I sometimes AFK in the QS and on the roof of my FC house... Other times I'll AFK at the fountain in Foundation in Ishgard. .... Other times I'll use my "AFK naked" set and AFK naked in my character's bath in his room in the FC house >> .....I have weird AFK habits >> Not gonna lie: I read that as "Smother you with uggs" and I was like, "Damn, that's a basic way to go."

I never said anything about casting from Hp. I believe my example was sacrificing your arm to void sent for greater power and then getting some op robot limb and telling everyone about it

How did you feel about Ilberd imbuing his sword with glowy red power and flying through the air in the climax of 2.55? Hmmmmm....I've been through 2.55 twice now and every time I watch those cutscenes I am already so fucking mad I forget to think about that haha. The feels never go way, man. Buuuut...I honestly don't know what to make of that. It's like DRK crap but it's not? Honestly those scenes were mostly for dramatic effect. I think it's possible to channel your aether into stuff...monks that heal with conjury (as Oli! was talking about), aren't impossible. There are cross class stuff and I know people who RP as having skills in more than one "class" ICly. Monks who can heal are more believable than someone who is a summoner, white mage, and black mage and channels their geometries, elemental stuff and earthly aether through their spear while leaping around like a dragoon while murdering primals >> Quick edit: I've had Ashe channel through another mage's staff while fighting him as a ninja. I don't mind stuff that is BELIEVABLE that is not on your hotbar...but if you're gonna make your character fly you better be able to back that shit up haha

Nope, it's not horrible. I'm saying that it may confuse the crap out of someone else. Then again...considering 90% of the RP I see going on about petty quarrels in the QS when I afk there, prolly will never be a problem ahahah >> I don't RP in taverns so maybe that's why I think differently. I do a lot of IC exploration and dungeons and lore/research-based type RP (yay IC excuses to run Fractal as my character so he can be like a kid in a candy store 'cause the library wasn't enough >>) So if I see someone pull a move out from their class/job that legit doesn't exist, like /emote casts a move that seems like it came straight out of WoW or another game and flies in the air like a majestic fucking eagle. ....then I get confused xPP

Is it bad that I refused to make a THM over a BLM 'cause of the THM guild being a punch of dumb as horse poop Lalafells? >> Someone in my FC's wiki says he has the echo and I was like "OMG YOUR CHARACTER HAS THE ECHO WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THIS AFTER RUNNING AN FC WITH YOU FOR A YEAR?!" and he's like "...I changed my mind once I realized it's not that big of a thing for RP." A good portion of players didn't play 1.0 or...were like me and gave up after a week 'cause it was broken (like legit, broken). Sorry my wiki needs mad updating and need a lot of re-writing and retconning since I wrote it months ago without knowing the lore as well as I do now and haven't found time to go back and read it. Most people I RP with know my characters Black Mage-ness is not the main part of his character. I changed a lot because I know that black magic is illegal. My character is mostly ICly just a researcher of Allagan tech...and and anddddd uses "Doman Magic" (/cough ninjutsu) for combat. I had to change a lot of stuff because I was gonna kill him off anyways and then decided against it >> Thanks for reminding me since I was working on Zeph's wiki so much~ I'll get to it once I'm done with a ton of work I have to get done~

I RP one who doesn't show himself as a mage at all because....duh >> That and Black Magic is dangerous to use in general...wouldn't recommend doing it without 1) keeping it a secret and 2) ICly having a soul stone for it 'cause if you don't and you use it too much/wrong you will just blow yourself up (literally). I would take all 1.0 class lore (not regular lore like the history of Hydaelyn) with a grain of salt and here is why: 1) Most players don't play by this lore because most people are not 1.0 players. Yes, some know the 1.0 class lore but majority do not and majority will have no idea what you're talking about. 2) The lore team working on FFXIV now retconned most of the classes. Black Magic currently isn't really life or death magic as it was in 1.0, but it's more of a technique of using thaumaturgy that takes aether from the earth, destroying the land, and making your own magic stupidly powerful. If used incorrectly, you risk spontaneous combustion (as seen in 3.0). 3) The 1.0 THMs were much much much darker than the ones now. I feel like it would be difficult to RP with that explanation of the magic. If you go around RPing that kind of special snowflake who harms themselves for the sake of their magic, people may be turned away. I RP a black mage who does not cast correctly and, therefore, doesn't cast often at all. My advice would be don't go further than replacing your eye with materia or something minor that isn't like, "My character has an ironworks magiteck arm after cutting it off and sacrificing it to the void to make his magic the most powerful ever." or something....either way, I wold take the 1.0 class lore with a grain of salt 'cause it is 90% defunct.

Ashe is 28, Shar is 18, and Zeph is 24... I have another potential alt who is 26 but he doesn't fully exist yet 'cause still deciding what to do with him....

