  1. Hey! We're still looking for new people, especially conjurer/healers for our IC dungeon runs, etc. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=11667 Check us out! Contact any one of the FC officers (Me, Adeya, or Synn) if you're interested.
  2. The thing is that the Gem of Shattoto is a very specific item. Whether or not there are other BLM soulstones is not touched upon. Depending on how you interpret the lore that we have, it's likely that there are others, because you can't have a Wizarding War without multiple Wizards, but your mileage may vary. This definitely. I think that someone theoretically could have the soul stone of a different black mage from that time. You'd prolly have to make up some stuff/lore bend a bit but it's not impossible. Unlikely. But not impossible. Make stuff up? Bend lore? Oh my gosh, that's... that's... Reasonable. Well, there's a difference between bending it reasonably and ignoring it completely.

  4. Since this is my life right now... I hate people who think deadlines are a suggested due date. I gave you a month and a half to do this work that should have taken a week at most. Just do it omg. Anywho: As for escalators. After living in Japan for so long, I hate when people stand on both sides. Left is for moving, right is for standing....now get out of my way before I push you >.<
  5. It really depends on the job. The game doesn't do a very good job of showcasing how prevalent (or not) these items are, or even if they're mandatory given the special circumstances of the Warrior of Light. A lot of us are figuring it out as we go (because the soulstones are an afterthought for the most part in 2.x, given that they were a huge asspull in 1.x) and the new cutscenes for 50-60 don't always point out how vital these things could be. It's less about throwing lore out of a window and more about trying to figure out how to undo two years of established assumption in a setting where the details are held very close to the chest. I mean, if you've got SE-approved definite lore that everyone missed, feel free to link and source it. You of all people should be aware that sometimes we learn things later and need to retool them after details come out. How's your wiki? Been lazy as fuck changing it. I don't really expand my RP pool so everyone I RP with knows what's up so my brain is like, "I'll do it later." Edit: AH! I should extend his history portion since a lot of shit recently happened really fast... I'll do that tonight after work...
  6. I love seeing all the lore abiding citizens (pfffft that was punny) throw this piece of lore out the window for the sake of...I guess convenience? Some of the jobs really do 100% rely on their soul crystal/stones though...(A lot of Japanese bloggers call it 魂石...and the text is soul crystal so I get confused sometimes >.<). Anywho. Yeah, this was really interesting!
  7. I should fix that... well if your trip to azys lla happens to snag you a smn soulstone and you try to use that new found power to try and squish that pesky dragoon, I won't call foul. That may have been on my "to-do" list. I have multiple plans for you >.< I need to contact you in-game at some point. Just sitting on 3.1...but I gotta kill an Ishgardian Noble first >>
  8. Do I need to explain to you what I suffered from you? haha I think it's mostly a matter of keeping your OOC cards close and dropping subtle hints. Surprising enough...Ashe too loyal to betray his friends... As for people like you...Yeah...OOC cards very very close. Even though you know I'm plotting to try and murder Orrin >>
  9. I think there are some (not all) jobs that really need it though. Going back to Black Mages, the quest literally has people spontaneously combust because they don't have the soul stone and are casting with Black Magic. Ninjas also have the stones in the quest line. Like how you physically accept one from a dead ninja and how Karasu gives his up to not be a ninja anymore. Anywhooo. Lots of interesting insight though.
  10. I'm curious because I've only ever seen them mentioned twice ICly...once by myself with Kasumi as a ninja from Doma and once by an FC mate with his DRK-ness. I see a lot of people RP jobs and never really mention having the soul stones. For Ashe as a "black mage," I took his casting as a black mage to be like the ones in the 50+ quests...the ones who spontaneously combusted from casting as they did without having soul stones. Hence...him not really casting all that often because don't want to kill yourself kind of thing >> So... What say you?
  11. Not really...? Kinda yes and no. But not really... I main BLM but Ashe is more of a ninja/rogue at this point >.<
  12. Riven will get you killed, nooooo!!!!!! I'll bug you sometime this week though >> At work now...
  13. Elezen aging isn't that much different from Hyur. If he's 18 as an Elezen, he's probably like late 20s? Early 30s? Nothing too dramatic. My character is...the son of an Ishgardian noble who deserted and was later (due to plot things that happened) adopted into his uncle's family...so he's back to being a noble? He's kind of a dick though >> Servers are down and not much to do about it now...but I guess interested. If you're not already a part of the Ishgard LS, you should join! ...if you are and I am just blanking on it...Hi xPP
  14. Triggered. Black magic has jack-all to do with the void. On topic: Black Mage: Convincing people black magic has anything to do with the void. Part of the joke >>
  15. Dark Knight: Tell your pupil to stand in the fire and conveniently forget to say "but not for too long." Black Mage: Initiation is going into town and summoning some voidsent. Bard: Go be a moogle bitch for a day. It's mandatory >.< We are all bards.
  16. Also, there is a ton of lore in the books in the library in Sharlayan/The Hinterlands related to this. I suggest finding a group that is willing to let you read all the passages in there.
  17. My whole FC is based around this premise. We work in secret though and have members in high places, etc. So.... Lots of people smuggling and lying and what not. I would say it's possible...but you either got to know the escape routes or know people to help you out.

