  1. Kal: "Dude that was awesome! You wanna go a round or few, or you got someone special? Holy shit I need to do something, at least come help me kill some more shit, that shit is badass! Wish I could do that!". She is pretty much an adrenaline junkie so initial fear over almost biting it would be gone quick enough, and yeah she'd be willing to bed the person, or at least go out and continue on with whatever it was that caused her to almost die in the first place. Wouldn't have an issue with being friends unless they seemed like an asshat over all. If they turned out to be doing things she had a moral issue with (draining life from innocents/kids/environment (on purpose just to kill things) etc, killing people/things that don't need to be, basically evil or just actual-asshole type of people) then she would likely either try to find a way to take them out herself or alert people who could do something about it because she doesn't have a problem with people having power, even a black mage's power, but she does have a problem with people using it for evil/against people or things that don't deserve it. Dheina would probably both cry from almost dying and be afraid of the person, but as long as they didn't do anything to her and was willing to help her to a safer place, she would deal with it. If the person seemed nice enough she wouldn't tell anyone, and may even defend them against others, but if they were a jerk and/or seemed to have been causing problems in the area, especially in the twelveswood, then she would alert people to the BLM to preferably drive them out of the area, or if needed take them out to protect others. Sam doesn't really care as long as they're not a threat to them or causing any major problems, and offer to do something for them as thanks. Armi would want to see about learning what she could from them. Cardea'd thank them and see what they wanted, then try to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. Because nope, not worth the risk to herself being around something that can tear holes in the physical plane, bring down stars, summon demons, open portals to the void, etc Samhain would see if they wanted to mess with people or try to find out more about what they do even though she's more in to Axes and spears than magic. Twin Rova is.... well pretty much going to be a BLM anyways because name sake, so wouldn't have any issue with them.
  2. Kal will be curious and probably very rude with finding out about them, and probably touch/grab their tails or horns a lot "These are sweet! You ever kill anyone with them? Can you feel when I do this? Why you grow these things?" etc. Dheina will be somewhat freaked out by them. Curious, but mostly she's going try to avoid them and watch them to see if they're likely to be problems and make sure they're not actually demons/voidsent out to kill everyone or screw up the twelveswood. She'll likely be a lot more harsh than she is with most others for any minor things they do while in the shroud. She has pretty standard issue with strangers in the twelveswood and their appearance doesn't help. She's friendly enough over all and willing to help people, but if there is a situation where the elementals may get upset or say no for help with something she'd be unlikely to do it or try her best to keep something from happening, because it will effect a lot more people than just the person who did something wrong. Sam will be wary, but they tend to be wary enough with most people. They'll figure as long as they're not causing problems it's not an issue, and it'd be interesting to learn about them as well. Armi will probably be fairly cold to them at first because of appearances but would give them a chance. Cardea will likely be all over them and making friends. She's kinda weird to begin with an not really judgmental of people unless they have issues with Dusks/Elezen. Her interest tends to be largely superficial anyways and she tends to not care much about what goes on with most people around her, so her line of thought with them is "even if they're a threat to everyone, long as they don't cause problems with me personally I don't give a shit" Samhain won't really give a shit and I may remake her as one anyways. Not entirely sure since I'm not really impressed by the females though. Not a major character I play right now though so not a big deal.
  3. Depends on how it's handled icly. I usually roll with it but it the person starts god-modding I say to hell with it and start making it ridiculous and godmod myself and make it clear I'm not taking it serious because of what they're doing. I'm fine with doing rolls too though if I have to do it for every action it gets tiring and can be less unbelievable. And for other characters like Dheina, I don't really want to do rolls for most actions because if she had a lot of good rolls and beat someone who was really strong and skilled then that situation itself would be ridiculous because I rp her as being skittish and afraid of fighting. I've had her in situations that she has won for the most part, but it was because she happened to get the upper hand and/or managed not to get her ass kicked until someone else stepped in. Like the situation a friend of hers was being threatened. Attention wasn't on her, so she jumped on the guy's back and started biting the shit out of the guy's neck and clawing them up as best she could. She did a lot of damage, but not enough that she could take the person out, but he freaked out over it and backed off. Another situation she got in a fight with a goblin (Warcraft) and only won because because she managed to hit him in the head with her staff and he was already drunk so he went down, and she dragged him out in to the street to get run over by something... and really only two times I can think of when she technically "won" a fight. (Oh no wait there was the time fighting a wolf and she used nature magic to use tree roots to impale and pull apart a wolf that was attacking her and others, but she also got bitten up badly and needed help with healing, especially with her crying too much to do much herself) With her and just about anything, it's like a cat verse a human. The cat has the potential to do A LOT of damage and cause a lot of pain, but in the end the cat isn't likely going to be able to kill the human and the human is