Spruced him up a bit since Phase 3. I decided to give him small irises, and a stronger color in the eyes. I made his tail a little longer, as well as lightening his skin up even more, and reducing the redness in his skin. Also, YAY HAVING HIM IN THE BENCHMARK! I CAN FINALLY GET ACTION SHOTS OF HIM DRESSED APPROPRIATELY! :bouncy::bouncy::thumbsup:

I am forced quite often to eat Subway during the semesters I have class. Because it's either that or Taco Bell and Chic Fil'A. Unless I wanna drive and pay money that's not coming out of my financial aid. So despite me really preferring either local substations or places like Firehouse, I'm very familar with Subway. And how shitty their subs are. And how razor thin those slices of meat are too. Greedy bastards.[/i]

If Ryanti were to have an item on him that defines him, hm... there are three I would like to mention. The first is his family's signet ring. Passed down through his family. As per tradition, the style of the rings are exactly the same from one generation to the other, but each individual person gets to pick the gem.

The greying of the MMO and what does it mean for RP players?
Ryanti replied to hypatiala's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I would murder a baby Dove with my bare teeth if I could have a combat system that combines the methodical, timely pace of the more passive, tab-targeting skill-based theme, with the more interactive, precise, dynamic pace we see in action games. (GW2 tried, but did it quite awkwardly.) Being a PvP nut, I would of been a much happier clam if ARR was designed so that I could do things like move out of the way, dodge, jump onto some pillar and jump on it, etc. reminiscent of something like Chilvarly, or Mount and Blade. At the same time, I wouldn't want combat to be twitch, entirely. I'd like for it instead to be soft-lock with pre-rendered animations for the skills. So it would be like a 100mph chess game, people trying to predict other people's techniques and methods in which to flank, surprise, or bewilder opponents by being creative with the abilities you have to offer. I also would like to have active blocking. Rolling as a Paladin, I have a shield.. I'd like to use it. And be rewarded for y'know.. actually using it. I don't really care much about the combat system when it comes to PvE, but in PvP it makes all the difference in the world. -
This.... I'm anosmic which for those who don't know means I have no sense of smell. I was born like it and so often forget about it. This has some real world issues but yes I can taste food I prefer strong basic flavors, sweet, sour, salt. Anyway a hunter who wears leather I would imagine blood, sweat, and leather, not to mention where ever he has been recently. When he's clean and not hunting he would probably not smell of much as any perfumed soap would probably be quite weak to anything other than another Miqo'te. I cant really say any more than that and I certinally couldn't describe the smells as I don't know what they smell like. If someone could lend a hand it would be appreciated. Imagine this. Maybe this'll make it easier. Smelling something is like flavored air. Like tasting the air. Except with your nose. Tasting flavored air with your nose. It's not as strong as with taste, but it's the same exact sensation.

It's a channel called HowToBasic. It's disguised as how to videos, but the reality is, it's just him being absolutely insane. -
Ryanti is very concerned about his public appearance. So naturally, if he's seen in public, he would have some kind of cologne on. Possibly something rather icy, and musky sweet. Like a burberry, or Silver Mountain Water, or Cool Water. He's open to trying many fragrances, but his fatigue of the desert does mean he usually goes for more 'cold' products. Regarding his natural scent, I would imagine something akin to a clear, slightly vanilla smell, like a spring dew in early morning. That kind of early morning mist smell that is clear in form and is really easy to pass through the nose. Obviously, when he exerts himself, that scent will change, but I haven't thought much of it then; I also would not exactly know how it would smell in a logistical sense with him having Midlander and Keeper genes. Props to you, Eva, btw, for making this thread. A very unique and delightfully engaging thread.

Best way to officially petition for looping music?
Ryanti replied to Dameon's topic in FFXIV Discussion
For those whom are asking what the actual option is, it's called the BGM loop option. I too am a little sad that it's not in the menu. But phase 4 might prove me wrong. -

Now you can make your own dubstep at home by following this simple instructional guide! [video=youtube] -
Considering Ryanti's cultural location of birth, family lineage, etc. I suppose I followed naming convention. But not out of intention. Some naming conventions for the races are way too limited. I understand that if you hear a name, you should be able to tell what race they are, but.. it's not like IRL, for example, every Asian will have an Asian name. (I know an Asian named Frank.) I would say.. the more your character's family has to do with their own race's culture, the more you should. But if you're making a character in an enviroment or a situation where.. it isn't, then the less you should.

