  1. Mine is kinda backwards.... My roleplay affects my music. Like there will be a moment or scene happening and I'll think: "OMG THIS IS THE PERFECT SONG FOR THIS" Then I'll go listen to it be it sexy, emo, angsty, tragic, happy etc. Other than that I also tend to RP with Lil Jon playing. Yup. :cactuar:
  2. A lot of folk I know are pretty upfront about their activities via wikis etc. I don't think there should really be any obligation to post any sort of "alignment" or activities in a search info. Hell, I can barely fit what I do have in there. :lol: If a person doesn't really check a wiki or do any looking into who they are rping with then they lose out on the opportunity for plot hooks and whatnot. Then again, you have folk that prefer to discover and do everything via character exposition and development and having what could be considered "OOC knowledge" shoved down their throats tends to annoy them. This is, of course, not referring to the group of "evil" activities that should require OOC permission and planning regardless. No amount of warnings in a search info will save you from someone trying to push douchebaggery on you. >_>; Ultimately, in the specific circumstance, I think it really comes down to the type of RP the person playing the "wanted" character is looking for. They might not want ambushes or walk-ups and would rather prefer a more planned sort of encounter and that is their prerogative and not really something I think is bad.
  3. ((Can I just jump in on this in game? Looks a whole lot like Ros's next door neighbor...))
  4. Ros has personality and developmental disorders.
  5. I just noticed this. If you look at the Dragoon's butt as he's walking away from the camera (shut up don't judge me) as he's walking away he totally.. HAS TAIL ARMOUR. :cactuar:
  6. I feel like this whole conundrum gets avoided if you just stick to known lore and not tryhard with really out there characters. Pretty much what Aya said.
  7. I tend to agree with this except when it comes to Scholar. But Scholar lore is so afterthoughty and wonky I don't even know why I try sometimes. ;_;
  8. Absolutely. Unless otherwise stated we are always interested in new members! I'll go ahead get a hold of you in game so we can have a chat.
  9. I think it's an exercise in futility to really chop up what information we have and try extracting lore from it. I watch the trailer and I see VFX artists trying to make something cool and that's what they put together with very little lore in mind. They wanted it to be very recognizably "dragoon" and this is what came out.
  10. I'm more excited about the triumphant return of Derplander myself...
  11. If I'm not mistaken.... (could be wrong here) I believe the spell return operates differently aetherically than the spell teleport in the sense that it is less taxing on the body. Need a Sounsyy on that one I think. Also I really see no issue with it teleporting across large bodies of water. It's a little handwavey, but nobody really incorporates very punishing details. Like "Can my linkpearl work underground in this cave?" or "I've ICly teleported 4 times today, I should be falling over..." As far as from a lore standpoint, in order for it not to be able to work, the destination aetherite would have to be destroyed or there would have to be significant enough interference that for some reason the aether in your characters body would be unable to resonate with that particular destination. The aether in your characters body is broken down and then zips along, what I can only assume is a "lifestream" (lolff7) to be reformed by the aetheric device at your destination. Is a large body of water enough to interfere with that? We really don't have enough information to make a call I don't think.... Personally, I think you're fine, though.
  12. <3 One of my retainers is definitely named Nick Carter....
  13. Sometimes I incorporate it, sometimes I ignore it. Depending on how high stakes the moment is or how important the subject matter the weather tends to go by the wayside. Other, more casual times, it can be interesting to find a tree or cave to duck inside.
  14. Kanaria came up with it. I asked around and everyone agreed the Shroud needed some RP love. It's a great idea. Really fits well with the "Starlight" theme. ((pls no rain)) :cactuar:
  15. Your post and recent rp I've done has me thinking about firearm forensics now. Surely, what muskets are available in Eorzea can't be crafted by just anyone unlike swords/armour. The majority currently in circulation would probably be military grade and this alone would make such weapons very easy to track or trace. ...For some reason, I'm imagining Uldan style firearms, should they ever be crafted, as having a much more wild west feel to them while Limsian firearms have that french revolution feel. :3
  16. I got knocked out of character by "Thal's Balls." I kinda sat there staring at my screen for a second then just started laughing.
  17. A cheap, shitty table when I realized I had no where to put my computer.
  18. Ooooh. Iffy subject. I'll go first. :3 Roswyn, as a character, stands as an interesting dichotomy to stereotypical male/female roles. She is heterosexual and is notoriously not interested in very many men and having poor taste of those she is interested in. However, those that have managed to get close to her on a personal or sexual basis have discovered that once she drops those barriers she is radically different to how she presents herself in public. Anytime she begins a more intimate relationship with anyone she scared to death it will affect how people see her. She is normally authoritative, strong-willed, and nigh "bitchy" with how she handles business. She refuses to let herself be defined by a relationship and it is -always- backburnered to the image of herself that she keeps, usually to the dismay of whomever she happens to be seeing. The irony here, is she finds herself unable to be attracted to anyone that cannot stand up to the force of her personality. As a result, she tends to be much more submissive behind closed doors but once the doors open she changes completely. As far as sexually, she is still very much developing. "Novice" might be the appropriate term. ERP itself is typically not a focus of my roleplay but I do think there is a fair amount of character development that can happen during it and I do like exploring how it affects Roswyn and how she feels about her partner, sex in general, and "learning" in that department. With enough experience maybe she'll be able to learn to juggle her professionally authoritative nature with a relationship. That being said, the development is not always there and I do tend to fade to black more often than not.
  19. Make me a star-crossed crumpet.
  20. Personally, my process was a little in reverse. Ros's backstory and development influence what classes were chosen to depict what was happening to her as she changed and grew up. Ex: "This character was born in the Shroud so it seems logical she'd know how to use a bow. " Instead of: "I want my character to use bows so I think I have to make her be from the Shroud."