still going to win if they're intent on hurting/killing the cat instead of freaking out about the pain caused and letting the cat go and giving it the chance to run away, or whatever kind of situation. And with how I play her she's most likely to run away, cry, or panic, so if I'm in a fight with her and we're doing rolls, and the person continues to lose rolls and she ends up winning even with my rping as her mostly fighting in defense and trying to escape... well come on that's just ridiculous her kicking anyone's ass. I'd rather roll for dodging with her and running, unless she's in a position she can't really dodge or run away. I am planning on having her train for rogue/ninja stuff (though icly not though the guild, but a friend who wants to help her with defending herself better since she sucks at everything besides magic, and even then she's better with healing than offensive spells), eventually and then she'll be a bit better with fighting, but even then it'll mostly help with her avoiding fights. Kal is either way and depends on who she's fighting. I have fun with Kal losing because she usually puts on this big front about how awesome she is and acts so over confidently about what she can do. She has a lot of power behind her and is a scrappy experienced street fighter that could do a lot of damage if that was the goal besides just fighting for the hell of it/for fun, but she doesn't have much professional training for anything and is often reckless with her fighting so people that have a better idea of what they're doing could kick her ass, and she tries to avoid serious fights that arn't more or less brawls that there's no real winner but more just beating on each other for the hell of it and they'll likely be fine afterwards. Not saying she can't fight or can't hold her own well, and I do play her as being powerful, but I also tend not to rp fight with her with intentions of winning. If it happens, cool, but of not also cool and makes for an interesting situation to work off. For winning though, if it's a serious fight there's also potential for a lot of damage to the person she's fighting. I always try to avoid killing stuff unless the person is oocly ok with it, but if Kal is mad and she gets in some good hits the person is likely going to end up with some broken bones, maybe a fractured skull, torn tendons, etc. All she really needs to do is get a hold of someone's arm or leg and it's a go to method to just snap something or twist it until it dislocates or tears. She's brutal with serious fights but I always try to oocly communicate if it gets close to that level and that's when I roll more for grappling or people escaping her hold or even just seeing how bad the damage is or if avoided from a counter. If the person is godmodding or borderlining it, and/or oocly being a butthead along with their character, I'm less likely to be alright losing and I'll up Kal's fighting skill levels or just be ridiculous with it. (Seriously I had a fight with [Warcraft] Kal and someone else standing in a tree (or on the trunk, and it was shaped weird). Kal has much more stable, flat footing, and in a position she could easily hit him or avoid him, and he was on a sharp incline and unstable footing and after picking a fight with her he not only dodged all of her attacks, but the ones from the people she was with, without falling, and rping as hitting them all and having no issues at all when logically he'd fall either from trying to avoid being hit, or he'd be hit and fall anyways. Even oocly when trying to talk to him about the fight and that wasn't being fair or realistic and him being a butthead about it. Eventually said screw it and rp'd "Kal turns in to a giant dragon with impenetrable scales and bites the guy in half because this rp is godmoddy as f- anyways" and ended it at that.) There are times I'll do rolls for myself with certain actions so see if a character screws something up or not, or which kind of action to take if I can't really decide which way to go with it because both choices may end up interesting. Some people I just try to avoid rp fighting with in general if I have an idea of how they are oocly and tend to be with their character and they seem like someone who'd rp as their character is unhittable no matter what. Even with a character like Dheina where I actively try to lose with her most the time, if any blows she may attempt all completely miss even without a roll and it's a situation they realistically wouldn't avoid, or it's even completely ignored (honestly I think I hate that part the most and the person acts like the thing never even happened, and then later on claim they wern't paying attention or didn't really care enough about what was going on to pay attention to it, especially when THEY were the one to start the shit with the character in the first place). It's obnoxious and makes me not want to rp with them at all, on any of their characters. Even if there's never a fight ever again with any of them.
  4. Alright thanks! Screenshots helped. I forgot a lot of the archery stuff as I wasn't really rping the keeper much, and did the archery with my hyur, and wasn't really paying much attention. Havn't gotten to the other one but don't mind spoilers. I'm not going to change her personality or anything, and still just going to react to how other people treat her icly, but good to know too if it comes up and how she may react around certain kinds of people, so not thrown off so much if the subject comes up again. [/url]
  5. So I came up with a background for my skittish kitty where she's from Bentbranch, but I have discovered that apparently Keepers are likely to run in to problems because of the Keeper poachers So my question(s) is(are), Is this like a major hatred thing towards keepers, wariness because a lot of poachers are keepers? what kind of problems would my kitty go through with people, even if she grew up in the twelveswood, worked with raising chocobos, and is a conjurer? (I guess ignoring too that she's the type of person that wants to try to be friends with everyone, cries easily [especially over people or animals getting hurt], and yells at strangers doing weird things that may upset the elementals). Finding lore stuff is a surprisingly huge pain in the ass through googling.... or at least it is for me after WoW stuff.