I've always been vague when it comes to time passing. So that I can be flexible enough to work with people with different views about it. I never try to be exact about days or years in which events happen to my character. I just sort of, describe time in a basic manner. I only have to worry about aging. It's a balancing game but I'm good at it.

100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character

You better have the glasses, plates and silverware provided by the Veanysus Dinnerware Company. Being serious though, we really need volunteers in open beta to perhaps craft formal wear for those unfortunate (like myself) to be a lower level or whatnot and need something at least decent to wear.

That, to me, is believable. Regardless of different features other races may have, we're talking the time span of many, MANY years. It could of happened. Also, divine influence, maybe? Could also be influence of magic. You really can't tell with fantasy worlds, which is why I am basically treating it like other fantasy worlds. I dislike it too. But it's become the standard. I don't want to imagine a Lala breeding with... any other race. Don't worry, I have a rather deep chasm when it comes to what I can not be horrified with... but holy crap. The biology there is so crazily different that even the fantasy world aspect of it can't unclean my eyes. If you were to ask me what the base race was, it was probably either a totally different race now extinct, or Hyur, or Elezen. Simply because Humans or Elves always seem to be there first. But, yes. It is unable to be studied properly, and is difficult to explain. Best route is to say that it's possible to do with races that 'make sense'. Not the most logical answer, but the best to handle the situation at this point.

Much more of an anime guy then a comic guy... western comixxxxx...aahhhhhhh...:? But: And I choose him because of Peter Parker. There's one little trend about every single Super Hero that I kind of.. dislike. That trend has to do with the fact that every single super hero is a super person. What I mean by super person, is that they are always some kind of experiment, or awesome kind of superhuman sort of.. thing. The identity of the hero always has a billion things going for them. Whether it be, oh, they are some sexy billionaire. They have this awesome genetic mutation. They have double D breasts and a snake tongue. They reap fame, fortune, and they're just the star of the friggin' town. Even if they are labeled as outcasts or some shit, they are always either sexy, or badass. Peter Parker / Spider-Man.. was the first super hero I saw whom.. was just a guy. Not just a guy, but a teen, someone young, who eventually goes to college and stuff but y'know.. he's a geek. A nerd. An awkward somewhat-socially unsuccessful person. He's nothing... special. That's what I love about him. How he ends up becoming a Superhero by accident. I suppose Captain America is somewhat the same but... he becomes this huge, ripped hunk. Peter get muscles, yeah, but it's a swimmer's body. It's nothing too.. ridiculously photoshop-magazine glamorous. He's not arrogant. Or full of himself. Or a witty talker-doer. He's just trying to do what he thinks is right, and his struggle is something I can relate to. He reminds me of what would happen if just some.. boy, happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. With great power, comes great responsibility and the responsibility aspect I also love about him. Aren't you happy I didn't say Deadpool?

I'm not really that geeky about super heroes. Not as much as other people are. But I'll put in my brief two cents. In today's time, people are more focused on depth and gray morality when it comes to super heroes. They want to see open flaws that are easy to spot, or.. challenges that heroes overcome. Superman was the first super hero ever made. In the time he was made, everything when it came to entertainment for young children was over the top. Superman is what he is. Super. He is a higher being then a human, being an alien, which at the time was a plot device designed to allow Superman be better then a person for not being human in the first place... so therefore, he is Super. When you deal with Superman, beyond the tons and tons of Kripton/alien/scientific lore that he has now, he is the most traditional superhero. Therefore, when it comes to his personality and his demeanor, he is rather, well.. traditional. Superman is very good at defining the ideal image of a super being. It's just going out of style nowadays because people desire more complicated heroes whom are neither not super, or.. not heroes, or.. struggling to deal with the issues of being a hero. Superman is more of a person that people are supposed to look up to rather than relate to. That's how he was designed as a character, and it is pretty much what he represents. He's idealistic. Some people believe he's one dimensional. But if you're a real comic book nerd and look things up and such, Superman himself is rather an intriguing character. He's just a little bit harder to appreciate then other heroes, because we see this big one dimensional aura about him after being exposed to all these other heroes. I remember people saying the same thing about Captain America in the Avengers movie. I think it was just, once again, because he was the traditional one. I like Superman because he reminds me of back in the day when things were more straightforward, and he's sort of a person who's.. mannerisms are quite literally super. A God among men. It pulls at the child in me that just says "You know what, I just want to see a person made out of the epitome of awesome beat the living shit out of bad guys."

