  1. Miah'wo Lyehga... Yeaaaaaaa-no. lol.
  2. First vote.~ *Gets shot* Ryanti's family gets all the credit for this. He could afford all of the fine, soul-stealing private education he received. That and books, books, books. His statement in my sig is his handwriting, and he can obviously speak, and read. So he's pretty much proficient in all terms of literacy.
  3. Character creation, the world in general, the new local, the PvP. The PvP. The F:love::love::love::love::love::love::love: PvP!
  4. This makes me happy that I chose not to RP in 1.0. :frustrated:
  5. Synstylae Rosa. Just kidding. I have a d*(!&.
  6. I am kind of curious why we all have to be little kids.
  7. I'd say anywhere after 3 pm CST. I'm not as much of an early bird as some of these people lol.
  8. 62 from Alabama. Pretty good. Livable. Surprised it's only one more then Chicago.
  9. I feel like Kerr answered the server thing. I'll answer your questions regarding diversity. There are a decent number of people into all kinds of things here. I, personally, am very much into PvP. There are quite a lot of people here who are interested in PvP just as there are people here that aren't. There are people here interested in raids, in endgame content, etc. Certainly you have your totally dedicated RP'ers, but most of us also have a significant investment in our OOC futures. I can also certainly tell you that we aren't full of elitist pricks. Anyway, hope to see you on the Front lines. EDIT: Exploring the Linkshells in the Linkshell category will give you an idea of what some of us are planning.
  10. For some reason, I found this statement funny, lol. "Well, usually Painters would paint Ishgard from the direction of the Southeast. It is quite taboo to paint it from the Northwest." lol. Sorry. I'm a child.
  11. Hopefully NA, since I live in NA. Sorry, Europe! :dazed:
  12. You sir, are a genius. A genius, I say.
  13. I am surprised no one has mentioned Neverwinter Nights 2 yet. I'm not exactly a Dark Fantasy kind of guy, but NWN2 has the most deticated, hardcore section of RP'ers I've ever seen in any game. It's not exactly a MMO, but it's... I don't know, it's weird, but very unique and a step forward in video game RP. Entire RP communities create servers that could hold 50 or so people, build it from scratch, and have it be 100% RP. You could even LEVEL by roleplaying. Had some amazing times on the Daleland Servers back in the day. I don't play it anymore though. I'm just not so into Forgotten Realms like most people there. But if you're really looking for some solid RP, that's a good place.
  14. Really making me wish I could draw.
  15. Ryanti is very much into poetic things, such as acting, storywriting.. and he has some musical talents. I too have always wondered if a group of RP'ers can pull off something similar to an organization that provides entertainment and shows such as plays. I can easily find this as something Ryanti might get into for a hobby. Count me in.
  16. This is me post surgery. I went in this morning and they butchered my hand wide open. I accidentally looked and saw all the horror. Now comes the recovery time. I could really use a white mage or something.
  17. EDIT: Please draw my hair as I describe it in this thread. Not on my avatar. The hair on my avatar isn't a perfect match. Thanks. I would be immensely honored to have anything sketched in my name. I am not an artist, so for me, seeing what I created with my mind in image format is amazing to me. My wiki page: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Ryanti_Veanysus I only have one picture right now. Going to steal Cassandra's template as well if she doesn't mind. Name: Ryanti Veanysus Race: Miqo'te Keeper of the Moon (No facial markings, round irises because he is halfbreed). Profession: Ryanti Veanysus is the heir of a wealthy noble family. He is of the bishonen prince archetype. He's pretty, he's angelic, and graceful. In-game classes: Paladin. If you wish to draw him older, PM me. Height: Quite tall for a Miqo'te given his human father. Body: Slender, but toned. Feminine traits, without going overboard. Bishonen. He's not exactly chiseled but his body is scarless and there's no fat anywhere. Hair: A radiant white, with bangs falling down in a curve, covering a bit of his eye. His hair is short, round, and boyish, delicately combed and always washed and taken care of with great maintenance. He can afford it. Eyes: Aquamarine Skin: Pasty white. Not pale, but radiant. Markings: None. Clothing style: Ryanti prefers soft fabrics, and delicately crafted clothing (though I won't pressure you to bust your butt making designs lol), he has a large taste for fashion in regards to sophistication. He has a knack for beauty, and he would go well beyond most men in preparing himself to go out. Here are some visual inspirations. Ryanti Himself. This picture is so accurate of his hair, I don't need another. And of course, I've always liked this picture.