  6. I'm laughing at all the people going "Regular grooming should solve the problem" And as someone with 6 cats and has had others (that recently died from age)... Not necessarily.... but it also can depend on the time of year also.... But people shed hair too and sometimes even a lot of it. I lived on my own for awhile in an apartment with a carpet and holy shit did I keep pulling up so much of my own hair from it every week and sweeping it up from the bathroom. Part of the problem may have been health issues too, but point is it was a lot of shedding. And then I have one cat that hardly ever sheds unless stressed, some that for whatever reason shed a ton in the winter but not so much summer (and all you have to do is run a hand down his back and you'll pull free a fair sized hairballs worth of hair and have your hand covered in it), one that sheds all year round and I swear to god no matter how much you brush him you're going to end up with giant hair balls. Now that it's spring too we're trying to keep them well brushed/combed (because sometimes combs and brushes don't work as well as specialized combs made to pull up everything loose) because of the shedding, but one of them we have tried combing/brushing him multiple times through the day for 3 days, like every other hour or so-ish, and every time we end up with a fist sized ball of hair. And he's a short hair. Even weirder is he's a black cat but all the shit we pull off is white or grey and it's the weirdest shit like it isn't even his. We have no clue where all this hair is coming from but gotta be some kind of undercoat that's not really noticeable, and he's still got so much loose hair that comes up even just petting him... So much of the hair comes off the tail too and it's just amazing how much shit I pull off just from the tail alone. So really can depend on the Miqo'te and if you want to deal with their hair being more like human hair (which still sheds but differently than a cats), or can go with multiple different things for how cats can shed. Long hair doesn't necessarily mean a problem shedder (and in my experience it's the frickin' short haired ones that have the biggest issues, especially the ones I've had with the coarser/thicker short hair verses the soft, finer thin. Biggest problem I've had with the long hairs are that their hair has more issues with static during brushing/combing/petting and is more likely to cling to everything and be harder to remove from yourself or anything it attaches to), and could go with it's a major maintenance issues for your character or a minor issue that is mostly ignored.
  7. Far as I know Paladins knowing healing magic is normal enough with games so I imagine not really a big deal? I mean you need to know at least basic conjury (and end up with cure, protect, raise... which is common paladin abilities in other games) to get the class in the game so even icly seems like something paladins would need to know/be able to do. Conjury isn't the only class that has healing abilities, even if it's best known for it. So you could very well just say it's part of the paladin training process to learn it without actually taking the time to learn conjury as well. If you want to add that in you can, but be easy enough to work around it.
  8. Kal gets along well enough with kids. No problems with entertaining them, playing tag, letting them use her as a jungle gym, play wrestling them and letting them win, etc. Problem is if there's any kids intent on being problematic and being a little shit she would be completely willing to ductape them to a wall or shove them in an empty closet (maybe even restrained) and let them scream and wear themselves out while she goes back to the other kids. High risk of bedtime stories such as "Go the fuck to sleep". Dheina can get along well enough with kids (not babies) if they're behaved but can be easily enough bullied by the meaner ones that just refuse to listen, and they could very easily make her cry. She would definitely have to bring someone else with that was better with discipline or even just handling stress and wouldn't be able to be pushed around or bullied by some little kid. Most likely she'd find Lili and beg her to help because Lili has kids. Lili has lots of kids! Lili can help! Lili please help! (Lili, Ado is being mean to me! *sob*) Sam can handle kids well enough and would be relatively good at keeping them entertained or disciplining them if they do things they shouldn't be. They'd get annoyed at the trouble makers but they'd still be able to handle them well enough. Worse case scenario they put the kids to sleep with magic when patience ran out. Armimi would probably try to teach them about possibly interesting things about plants or Alchemy without going in to details that they wouldn't be able to understand, tell some stories, and probably use sleep spells on them so they'd just be sleeping the majority of the time. Kid isn't tired for their bed time? Well sucks for the parent but Armimi doesn't really have the patience to put up with the energy of kids for the most part, or for any trouble makers. Cardea would teach the kids swear words and about adult related topics that they really should not be learning about and will make you regret leaving kids in her care. She would purposely feed them junk food too and caffeine or whatever eorzea equivalent to make them hyper or even sick. Sure the kids won't die or be maimed or seriously injured or anything, but she will make you regret leaving your kids with her. Samhain..... someone call child services please. She's made a fighting ring and is making the kids and babies fight each other and encouraging the bullies to beat the shit out of the others. At the very least she may at least make an effort to make sure they at least don't manage to kill themselves by falling down the stairs or drink the stuff under the sink..... but then again good chance they will just leave the kids completely alone and go to a bar or something. Only chance those kids arn't going to end up in poor situation is if they're relatively responsible kids themselves and only reason you need Samhain is for legal reasons, and you offer them to pay them well for no or very little work for caring for the child, or you pay them a large amount of money for them to make the effort to prevent the kids from getting hurt. The kids still likely be very unhappy because scary babysitter that won't let them do anything, but hey at least they arn't hurt or dead. Probably would have been a better idea to just find someone that was less of a sociopath that you didn't have to pay so much gil to watch the kids.