We all need to remember that. Final Fantasy is not the real world, and doesn't work like the real world. It's a story. It's a fantasy reality. Remember D&D? Half Elves, Half Orcs.. LOTR? Same thing, really.. they look just peachy fine to me. Health-wise and everything. Let's not dig too deep into comparing our real world with different ones, shall we? Interbreeding isn't that big of a deal like it is IRL. Races in fantasy worlds are more akin to human races IRL. Not different species. I know they seem more like different species from a grounded view. But again, this is a fantasy world. We aren't supposed to be completely grounded on it. I promise you if SE made a character that is officially a half breed, he won't be an abomination baby.

I think you might get children heavily following one parent or the other but I don't think a complete lock out of one sides genetics would happen. I also think that you could have both sides of the family represented in the children so some are more from keepers say while others have a seekers looks. The fact that the different species can mate throws open a whole lot of interesting questions. Could it be that long ago we all looked the same and have diverged from that pattern, if so what did the base stock look like. Also with out any lore set in stone about it other than that they can breed we could have a situation on our hands where the offspring or their offspring are infertile and couldn't mate at all. There is also just the logistics of such a paring, some just would not work from a biological role point (lala/roe). Sorry for going off on one but I study behaviour and biology so this is really interesting to me. Common consensus is such where, because we can't in-game, make half-breeds, that the commonly accepted facet of taking main traits of one parent was the conclusion we came up with. So I am definitely with Aysun there. Stuff like hair color, eye color, skin complexion etc. can contribute from both parents, but y'know, we really can't do something like make a half-genetic person in-game, so that's pretty much the rules we have to work with for now. I see it as dominant/recessive genes. Human recessive genes, for example, allow us to have one thumb on each hand. If we had the dominant gene of two thumbs per hand.. we would have two thumbs per hand. Ryanti's ears and tail and slender feline shape are dominantly Miqo'te. While his face, height, hair, etc. are dominantly Hyur. Genetically speaking. If the genes flipfopped recessive to dominant and vice versa, Ryanti would have Hyur ears and no tail. But then he could still have a slender body frame. You can play with it. That doesn't include clan interbreeding, though... which.. I have not looked into and currently have no real.. say about that because of it. I never really thought about the whole infertile question. But infertility only really happens with either chimeras, or animal hybrids in which it is just plain difficult to breed unless forced. Or, y'know, more difficult then usual. As far as my situation goes, with Hyur/Miqo'te.. most of us in the RPC with that specific pairing have reached a common consensus that Hyurs and Miqo'tes can breed normally, without complications. Most of the time. Ryanti himself is a stable organism and he's fertile. It is just, y'know, his children will have Miqo'te features. His 'Hyur' side is his hair, his eyes, and the structure of his face, which is less feline, and also his canines being less pronounced. Also, he's taller then average Miqo'te. That's how I've written it out anyhow. Plus, I picture places like the depths of Ul'Dah and Limsa to be rather morally loose. So interspecial.. pairings would probably happen more commonly then expected. Hence why I find it difficult to believe that you are pushing nature or created an infertile .. thing, from doing such a thing.

Just a small reminder. If you're gonna be a Warrior of Light, remember that means that people whom your characters had a connection with either before or during the Battle, that did not teleport with you, will probably have, at bare minimum, hardly any memory of you. Or none at all. If you wish to avoid that situation, you might want to explore loophole options. Like for example, having a possession of yours with your name on it somewhere where someone else can look at it and remember the name, at least. Or something. So just letting you all know. My Legacy character fled from the battle. So he did not get teleported.

Steam: Bainstriker (I use it mostly for western games and multiplayer. I'm a Mount and Blade and CS fan when I do. ) Xbox Live: Mofo Sith Lord (Mostly Single player games nowadays with consoles being so out of date..)

I usually hang with the default UI slightly modified. Mostly just pushing the hotbars closer together, and extending the chat bar as well. This thread has motivated me to play around it next chance I get.

There is not a single word about the subject out there officially. I don't know if they will ever address it. What has been established is really nothing but player-created lore. Is it rather acceptable to say that half-breeds in this game take on the physical features of one race and the genetic complexion of both. Ryanti has his father's generic complexion but his mother's features. It can be rather iffy. It's usually acceptable that Miqo'te and Hyurs can breed, as well as Elezen/Hyur, Roedaygn/Hyur.. that's all I really know of people that have done half-breeds. But things like Lalafell and Ro... yeah. Those are not so acceptable. I was suggested to go half breed because I was having issues with creating an appropriate background for Ryanti, and it gave me a lot of depth that wouldn't be there if he was otherwise. I honestly didn't want to go half-breed at first (because eventually, somebody will always give you crap about it), but I warmed up to it later on. It's just way too convenient for me to not do with my plots and stuff.
