balmung Ul'dah Noble - Looking for Connections
Larson replied to Barbarccia Valadis's topic in Chronicled Connections
I'm not sure there are noble Hyur in Ul'Dah. Afaik the royals are exclusively Lalafell. Ul'Dah's wealthy elite are sometimes called "Lord" or "Lady", but it just means they have a ton of money. It isn't nobility. I don't know that the Sultanate has ever ennobled a non-Lalafell either though they are very friendly to the other races. As far as the Syndicate goes, you get there by buying your way in. -
It depends on the material and the tier and the item being made and the quality and the merchant selling it. You can make it any price you want, really. As long as it feels right to you. Dadarupo would likely charge eh...up to a few hundred thousand gil for a masterpiece. Think about it: You could get a T-shirt at Wal Mart for a $7, or you can get a Tshirt a Nieman Marcus for $700

You may want to define what you mean by this because arguably many people will say that Dungeon gear are incredibly simple to acquire because all it takes is running dungeons and that crafted gear is more difficult because of price. However Edgar's point is that the gear image you posted with "The Vault" underneath is not from The Vault. Adamantite Armor Sets (Fending+Maiming), Chimerical Felt Cyclas (Striking, Aiming, Scouting, Chimerical Felt Robe (Healing+Casting) Purchased by Heavensward Vendors NQ (Idyllshire, Matoya's Cave), Sidequests HQ, Crafted LVL 58. They are ilvl 145 Weird. I got the coat in the vault. anyway its a placeholder for now

I'm mostly listing the ones that aren't available through simple means

With tongue-and-cheek humor, the same could be said of Cannibalism. As long as your friends are okay with it, go for it. You don't have to do what everyone else likes and wants, but if you do have friends that don't like it, just don't tell them. It couldn't possibly come up and be a problem. Will the idea still make you happy in spite of how others may treat you? If the answer is yes, DO IT. DO IT NOW. If the answer is no, it's time to jump into a brainstorm.

Unless your name is Gilgamesh, that is. Gilgy qualifies as a superlative like Shantottohohohoho.
-
*Lalafell laugh* "Fool! Why, the very idea of not turning profit I- I couldn't possibly conceive of such a disgraceful thing." *throws a bobbin of silk thread at Rini* "That's fine thread. Make it into something and sell it. Or you can hang yourself with it." *hairflip*

Per Enix lore, all the worlds in which everything happens in any Square Enix title (and apparently Disney animated title) exist connected by the same universe or parallel universes. There is a whole 999/Schroedinger's Cat appeal. The things that tie them together are the existence of crystals, warriors of light, and the very real struggle between light and darkness. Each world is very different but also very similar. If you look at Dissidia, heroes and villains from all the different Final Fantasy worlds (including Shantotto) are pulled from their respective worlds to do battle. In Kingdom hearts, the Disney worlds are accessible by space-ship. In Bravely Default, we see the Warriors of Light traverse the boundaries of parallel worlds that are nearly identical to their own. And then there is Lightning. At the behest of a goddess, Lightning existed within a plane that is both separate from all worlds and connected to all worlds. In short, traveling from XI to XIV is not impossible, but it is something only a Warrior of Light, a being bordering godhood (O-hohohohoho!), or a being by the grace of a god can accomplish. Claiming your character has reached these levels or had that kind of interaction is incredibly reaching. Afaik, only the Warriors of Light have ever "accidentally" fallen into the void and landed somewhere new. Because it's never purely coincidence- there is always a higher entity pulling the strings.

Thanks Kage! Adding in some facts to the list. I forgot to mention, don't quote the images. I don't want to overload the page!

Reserved in case we get the image limit.