  9. Interesting way to label them I kinda feel like there should be something between 4 and 5 though? But w/e. Kal: I'm not sure where to place her. I'd say she has the strength that if she actually applied it she may be a 3 and you definitely don't want to get punched by her even if she's not like a (professional?) pug, an easily enough potential there for her to land her in the 3, but as she kind of lacks the attention span to pursue mastery over anything she'd be more between 4-5, depending on what she's doing. Not quite a 4, but 5 or somewhat between them. She can hold her own very well in fights due to background and just her shit with bodybuilding/power training for a hobby and mining, but her main focus lately has been pretty much mining and archery, and she's gotten pretty good but she's not really an expert and has pretty much settled in a spot of "I can work with this, I'm good where I'm at" and not really interested in mastering it. And she's not really considered a pugilist, but she gets in a fist fight/brawl with someone and she can still cause some major damage with any hits she gets in and could probably easily enough break bones of most races except some highlanders and Roe (considering the average builds for the races. Depending on their profession/build affecting muscle and bone density as well, blahblahblah details). Dheina: 7.... or maybe 5 with magic if she can focus enough instead of panicking over being in a fight... but mostly 7... especially physically. She's a puffball and hates hurting people or things unless it's absolutely necessary. She'd rather heal and help people, and run from a fight. She's very good at running and avoiding hits, but she's unlikely to fight back unless her life is endangered or she's trying to protect someone else... even if by protecting them she's basically just being a distraction and making herself a target so the other person can get away (or fight back if they're so inclined, but Dhei would prefer they just run away too). Sam: I guess a 4 works well enough for them. They don't seem to be much to look at and nothing really amazing for strength or abilities with magic, but their focus is more on agility/dodging/precision. You know, typical rogue/ninja stuff. Say they got in a fight with someone like Kal. Sam may not have a lot of physical power behind them and could take a whole lot of damage from a hit from someone like Kal, but they'd be better at dodging and attacks are more focused on either hitting weak spots or "death by a 1000 cuts" type of thing verses Kal's "Just hit them hard enough they turn into a paste" typical style (Not saying Kal can't be more focused and aim for weak spots too, but she's more impatient and likely enough to say hell with it, abandon any planned tactics, and just improvise and try to shatter their bones and turn soft bits to a paste through sheer force. Even if Kal took up a rogue path her major fighting style would still be more focus on overpowering and brutality than patience and precision.) Armimi: 5. She could probably hold her own well enough against a fair amount of threats, but she doesn't have a whole lot of interest in fighting and learned it to basically be able to handle normal threats while out doing whatever. She's more likely to run if facing skilled fighters or stronger monsters/npc, and would rather avoid them all together if she can. Cardea: At this point in time pretty much a 5. Some skill but fighting is more a hobby for her, a way to stay in shape, and just some protection for when out traveling, but she doesn't really take it all that seriously and would rather just avoid fights because she doesn't want to risk any injuries that could negatively affect her looks in a way that's not easy or fix or hide. Samhain: Likely a 4, even if I havn't actually gotten anywhere with leveling/playing her. Likely won't anyways until I get around to working on her so she's not in low gear with claims for how she is. She may get to a 3 over time too but mostly it'll depend on character development in the future. But a 4 just because her love of fighting and bloodlust would drive her to gain a lot of power to be able to kill most things easily, but unless she has some reason to *really* push her to improve on skills (Someone she gets in a fight with and will probably run in to often enough that it's a regular conflict for fighting and losing or even just having a lot of trouble beating them, or suddenly some powerful creature that she'll have to deal with at some point or another because of circumstances that prevent her from brushing it off as not her problem type of situation) she could be content enough to have enough power to be able to easily enough slaughter most things or hold her own against tougher things when she feels like a challenge when killing something with her axe. Twin Rova: I'm going to be a shit here and say a 2 just because of what's she's based off of and she's not actually a serious character.... or maybe should say 3... It's kinda hard to say considering in Zelda she's one of those that can pretty much easily enough kill or control nearly everyone/everything else in the world (seriously. Like what probably the only person really that would be able to win against her easily [besides Link because reasons] would be Ganondorf, right? .... Maybe Zelda.... Idk.... then again probably not;, but due to fight mechanics, if you know what you're doing in the game and don't keep screwing up somehow because mistakes or whatever, it's not that hard to beat her with Link.... But you know, like I said she's not really actually all that serious of a character and made her more for the hell of it than for any real plans for rp with her *shrugs*
  10. I'll admit that even though I've been in game about a year now I've been a lazy shit and only hit 50 on Kal recently (Just before computer died, yay), so I havn't actually seen a whole lot of the story and what's out there (Don't worry I don't have any issues with spoilers). But personally unless a scene made it clear that they were definitely dead and for some reason or another their soul took the body with it to wherever or it couldn't stay solid for whatever reason for magics, I'd take it as the person may not actually be dead, just from what I understand about aether. Which is pretty much the stuff on these pages http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aether http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aetheryte And it says that for teleporting the aether that makes up the person can breakdown the body's mass to drag it with in to the streams and guides it to another location with an aetheryte that puts it all back together, but for deaths it's released and disappears in to the streams on it's own (Though only so much at a time can go with so excess can be like a glowy mist, crystals, or ghostly apparitions, or can even enter in to new hosts and expand the host's aether, which can add a boost of power or drive a person insane... especially when it involves a huge concentration of it.) So I don't really know what happened with the exceptions, but overall I just go with alive somewhere else until proven dead.