    Nobility

Maybe it was just me, but I interpreted Doma to have multiple "princesses" depending on who the Shinobi served/the region/holding...or something else. Yugiri and that whiny Raen from the 50+ nin line both held a lot of power over the ninja. I may have interpreted that wrong though.
  19. Obligatory bump post for the month. Still waiting on 3.1 for Azys Lla plot.
  20. Wait, are these real? I don't watch TV to know. Quick Edit: The second one completely misses the purpose of the game. It sounds like Louisoix is telling them to take over the world, not save Eorzea >.<
  21. Both? We know that Hyur and Elezen have their tensions (The Elezen thinking they are above the Hyur) and we know the "lowborns" are defecting because they are finding out that everyone is essentially equal as long as they have the thing... Dislike for Hyurs may also stem from the war with Ala Mhigo? I think there's also tension between different types of Elezen but I am not sure... I think there is a bit of both though because those Elezen, despite the classism with Hyur, are okay with murdering Xaela and rejecting Roe/Miqo'te/Lala from their society as well if they don't serve a purpose for advancement. I always found the MSQ as an Elezen was funny because there were Elezen who were blatantly racist against my Elezen and I'm like HE'S WILDWOOD WHY YOU HATING HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE YOU BRO!! They SEEM to get along with the Elezen in Gridania though (Wildwood, not necessarily Duskwight--this is unclear to me so I won't claim that I know. I am still convinced that one of the houses is Duskwight though 'cause Dezmael Darkhold is a cave and we all know Duskwights love their caves). Anywho~ That's my two cents.
  22. That chat scroll though... Despite the type of RP I engage in (My main is a noble with a shitty attitude), I'm too afraid to engage with others randomly. The last event I went to, I told my FC about it because we needed to fill our event day and we formed a party and went. We engaged with each other mostly and I noticed a lot of people engaging with only people they knew too. Someone in my FC tried to engage others and they completely blew her off. At the same time, another dude in my FC was a freakin' social butterfly!!! Even the person/people I engaged with outside of my FC I knew from an LS. So yeah...I suggest trying to find people you know who are going ahead of time or make connections before hand and invite someone with you. If you see other loners, maybe engage with them too!! ...I'm pretty sure there's an entire FC of characters pissed at my character right now from the last event I was at hahaha..../cries This is why I don't go to events often >>
  23. I do not RP a lala or a miqo'te so I wish you luck. However, if you want to RP nerding about aether sometime, please feel free to contact me!! Ashe is a dick but he's an aether nerd too...his research is mostly in reviving Allagan technologies, but is very interested in aether flows and kind of blew his eye out with his research (He had Aether sight before it was canon >>>) Anywhooooo wish you tons of luck ('cause none of my characters fit the lala/miqo bill) and would love to RP something in the future! Yay for science!