So, I've been seeing some dungeon(and non-dungeon) armor recently that I want, and I realized I couldn't find a list of where to get them. I figure I might as well put a thing together. Basically, I'm going to post the groupings, and you all can help me properly label the dungeons or things they come from. Eventually, I'll be adding notes on the requirements to obtain the items pictured. ((NOTE: Don't quote the images. Let's keep the image traffic to a minimum)) Labyrith of the Ancients - 1st Section of Crystal Tower Raid (Mor Dhona) You must have completed the quest Primal Awakening and unlocked Crystal Tower. Req: Lvl50/iLvl55 Syrcus Tower - 2nd Section of Crystal Tower Raid (Mor Dhona) Needs completion of Labyrinth of the Ancients. I. Basic Info Primary Characters: Solmund Whyte, Dadarupo Boborupo Others: Rhik'li Varekai; Nascent Flame; Fleurnoy Archeleux; Cordena Whyte Free Company: Harbingers of Dawn Linkshells: N/A II. RP Style Classification I recently discovered I qualify as a Heavy RPer. I care about lore quite a lot, and spend most of my days brainstorming ideas. Currently I am in a leveling phase and am rather scarce, but I'll always drop what I'm doing to RP. Skype RP is also A-ok. Combat/Injuries If your character attacks or otherwise attempts to harm someone else, you need to acknowledge the risk involved. This is a world of fireballs and giant axes. This is also a world of mortals. I am fine with combat and injuries, but I will not allow death without it being of my own plot. Therefor I do not often create characters who regularly engage in activities that involve attacking others without just cause. Romance FF14 is the first game in which I have explored romance. It's a subject that interests me and I think it's a good way to form lasting friendships with other RPers to have your characters part of one another's lives. With that said, only my main is available for any sort of romance RP. It just isn't a good idea to try to hold romances on alts. RP In General While I tend to mostly RP with FC mates, I'm happy to step beyond and RP with anyone. The subject of course depends on which character I am playing at the time. My characters each have very different personalities, worldviews, and skills, so they are not cut out to handle anything that comes their way. Solmund Whyte: Ul'Dahn Merchant Lord of Whyte Contrivances and Intelligence gatherer for the Harbingers of Dawn under Saint Edda Vincents. Dadarupo Boborupo: Full-fledged Warrior-turned-Weaver, Master Couturier of Whyte Contrivances, Friend and Confidant of Solmund Whyte, inventor. Rhik'li Varekai: Keeper Clan hunter-turned poacher laying low under the Order of the Twin Adders. Cordena Whyte: Estranged sister of Solmund Whyte, aids Ala Mighan refugees at Quarrymill. Nascent Flame: Hellsguard third-born who is torn between banditry and vigilantism. Bodyguard. Fleurnoy Archeleux: Archer of low-born Ishgardian heritage and retainer of Solmund Whyte. Lore If you are an RPer that regularly bends or ignores lore for the sake of creativity, more power too you. We will likely not be a very good match for RP friends. I believe that lore is the most important thing about RP. It is the physics of a universe that you cannot and should not ignore. III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: Eastern Standard Time Contact Info: You can send me a message here, or to one of my characters in-game. I'll see it eventually.

I'd be happy to come RP speaking to you, but Sana isn't overflowing in gil in any way, RP or game-wise at all. lol Dadarupo is glad to snub poor people that request commissions any day. I'm porting him over from Mateus tonight!

*gasp*

Dadarupo Boborupo is a Weaver and tailor for Whyte Contrivances and in affiliation with the Weavers Guild. He is -not- cheap by any means, but is an exceptionally fine tailor. He specializes in damask, and has even managed to devise a way to place stable arcanima in his products for those elite and exclusive customers. Oh, but you didn't hear that from me.

I think Ser Aymeric being naked is a scene we will all never forget we need. But honestly the actions cutscenes in this game are fantastic. I can't wait to get 3.1 patched because these spoilers are exciting me.
-
I try to not see.. demon dragon cat vampire hobbit girl men! But if someone wants to be void touched, I can roll with that. The thing with horns is you can hang things on them or pop a cork on the end. The Au Ra I made looks really sad. I think it's because his horns make it impossible for anyone to kiss him on the lips, so he is basically Drew Barrymore.
-
Ser Aymeric hair pls.
-
If they ever release an Aymeric outfit all bets are off. I'll put that on Solmund regardless of how many other people are wearing it.
-
I'm pretty sure that Au Ra is wearing an Astrologian mask and that is why her face is darker. But the textures look horrid.
-
I had this error when I woke up the morning. Didn't have time to explore it. Sadness.

I'm not sure where you got your facts from in Japanese. Beautiful - 美しい "utsukushii" The kanji used here is "utsuku" in the context of beauty. Kanji is rooted in Chinese, so it may be pronounced "mi" or something similar there. To Congratulate (dictionary form) - 祝う "iwau". Kanji is "iwa". Congratulations - おめでとうございます "omedetougozaimasu" Water - 水 "mizu" Tree - 木 "ki" (can also be translated as "wood") Moon - 月 "tsuki" To Look (dictionary form) - 見る "miru". Kanji is "mi". Moon Viewing - 月見 "tsukimi". (This is a noun not a verb) Names in Japanese don't follow rules like that. It's two separate kanji shoved together to make a word that doesn't really have a meaning other than the sound it makes. You could use any Kanji that makes the same sound. In fact it's a whole name game in Japan where you change the kanji in peoples names and harass them (Japan has an enormous bullying problem). The kanji for particles of beauty and moon can become "she's an overwatered tree". In the context of FF14, the symbology of the name is taken out of the equation due to the lack of Asiatic characters. So ultimately, if it sounds nice to you, do it.

I was going to start the patch before leaving for work but I'm getting a version error. Apparently my version of FF14 does not match the current version. Fucking duh... It's suggestion is reinstall. Um. Or I could just go jump into the sun.

With the addition of Void Ark, how have the optimized gear methods changed?