  11. Kal Numara - 21, going on 22. Tall, muscular, and a Huge frickin' brat and major flirt, or at least what she pretends to be. Pretty much a professional troll, but it's more good-humored than malicious. Rather immature and often enough times perverted/raunchy sense of humor, but she does feel bad if she hurts someone's feelings or upsets the shyer people and will back off (for the most part. Some teasing still happens out of habit, but it's gentler). She also likes to play pirate. She's spent her fair time on ships and working on the docks, but doesn't consider herself one. But because people tend to call her a pirate either way she tends to just go along with it. Dheina Tayuun - 18. Skittish little miqote healer with tons of freckles that tries hard to do well and help people but is easily frightened, has issues with panic attacks and is somewhat of a crybaby, simple (not really stupid, but still not too smart either), and can be pretty childish. She also has an obsession with pink, girly things, and chocobos. She also tends to be attracted to pretty and feminine people, male or female (Though she does tend to like girls more). Unfortunately because of her intelligence and personality it can be easy enough to manipulate her as long as she doesn't feel she's doing something evil or mean. Sam Redsteele - 23/24. Short and plain looking, as well as Androgynous. Their thing is that people have a hell of a time telling if female or male, and this is made worse by their voice and name, as well as that they tend to respond to any kind of gendered reference. Physically Sam is usually female, though there has been times they have changed themselves to be male, but due to fantasia costs and the difficulty in obtaining them they usually are female and just dress for what they feel like that day. A plus they add to that is that they also don't have to deal with shaving their face or hurting their nuts while running or riding around. With some makeup they could could be pretty but for the most part Sam is someone that most people likely wouldn't notice or pay much attention to. Being part of the rogue's guild, this usually works out very well for them. Armimi Armi - age N/A yet. Armi is friendly enough but her sense of humor can be pretty dark at times and immature in the sense she likes to play tricks on people. Sometimes harmless, sometimes not. She's mainly an independent rogue, but she also has an interest in Thaumaturgy, Botany, and Alchemy and will spend a good deal of time studying those fields, even if she doesn't employ magic too often. It tends to be more academic interest than interest in using the power behind it. She will probably either stab you or set you on fire though if you tease her about the usual lala issue of looking like a kid, or flirt with her too much after being clear it's not appreciated. Cardea Moriliin - Also N/a for age yet. A rather weird pugilist. She's friendly enough and rather goofy, but she has several rather creepy mannerisms and can have a kind of black widow vibe to her. A'samh (Samhain) Ginwa - another one dont have a set age for yet. Taller side for female Miqo'te and rather violent. Also mischievous, but in the way a fairy may be mischievous in tricking you in to getting lost in the woods or a swamp or trick you in to falling off a cliff and laughing at your misfortune. Impish would probably be a better word. She's really doesn't care much about other people and their feelings. She may seem friendly at first as she is usually pretty upbeat, but she has no problem saying things that may hurt or anger others and actually is quite happy with starting fights and enjoys bloodshed and using her axe on people. She typically have no remorse over those she does hurt as well, but may feign it to get out of trouble and has no problem lying.
  12. Kal and V'yhaar 4B63Wk86Nfg And Vy says jam5rlEHHIA And then Dheina and Glitter 58McBf4tiQ0
  13. I will add my own stuff in a bit but first I gotta say, aaaw yeah Oomph! *highfives*
  14. I may change A'Samh since I havn't really rp'd with her so far. Mostly depends on if I end up being able to come up with a look I like or not for what'd work for Samhain.
  15. Kal is pretty much like her usual self, just louder and more likely to be physical with people, and possibly more likely to start a fight... whether for the fun of it or because someone said something she didn't like and her temperament suddenly shifted and it's like a bomb going off with pretty much no warning. Dheina is more bold when buzzed, but drunk she'd be miserable and upset over having trouble walking or physically functioning and even cry over it. She doesn't get drunk though often unless given something that's had the alcohol taste masked so she can't really tell what she's drinking. Overall she doesn't like alcohol Sam is one of those people that will probably depend on their mood when they start or be kind of temperamental (and really it depends on the company or conversation subjects), but don't really get drunk and tend to stop after being buzzed, which then they're sitting at that comfortable happy feeling and willing to chat with random people and feel kind of peaceful stage of drinking, but still have a lot of control over themselves and motorskills and even for walking be pretty much fine, but may be slow to react to other people and things. ("I can walk, but yup, vision is definitely impaired and a bit weird when I move around quickly. That's enough for me")
  16. Thanks. Still works well enough considering the long period of time being inactive on here, right? I'll keep you in mind for whenever I get back! Hopefully in the next two months at least x-x Forum or skype rp can be fun, though havn't done it for a long time and it may be a bit awkward due to dysgraphia. One reason I liked in game rp so much, I can use emotes and short descriptions and less issues from people over being more dialogue heavy than describing actions. I'll still do forum and skype rp, but also need to let people know it may be awkward or a little slow D:
  17. One way I try to explain it to people is kind of like having more than one bestfriend, but with deeper emotional connections and more time commitment. Though seems like a lot of people tend to have trouble with having more than one best friend as well, but others can do quite well with having a couple best friends. Of course it's not very common either for people to have more than a handful of bestfriends, and if someone were to have a ton of people they called their "best friends" it can cause some problems from being stretched thin and it kind of loses it's meaning. But one thing about it is it depends on the people involved and their interaction requirements. Some people are very lax about how much time is required for them to spend time with their S.O., but doesn't mean their emotional attachment isn't any less meaningful. Even for monogamous relationships some people may love their partners deeply but be alright with maybe only seeing them once or so a week or sometimes even less and understand life happens, but they know their partner still loves them loves being with them when they are together. And some people are very demanding of their partner's time and energy and get upset if they can't talk or see their partner at least once a day or sometimes need to throughout the day, and their partner could be fine with that themselves. But of course there can be the problem if someone is devoting a majority of their time to one partner and neglecting another's needs, and it can happen with friends too where two friends start spending