Before The Fall has been on loop for me for the past few days and anything for Heavensward is only gonna make it worse for me I almost exclusively listen to the FFXIVARR/HW Soundtracks while I work. I'm amazed I haven't made some sort of huge slip up yet xPP WHY ARE ALL THESE MANGA CHARACTERS REFERENCING FFXIV?! Or something haha

Hmmmmm my two cents.... If you pick up volume 32 of Toriko or 8 of Seraph of the End and the line "Estinien my darling" appears anywhere in it I learned my lesson of how dangerous this soundtrack is for doing my work haha. Been looping it for the past few days while I am at work haha

I have 3 alts already and have been RPing for years. I preferred NOT to make my own alt again because I wanted Ashe to be involved in the RP and there would be no point if that couldn't happen I think. I also hate playing Dragoon (I have Ashe's dragoon to 50 >>) and would prefer not to do 2.x/3.0 again (like literally....I just finished for the third time). I know there's a myriad of people who have alts and just let them sit/don't know what to do with them so this was mostly aimed at them. I RP in a close knit group because RP in FFXIV is actually really closed off in terms of making connections (I've come to realize that there is more of an illusion of how easy it is rather than it actually being open) and two....I refuse RP in the QS and other tavern locations. I don't like city RP that is aimless and random--I find it mundane and would rather do what I talk about than just talk about it and pretend I actually RP'd it. Lastly...I am actually shy about making connections >> The impossibility is not from me handling it on my own--though I'd prefer not to because it'd defeat the purpose...your own alts can't interact with each other in a group. Trust me, if I wanted to handle it on my own, I could've and not made this thread in the first place haha So yeah >>

All the time...In my head I am apologizing for how I write Ashe all the time. Like "Sorry he just insulted you and bluntly told you you have no talent for xyz and that you should give up and go back to your day job as an unintelligent oppo oppo." ....Like, I don't think that. I may be thinking like "man, this character is awesome/funny/interesting," But my character wouldn't think so because of xyz prejudices he has against them... I know some people have their characters similar to their real life personalities...for me, that is no fun....I like to branch away from myself as far as possible. Three out of my four characters are male...and I am not a man. tl;dr yes, all the time. And I'm sorry if I rp with you in the future and Ashe is an asshat.

That's like suggesting that if a hyur sleeps with a dog (like, a little dog) they will have dog-Hyur mix baby....which is not the case. Dragons and the races of Eorzea...if they were to mix sexually, would most likely be sterile, albeit kind of disgusting to think about >> Au Ra are not dragons. I'd like to point out one more thing... If you're going to be dealing with primals and killing them on your own, you should be mindful that a) your character must either be a WoL or have the echo at major major MAJOR risk of being tempered and/or just slaughtered outright without Hydaelyn's blessing. I was talking to someone in my FC and if you have the 1.0 version of the echo as part of your character's...history(?) and were of the people transported 5 years into the future ICly, then it may make sense for you to be able to be a cut above the rest and have less risks if you were say, one of the many people sacrificed to Ifrit by the Immortal Flames just to keep him at bay >> I admit that I take major risks with the RP I do on Ashe. Summoners are difficult...I OOCly have a summoner on my Xaela 'cause I wanted to be that cool kid who, before she was a Xaela, had a Hyur Sharlayan who was descended from Allagans and her family line was one of those genetic test subjects (like the CT quest dude) and did tons of research on the lore, etc. but it was just.....really difficult to RP. Like trust me, I get you haha

Nope, that's not sarcasm. Everyone has different ideas of what is a sensible power level for characters for IC interactions. If you live in some fantasy world thinking everyone just accepts everything everyone does, then that'd be kinda weird. For example, myself and others tend to limit our interactions with people who RP as though the MSQ happened...I'd prefer to limit my interactions with someone who would ICly say that they have felled what are, essentially, gods. Everyone has their own idea how this and who they like to RP with. Now that I understand what he interpreted for RP, I understand why my views conflict with his. Simple as that. Let me elaborate: If you want to get an 8 man party together to build your story and fight a primal ICly on EX mode or whatever, that's totally cool and maybe believable. If you're gonna tell me you felled a primal on your own ICly....that pushes my limits for what is acceptable for ME to believe ICly.

I think you and I have a different idea of how the power levels of characters in RP should be handled. You lost me at your character ICly fighting primals haha.

@Warren White mages deal with elemental stuff so I am suggesting if you want to really bend the lore ('cause this person's goal is to summon "elemental horses") you can say you're a white mage.... Black Mage, same thing...if you want to bend the lore and be summoning voidsent or other weird, unworldly things, go ahead. Everything is bending the lore though in the end.