  18. I personally feel that it's as terrible as it has been at launch. Everyone's still playing sexy Harry Potter, and RP typically just consists of lots of hanging out in a bar, talking about how demon possessed they are. (True story) It's a large reason why I don't really play much at all anymore. Yeah I definitely understand. Had to shove past all the tavern/bar RP fluff before you could get to the real meat of the community. Trying to RP in TSW felt like.. being in an ocean of Lovecraft Hipsters, cigarettes, demons, doom, and... skinny jeans. .... Yeeaaaaaaah. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's TSW. Maybe I just don't like Lovecraft. At all. But eh.. I played it for a week. It's meh. I can play great American MMO's but my artistic style and storytelling perspective will always be... JRPG'ish. It's just my home and where I belong in the course of styles. Which is why I put more work then average on this character here. FFXIV is the only MMO where I'm not teased silly by the community because my character is a bishonen or 'anime inspired'.
  19. Ryanti issssss.... *bites my teeth* He's a combination of.. This. And.. this.
  20. Okay, so. It's been a while! After taking in the feedback, and spending.. quite a bit of time completely redesigning Ryanti's backstory/family.. I can very well say I completely redesigned the wiki page! It should be MUCH better now. Once again, feel free to enter your input if you like. I'll paste the link on this page too if you're feeling lazy and don't want to go back to the first page. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Ryanti_Veanysus I'm happy with the redesign, I hope the RPC is happy too. (Also, if you want to have your character involved with my backstory, or family, it can happen, just ask me about it.) EDIT: Fixed a spacing issue and an issue with boxes.
  21. I'm happy that I'm getting surgery on my hands tomorrow... to get rid of an affliction that has been with me since early childhood...
  22. It's quite alright. Ryanti will definitely be exposed to many things during his training. On purpose, mostly. To basically just verse him in the way of combat, adventuring, and in some cases, war. But no, Ryanti will definitely not be the best at everything. He will improve.. at things, the more time he spends learning them, of course. Certainly won't be the best though. Ryanti has a natural talent and incredibly deep well at being brave and courageous. To live up to the deeds of his father, whom was an Immortal Flame all the way up to when the Meteor hit. But it's not something he realizes he has. If anyone would be the one to... tell him he's not good at something, it would be Ryanti himself, at least when he starts out. He's going to be very self critical about himself, and unsure about himself. I'm going to use his weaknesses to define his strengths. But he's going to grow, as I said. In time, he will be quite the beautiful, majestic warrior with a magnetism and charisma that his father had. Although certainly he wouldn't be a master at it. People twice his age in the Flames would be. Looking way into the future, when he is a fully fledged Samurai... hm, perhaps then would be the time to go to the barber shop and 'settle down' his hair a bit, and give a more.. experienced expression x3. Make him much more, at peace with myself, and sure of his decisions. Though of the course the philosophy of a Samurai is that you are always learning. I don't really think I could ever say I was/am/is a master at any Job, really. Unless it is bestowed upon me by others. I could say I'm really experienced, or that.. I have natural talent, or that I learn quickly. But mastery truely means you have nothing else to learn except from the students you teach. It'll be kind of complicated though once I'm level 50 with full pvp gear and everything. Unless I don't count that in RP. Once Ryanti is like that, I could go for the Obi-Wan approach. Be a 'master', have a student (maybe)... but still be, relatively young, and having much to learn still. I can see being a Master rank wise much moreso then 'mastery' if that makes sense. Although I still think, other people should make that distinction, not myself. I'm just rambling now, lol. :dazed:
  23. I didn't mean you should literally be RPing that you're learning dragoon or monk or black mage for years. I meant the game's lore kind of implies that it takes years to master each job's art. My point is if you envision your character as something, they should at least have some loyalty to the job. I'll use Uther as an example. Uther was born in Ishgard and is a third generation Dragoon. This explains why he's great at it the second I unlock the job. I'll dabble in other classes and jobs of course, but say I wanted to play Paladin as my main job and not play Dragoon anymore. The Dragoon job is so ingrained in Uther's character that I would have to create a story arc as to why he's becoming a Paladin, and I wouldn't RP him as a master of the trade for at least a few weeks or months. (Not years, because frankly who has time for that? It's a game.) This doesn't mean I'd play the job poorly on purpose or I would level it slowly. I just wouldn't RP that I'm a boss as a Paladin after one day of running around killing squirrels. Sorry for the confusion. That makes a lot more sense. It's kind of why I'm using the practice of making Ryanti's starting age quite clear (17-18)... and then as he progresses in, learning this, learning that, becoming this/that, instead of numerically keeping track of his age, I'm going to make it more vague. (He's a young man, in his 20's, a growing man, etc.) So I'm not really specifying how much time he's putting into becoming 'boss' at his class IC-wise to give me some leeway, and also not setting a bar for how long it would take either. Different people have different philosophies about time passing IC. I intend, for a long time, in keeping Ryanti's age associated with him being a young man. Maybe I will change that much later on, but for now that's what I'm aiming at. There's enough years there for me to do what I want to.
  24. That's my thoughts exactly. And it doesn't seem too hard to pull off. The former seems like it would be very easy at least.