most of their time with each other and the other friends are feeling ignored because they can't seem to get time in with their friends and this other friend is taking up all their time and leaving very little for others, and may also be getting upset when the main person of interest tries to spend more time with other friends. I've even had friends once that I didn't consider to be a "bestfriend", but they'd get snippy and passive aggressive if I spent time with other friends in situations where they couldn't join in for some reason or another, or get upset when they wernt to focus of my time and attention. I'd often be accused of not caring about them at all, or if I was spending time with friends that also were considered their friends, but we were doing something without them because they couldn't join in or they just plain didn't want to, they'd get upset about being excluded. At one point it got to where the person would accuse me of stealing their friends or get upset with me for spending time with my own friends and that I was being greedy because they had no one else. There'd be a lot of issues where I'd schedule time to spend with a person and then immediately after they'd try to do the same with trying to get the person's or my time and then pitch a fit when the I or person said they were already busy now, but if the person really wanted to they could join in with what we were doing, but they'd often time refused because they wanted personal time, but they wouldn't seem to make an effort to make plans unless it was obvious there was already plans that just didn't include them. It wasn't even a thing with having scheduled or promised time to spend with this person or same with their other friends spending time with them and then changing my mind and deciding to spend time with other people. And on the other hand I've had people I've really cared about and considered really important make a new friend and spend less and less time with me and more and more time with them to the point that this other person was pretty much taking up all their free time and would even drop planned time to hang out with me to do something with them, and often times without warning or explanation. I understand the jealousy and frustration behind it, but also eventually I say fuck it and stop bothering because obviously not any kind of priority and not worth my time or effort to try to spend time with them when they just wernt interested. And hell even I have some jealousy issues as well with my partner, but involving his friends because I may want to do something with him, but all of his time ends up doing something like pvping with his friends. It can be annoying and even hurtful when someone you like ignores you for someone or even something else, but big part of working it out is realizing that people can have interests outside of just you and also accepting that you may not be able to fulfill their every need or interest and it's fine, as long as they're not ignoring you all the time for this other thing and person. It's that way for friendships and relationships. Especially if you're one of those people who can't really be partners with someone else unless you can be friends first. (And honestly I never got those couples who seemed to love each other and all but wern't friends either and didn't like the others hobbies or friends) I'm one of those people that is more than happy to spend a lot of time with someone I like if they're available but can also do pretty well too not seeing my significant other or talking to them for a week or more, and once we didn't even really talk for a month. But we're still there to support each other and really love each other. He's less in to the idea of polyamory and like me has a fear of being replaced, but explained to him that polyamory isn't like replacing one person for another. It's just saying I have feelings for this other person as well and like that I can maybe do this thing with them that you have no interest in, but I don't care any less for you. I've managed to convince him too that it's perfectly ok with me if he decides to pick up another partner, especially since he's in another state entirely, but we'd both like to know if the other picks up another person and that everyone knows what's going on and possibly attempt to all talk to each other and see about being at least friends. Don't have to all be partners or even best friends or anything, but do need to at least be ok with each other..... Neither of us have other partners, but option is still there for if it does happen because hell, that's life. Long as we're not ignoring each other for someone else. And as I joke with him can't really be much worse than it is with us and pvp/rp, since he is less interested in rp than I am and he loves pvp and will often spend a ton of time with his pvp friends, and I'm not so much interested in pvp anymore. Both love each other, but we don't make any huge demands of each other's attention or time except when visiting the other and then we're cuddly as fuck and practically all over each other.... when we're not distracted by sleep or our games Another point too is like friends, your friend/partner may have friends/partners that arn't really your friends/partners either. Like with Kal. Her and Vyhaar are getting married. In a way they're primaries, but Vyhaar also has mates that he's also very close with and has even been with far longer than he has with Kal. Kal isn't involved with them and hell isn't even friendly with all of them, though at worst she's "cool" towards a few, but at times she's also hooked up with some without really considering each other partners. Her partner is also a Nuhn so he has quite a few families he provides for and otherwise partners that are more like secondary partners. Granted as a nuhn he doesn't have to necessarily be close to them, he just needs to provide the breeding, but still he makes sure his partners and kids are taken care of and most of these secondaries she's met. It's a time stretch, but all the people involved also have their own partners as well that are not involved with the guy, just like how Kal is largely not involved with his other mates and their primaries. It's a large, complex system that could probably very easily overwhelm people, and far as I know there's like 15-20 people involved just for player's characters alone, but it also works out fine with all the characters involved. There's a large range of what falls in for poly relationships, but the biggest part of it is definitely communication and honestly (Seriously, someone having multiple relationships with people where all partners don't know about each other, whether they're ok with multiple partners or not, is not polyamory. It's cheating. Way too many people will use polyamory as an excuse to cheat), and of course knowing your own limits, as well as being aware of other people's needs and life demands. Some relationships can still be exclusive to just the group, and some are more open. Poly relationships often enough have problems that monogamous ones have and monogamous relationships are just as Not everyone can do it, and that's ok. But not ok to try to force a partner to change to become monogamous because you arn't comfortable with it or to try to force a monogamous person to become poly. It can work between a mono person and a poly person if they understand and accept each other, but it can also be very difficult or at times impossible depending on personal views as well and sometimes it's just best to part ways, no matter how well they may click otherwise.
