say it here: Sure, but if they decide to not link horns to face type then they’ll have to make Miqo'te markings not linked to face type as well. Won’t happen. Look at the character creator as a whole and you’ll see that each race has things that parallel the others in what you can change and what you can’t. They’d have to revamp the entire creator if they wanted to change this one thing. People seem to forget we have the same problem with Miqo'te. No, it's not the ears that are linked to the face, but the markings we get. There's no mixing there either.

Au Ra Character Creation Screens discussion!

"Short Person Syndrome" is a force to be reckoned with. That being said, kinda surprised. 7 feet males and females at (about) 5 feet? That's one hell of a difference. ... .... Dude, doesn't that mean the men break their women during sex? Ohmygod. Hi, my 4'10" Miqo'te character is engaged to a Highlander. \o/ -
As a real life lab person, I can confirm we do this (maniacal laugh+coffee) a lot. Titor's character is spot on.

[Q&A] Legacy and non-Legacy: What does it all mean?
Aysun replied to Aysun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Believe it or not, I updated this post for reference since it's still relevant, I hear! -
I only take issue with folks that ERP "non-canon" on the side, or create their character with the intent of ERP being central to all their stories existing only to really act out their fetishes and such. In both those cases, I simply don't RP with that person and ignore them (and in the past, call them out on it if they try to claim they're doing anything else but that). That's not the kind of RPer I want to be involved with for RP in general or ERP. That's all I'll say on the subject!

I suffer from something like this - really bad! - though mine manifests differently. It took me awhile to realize it and to figure out how to explain it. It still doesn't make sense to my RP partner when I do explain it! My problem, personally, is set up. If someone wants to RP with me, or I want to RP with someone, I can't set it up OOC. I can't just casually come up with a reason to be somewhere and say 'hey want to RP? we could meet here' to someone in /t or work out a scene before hand. I shut down. I can't RP. I can't come up with anything to type. No reasons to be there, no motivations. The only way I can easily, naturally RP, is to just go IC somewhere in game and engage ICly - which is rather hard to do. These days no one seems to just go hotspots (other than the Quicksand) and just.. do things IC or loiter a bit. This is one of the reasons I adore LS RP, because it allows me to just jump right in IC no matter where I am and then have IC events/in-person stuff flow from there. I haven't found a way to get over my issue in 5~ years of XIV RP. People think I'm insular/cliquey and uninterested because I don't PM them or initiate RP OOCly. I've accepted that this is just how it is for me, and accept the judgement from others with no hard feelings if we do ever RP. I call it stage fright, because it feels the same as walking out on stage and just completely forgetting everything you're supposed to do. Deer in the headlights go! Our manifestation of RP anxiety are different though - and I think that's a good thing. Yours is not something I think you have to 'accept' so much as just work through, or modify your RP habits. Is it in public situations where you clam up? Is it in 1-on-1 only? Do you need to simply ask OOC if the other person minds your shorter posts til you can get in the groove (so that you don't stress about them)? Length of posts, prose, etc, was a big deal where I learned to RP. If you posted without a "cut" (that is, had to cut off your post and continue on another line), you weren't worth RPing with. I have yet to meet a person here who expects post length to be met equally. So long as you are making an effort and the scene is enjoyable to all involved, that's all anyone cares about. It's a great thing about this community. Everyone here really understands most forms of anxiety, as we all seem to suffer with varying degrees of it, too!

So who made the decision to make a race that looked like races people wanted to play? Did the players make that one too or was it just inferred, and if it was, by whom I wonder? I think it's kind of an obvious business model that you give the customer what they want. When an overwhelming amount play x type of design, then they obviously like that design, therefore give them what they like.

Can I go to Ishgard right after purchasing Heavensward? Yoshida says "No".
Aysun replied to Blue's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I guess this is why I always try to just wait and see for official patch notes. Conflicting crap, and rumors, and mistranslations. Ugh I say! Also, if you're being harassed and know they're from here or have a name, contact a moderator with your evidence. Pretty sure that's against the rules here as well. -

Aysun replied to Blue's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Concerning the bolded... I'm confused by what you're saying here. Are you talking about the expansion content (which is definitely level 51+ content right off the bat) or talking about the patch 2.x series content? The former case is obviously incorrect, but even the latter case makes no sense to me, because you're gated by ilvl anyway and having access to level 51+ gear should only make those ilvl gates easier to reach... right? The main story roulette only gives (now-worthless) soldiery tomes and it still sees tons of action to this day. Not sure what you're worried about here. If anything, I'd be more concerned about the low-level roulette which has always been a bit slow and will likely only be even slower post-Heavensward (especially if they follow through on the new jobs NOT starting at level 1). At any rate, there's going to be TONS of returning players plowing through that old content simultaneously, so this is really only a concern months after Heavensward's release. Oh, I can agree with that. Not being able to enter Ishgard at all is a bit much, but then again, the story event that allows us access to it is supposed to be a momentous event, and if you haven't reached that point in the story and yet still have access to it... it's a bit jarring, isn't it? This is just one of those things... gameplay and story separation might be preferable here, but frankly I can see the call going either way, and they chose to emphasize the story side of the equation. That's all there is to it. Please note that it's been confirmed that the new jobs do not have a class associated, BUT you DO have to level starting at level 1. Once you rename or delete a character, that name is fair game for others. It's not a glitch, as was stated. I have to wonder why you're recreating her after going through so much to kill her and another RPer's offspring without consent though. I think that's why I'd just never give up my main's name even I'd I was done RPing her. Too attached!
