Honestly that's just the kind of RP you expect to find when you hang around the quicksand or the alley behind it. Yes of course that's not always the case. But I wouldn't ever expect to see two people humping each other in the corner of the Canopy in Gridania. But there's a big difference between seeking romance and just seeking ERP, though they do of course overlap at times. It all just depends on what kind of RP you enjoy. Some people just like social rp and aren't looking for a deep story to throw their character in, and prefer just slice of life and social character development so finding love and making out is part of that. But I think it just comes down to where you look. People that are already part of a FC or storyline aren't going to post on making connections, because they already have those connections, and like others said it's usually the ERP type of people that go through RP partners pretty fast and would have a higher need for finding new ones.

Y'id would love to buy some drugs :thumbsup: I don't really know anything about drugs in Eorzea though! But I'm sure we can work something out easily enough. :bouncy:

Was hoping she'd be from Y tribe, because then they'd have not getting on with it in common. But even still I guess that's still something in common anyway. Would be nice to meetup sometime and figure out a connection we can do. Not sure how well the timezone difference will work out, but I'm up late most nights. They could also just make Balmung the RP server and offer free transfers for non-RP'ers. but that would mean they are aware of it in the first place.

There's a miqo'te chocobo hunter in the forelands so it's easily do-able! From the dialogue in that quest they don't seem that common there though, since she's kinda confirming that Miqo'te are great hunters to the quest giver. That's the only area I've been to so far though.

I think a small community can work out, and I'm sure it would slowly grow if people stuck with it. There will surely be new people playing with SB, just gotta hope they come here first and find out what server to play on. But I think it's unlikely that the EU community would up and move from Balmung. The biggest factor in this is everyone is willing to "throw alts" at a new server. But there's not really anyone saying they want to up and move their main. I think it does have more potential than past efforts however, since Balmung isn't going to get any bigger, so the new players have to go somewhere...

Yeah this is my biggest gripe with event hosters. Especially when they have two event nights, one for NA and one for EU... yet they still start it at almost midnight for us. Most "EU Friendly" things start at 11pm onwards and that's UK time so it's even later for the rest of Europe, which just isn't viable if you have to wake up early for work. That said, I think the biggest problem an EU server would have is the lack of random walkups. I can see nearly all the RP taking place in private housing and the best thing about Balmung's housing situation is that it forces people to find alternate RP spots.

That's mostly how I RP, and the people I RP with do it. I'm all for big paragraphs if you can type them fast enough, but if not it just turns into a whole lot of waiting for a post that doesn't usually add much. Except OOC context that I can't really apply without meta gaming. As Y'id is supposed to be whitty/sarcy and quick with responses, I find it just doesn't fit the character style at all if I have her standing around taking in the environment every other sentence, and rather just have a few quick words to say she notices something or just smiles/smirks ect while the majority of it is speech. I think you're fine doing it though, I never run into issues myself! Sometimes I do feel like I'm not contributing enough but that's probably a whole other thing :tonberry:

Y'idya left her tribe like 20 years ago, so she's pretty much given up on any tribal culture that isn't hardwired into her (Such as her name) and is pretty against them in general.

Balmung all the way. Sure most events will start at 2am your time and still call themselves EU friendly, but there's plenty of RP around during the evening/night.

Welcome! I think most people here are from balmung now! I'm not sure how big RP is on Jenova but if you find it lacking then I seriously recommend transferring a character over to Balmung :thumbsup:

Hi again! We're in a pretty close timezone, so we should try and make a character connection at some point :thumbsup: As for the website side of things, I'm not really experienced in doing it. But from briefly doing a GUI unit at college, and using a lot of forums in my life. Ryslo had some pretty good advice already also... But from the user interface side of things I'd just try and make it as simple as possible. People have short attention spans and if they can't find the threads they need to find, they will either repost...Or just give up. This site has a pretty great layout, all the sections are pretty clear and you can find what you need to within a couple of clicks. Only thing that confuses me is the linkshell and FC sections.

Hi! Y'id matches this one quite a bit! Someone also old & sad about their past. Bonus points if they're also widowed and/or like drinking away their miseries on occasion. Although it's been twenty years for her now. While I wouldn't say she's close to over it, she's only really upset by it when it comes up, the rest of the time she just avoids it by hiding behind sass and humor.