  18. Since seems to be mainly personality based for this question, probably the closest character to my own personality is Sam, but most my alts tend to be based of a certain aspect of myself and then added to for depth and to give them their own life. It keeps them from being too similar but same time can relate to them and helps with putting myself in their shoes. Quite a few people seem to have issues that I admit that I am like all my characters, even if I'm not exactly or even seem to be very different. Usually because they feel the only way to actually rp a character well and maintain the ooc/ic separation is because But really it's a common enough thing with acting too. If it's someone else's character you find something about them you can relate to and use it as a base for helping understand the character and motives and for pulling yourself in to character, even with aspects of them that arn't similar to yours. I grew up with theater stuff and earliest I remember doing things in plays/being in a show is 5 years old and been pretty active in it. I wanted to do professional acting like for movies and things but mom never took me to auditions for those because she didn't want to deal with the typical things of stalking and lack of privacy and everything else negative that comes with getting bigger, more public roles. Kal is outwardly very confident and sensual, as well as loud and mischievous. Quite a bit of her personality is in a base of what I was like when I was a kid. Not exactly, and I was largely still introverted and not very sexual, but I liked to play tricks on people and was like... a friendly bully that would tease people and friends a lot but usually wasn't malicious about it. She's caring but she can also be very violent and physical too, especially when angry. And when I was a kid my temperament was horrible and I got in a lot of fights. Dheina is anxiety, simple-mindedness, being emotional, and part of me that really hates people getting hurt, and has issues with feeling useless and tries to hard for people's approval or hurts themselves trying to get something done that they most likely can't because of emotional or physical limitations but doesnt want to disappoint people. Sam is probably closest in temperament and all to how I am now but is pretty much based on identity confusion and really having no clue what to do with themselves or their life and mostly kind of just wandering around aimlessly until something hits them in the face for what to do with themselves. Armimi is a more serious character with more interest in science and learning how things work than interactions with people. Cardea is part of my brain that is pretty much in the gutter and goofy, but also based on a kind of idea I think about for being flirty and also probably based less on a personality trait of myself but more off the black widow seductress types you see enough on tv to figure out the characterization. And Samhain is more or less off the misanthropic part of me that's also has sociopathic tendencies. Based on the part of me that allowed for the interest in torture devices and methods when I was younger. The part of my thoughts that come up when angry or just tired of people and how the world works and saying fuck people I don't give a shit. That thinks "You got a problem with me, that's your problem". Honestly I see nothing wrong with people taking parts of themselves and using it as a base concept to expand on and experiment with or create characters. Just because a character is based on something of yourself doesn't mean that character is you or that there's an issue with an ooc/ic separation. The problem is when you take problems the character has personally. Like if someone's character doesnt like yours, you feel it's a personal attack on yourself by the player (This character hates mine so therefore their player hates me!) and you get angry and you use the character as a mouthpiece for your own feelings towards the other character and their player. This has been an issue I've seen before where someone has made a number of characters that differ slightly but overall have the same way of thinking and speaking that also matched up with how the person acted oocly. One character of theirs had a problem with mine or they oocly had a problem with me and suddenly all characters would hate mine for the exact reason they oocly hated me/my character and they'd use the same insults and language as they did oocly and would throw fits the same way icly as oocly whenever something didn't go their way. I have a lot of friends with characters that don't like mine, but we're still friends oocly and have a lot of fun and while the characters don't get along and exhibit traits we have, whether commonly or just on occasion, we recognize that it's character stuff and not personal.... though been times of course with ooc apologizing for their character and saying sorry their person doesn't like mine though they may oocly love mine. Some of my friend's characters I absolutely adore oocly but they just don't get along with certain characters of mine. I don't know this may be confusing for what I'm trying to point out here. But basically to me rp is like Improve acting and you can really get in to character and the character could even be near exact to you, and you can really get in to it, but at the end of the day you can recognize that it's not you. Even if someone decides the best way to do this is to play a character opposite from them, it's still not a guarantee there wont be an ooc/ic issue. It can still affect a person emotionally ooc, and examples of this is like with what happened to Heath Ledger (Even if Heath wasn't actually like the Joker) and more or less the Joker killing him, but that's also a different situation than with rp in an mmo because the computer can help somewhat with separation too as you're not physically putting yourself in character, which actually does affect the level of connection between actor/player and character And I ended up ranting a bit Sorry D; I'm just kind of passionate about acting and rp
  19. I always just went with Hammer space magic. Same way can carry a bunch of items and gear around. I tend to use magic-involvement for sudden wardrobe changes that involve entire outfits and not just taking off or putting on one or two things
  20. I think the only one I'd actually get along with is Sam All the others I'd probably go nuts trying to contain them or try to get them to not trash a bunch of shit or get themselves arrested. Dhei would probably just cry a lot and freak out, which I wouldn't be able to handle too well either even if I distracted her with cats. My dog would freak her out too though. Kal is friendly enough but she she is way too much like... party person and outgoing for me to have the energy to deal with. I could probably distract her for a bit with alcohol and tv, but she'd eventually get bored and likely start getting destructive. She can't just go out and pick up a random person, especially not for a fight. Armi may be ok to deal with if I distracted with internet and showed her how to go on an info binge Cardea would want to go out to parties and likely hook up with someone. Samhain would probably hurt someone or at least scare the shit out of someone and be the most likely to end up arrested and not listening to anyone
  21. Kal prefers things that that are either lose and easy to move in, leathers, or tops that she can show off in for muscles or body in general. Also clothing style that's fairly typical for a "Pirate" or Lominsan. Her "nice" clothes tends to be thing that show off her chest and probably a mini-skirt or hotpants, whether it's appropriate for the situation or not. https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Kal_Numara#Gallery Dheina tends to prefer things that she can move easily in, skorts, long skirts or dresses, girly things, or practical clothing but in girly colors. She tends to wear mostly the same thing and range of colors
  22. With Kal and Vyhaar With random people she meets and most her friends
  23. So I'm not sure if this should go in this board or the Character Development one, but So people are aware, I often forget names, especially when I'm trying to specifically remember them, and I'm sorry, I'm looking for people that know Kal in some way or another. https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Kal_Numara#Relationships If your character knows OF Kal but never actually interacted with them then encourage you more to put something in the Rumor's/Impressions section. But if you want to rp with me on Kal at some point in the future when I get a capable computer again and can get back in game, you can still add your name to the list, but just add a * before it so I know they havn't interacted yet so I don't put a mark by the name, but know to look for your character in the future when I'm able to get back in game! Few people arn't listed because I'm a derp and forget their whole names too so I need that info. A few people I may be unsure if I actually rp'd with and forgot or if I just know them through reputation so I havn't actually added their names in. If you arn't comfortable adding the name or a blurb in yourself and just want me to do it, let me know.
  24. Probably because most people making characters based on popular anime characters or at least have the names or names similar to them tend to be not very serious and often enough trolls that like to screw with rp'ers. There's been times I've rp'd with people with anime names before just because why not they may do it well, and then the person ends up saying they're actually such and such character from another universe or end up being lol random and trolling people so I end up putting them on ignore and pretending they're not there, or reporting them if they continue to harass me and/or others around me trying to rp and be serious about it. So now as a result I'm largely very iffy and now on the defense for wondering if someone is trolling or wants to lol-rp. Lol-rp is fine, but it's better for a group of friends rather than public/random rp and can be annoying for people who don't want to deal with that. And there's a difference between being silly with your rp or having a silly character and lol-rp. Sometimes it can be fine though, and I mean look at my sig. One of my characters is "Twin Rova". Usually I get a positive reaction from it and the other zelda-based characters I've met seem to get a lot of positive reactions too.... but to be fair it could be because of where the character name/base is from. Quite a few people love zelda... and while a lot of people love Naruto too, a lot of people hate it and honestly the character from the anime can be super obnoxious. It's also a character people will often emulate and be super obnoxious with. Hell even outside mmos people will copy the most obnoxious parts of a character and act like them because they're being lol so random, don't care what people think of me. And sometimes it's just people shooting for a Chaotic alignment and ending up deep in the Chaotic stupid zone. So it's expected that people see a name similar to something from an anime, especially a fairly obnoxious character to begin with, and be wary about the player and their motives or want to just avoid them entirely (because let's face it, that interaction can be draining to say the least), even if that's not the player's actual intention and the character isn't actually anything like the anime character.
  25. So this is late with introduction since technically been on here for about a year, even if I havn't don't jackall for posting/replying up until these last few months because figured should try to be more active Not really new to rp and RP'd a lot in Warcraft. Mostly horde side on Feathermoon and then Wyrmrest Accord, but technically bi-factioned and was on Alli too.... just horde more. Fairly new to FF scene unless you count Crystal Chronicles, which I'm sure most people don't..... and maybe Lost Odyssey, which I know technically is not an FF game but it's still by the same person and a lot of the same elements. (Fun fact is Kal's last name is related to that, as well as a bastardized version of "McNamara/Namara") Kinda played through the game with Lightning but didn't get to finish it because game was borrowed. Been in ffxiv about a year now too. Still have barely any clue what I'm doing past flailing around but I fake it well enough even with limited lore understanding. CURRENTLY not in game as I do not have a computer that can handle playing ffxiv (the one that could died. Horray!), but hoping to get back in the next two months, or hopefully sooner. Depends on how well I manage to save my money. I have a friend helping me though with shit like holiday events and getting items, and maybe leveling stuff if they feel bored enough to do it. I don't really care. If you see any of my characters on though just whisper my friend when they're one and let them know why adding to friend's list, or if you want to add me for possible future rp and havn't seen any of the characters on just send me a message and can add you in skype or work between you and my friend for adding in. Mostly I have been on Kal and Sam rp-wise, but Dheina is also one of my mains for rping. The others I'm happy to rp with but am likely not going to be one them much unless requested to be or I'm bored with doing things on the main 3. I really don't mind people messaging me for rp involving specific characters. A lot of the time people ask me "Whatever character you want to play" for when they poke me for rp, but that tends to be largely Kal or Sam, and sometimes Dhei depending on the situation or just how I'm feeling that day. If you really don't care then likely going to get one of those. Otherwise interaction is going to vary quite a bit depending on the character, so if you want to avoid something in general or just a certain day you may want to ask.
