Doubt I will go back, simply for the reason that well, the roleplay here is one of the best quality roleplay communities I've seen, and I got no desire to return to WoW for that. Had a blast in the past with the game, but I will not return. No interest in the PvE there, no interest in the RP, no interest in PvP either on WoW. I got my old WoW buddies on Skype, so that's not a reason either to return.

As far as I've understood, they can kiss NATO support goodbye as they attacked first. Turkey knows damn well that Russia is just bombing the fuck out of ISIS, and not to mention the reports seem to show off that it got shot down above SYRIAN ground, not Turkish. Surely Russia had a part in it as well, but I cannot feel but Turkey just trying to cause drama at this point.

What do you use to record/archive chat log?
Virella replied to ShedoSurashu's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Friend of mine uses his parser for logging RP, so I do know its possible ! He might just post here later himself about it. ACT doesn't though, and that's the one I use. IC = In character -
What do you use to record/archive chat log?
Virella replied to ShedoSurashu's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
At this point there are no addons available in the game, so the only /legal/ way to do this is to copy pasta things into a document. However I do believe one of the parsers, the one I don't use, does store chatlogs as well. But I'm not certain how that works, and not to mention, it isn't legal. However, everyone uses them, or at least raiders do, and as long you do not speak about it ingame, or harass people with their terrible DPS parsing, SE doesn't care. But eh, as for legally storing your conversations? I fear you will have to copy paste the text into a document. -
[NSFW] RP Discussion: Bad words said IC, for it or against it?
Virella replied to Avira's topic in RP Discussion
Ave uses swive as well But yeah, Ave drops the f-bombs 24/7, and worse. Never had anyone bring up issues with it though. In truth, I do feel Ala Mhigan characters get away with it easier though, seeming well, eh, the crudeness sort of fits them. Virella on the other hand doesn't curse at all. There's a time and place for having characters curse, and it massively depends onto what type of character you roleplay as well. -
Holy mother of look at that sexy piece- WAIT YOU ARE THE ONE OF MY FRIENDLIST WHO SUDDENLY GOT THE GARLEAN NAME, THIS EXPLAINS ALL

Find the River [Lost River seeks Friends!]
Virella replied to Lost River's topic in Chronicled Connections
If I'm not already ganked with roleplay, I'm always up for some! Feel free to toss me an ingame whisper (on Avelyn), or message over the RPC! Either way, if you're up for it, I'm sure we can work something out for rp someday -
7bDg7n-chhU This has been on my repeat for two days straight now. Gods, I love the first 30 seconds of this song sooo badly.

Avelyn chuckled as Kage replied. Soon after she found herself nodding in agreement "I find myself havin' th' same opinion about th' man." and gestured towards Franz with a grin. She then made the mistake to look down at whatever Franz was eating as she stood beside him at the table. Sniffing the air around her around her, it didn't take long before the Ala Mhigan woman pulled a face of disgust. Fish never been her thing, and she always had hated the smell of it. And even if a Garlean was eating it, it still wasn't worth gagging over to try to take it from him. " 'm not stealin' tha'." she told Franz, and took a step away from Franz at the table, as she tried to distance herself somewhat from the horrendous smell. Looking at Kage, she flashed a toothy smile up to him. "Before I start ta tell ye how this shite 'nd I met, lemme tell ye me name. Avelyn Firestone, nice ta meet ye 'nd all tha'." and gave him a polite nod. She then pulled yet another face, as if she were to gag, when she caught another whiff of the fish, and then decided it may be for the best to take a seat at the opposite side of the table. When she had seated herself, she started to unbuckle her right glove, and set her eyes onto Kage as she then started to explain how Franz and her had met! "Met th' bastard in some shitty tavern. Endin' up drinkin'. Didn't want ta fuck me. Then eh..." Ave looked at Franz once again, and squinted at where his third eye would be before she turned her attention back to Kage. "Then we ended up in some pissin' argument about eh, things. Not th' fuckin' part tho' I can live without swivin' him." and huffed. "He couldn't handle a proper Ala Mhigan woman even if he tried." she casually told Kage, loud and clear for anyone listening into the conversation as she threw her glove down onto the table, and started to fiddle around with her other glove. Franz was probably going to regret letting Avelyn do the talking.

Gods, she hated this place. Often she wondered why she even bothered with jobs here. The people where just as obnoxious as the Shroud was, although thankfully the Gridanians left their insults with whispers mostly these days. Whereas some of her kinsmen would had dressed according to the fashion in the Shroud to try to avoid conflict with the local people, Ave simply didn't care. In truth, she took pride out of provoking the citizens with parading in her Temple garb. Surely it came with a few annoyed glances and insults behind her back, but the Gridanians where as docile these days as their Twelve-damned forest was after the Calamity. Avelyn did not often thank the Garleans, if at all, but she simply couldn't lament the fact the Elementals lost their strength due to them. ... And speaking about Garleans. As soon she stepped inside the Canopy she saw her favourite one. Not that he was the only one who she managed to converse with properly, or didn't murder after. Making sure Franz, and the unknown lalafell at his table saw her, she raised her voice, and lifted her hand up and yanked a thumb towards Kage's direction. "Oi Franz! Since when do ye have friends? Besides, ye ain't givin' me booze away are ye now?" she grinned, and made her way up to their table whether she was invited or not. After all, Franz meant free booze. Or at least stealing his drinks, or his food, would make her trip to Gridania somewhat enjoyable again.

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Virella replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
Updated Ave's for a large part, still need to put down more tabs in her relationship section for family ect, and her background story needs more updating but blargh, I got the majority of people added to her wiki now who I've roleplayed with as of late. So I got that going at least. Vi's on the other hand needs a massive overhaul. Maybe someday. Maybe. -
Good point there as well Olli, we don't really know what the current weather is in any case. Things might have gone to hell there as well for all we know. Ishgard appears to be as mountainous if not more so then Ala Mhigo, hells if we look at the map? Ishgard is build onto a mountain, whereas Ala Mhigo doesn't appear to be as high up as Ishgard. And Ishgard only got the snow due to the calamity! And same about the belly window.
-
Counterpoint: Yeah that's dragoons though, and I don't know why the hell that belly window makes any sense, BUT LETS NO GO THERE BECAUSE IVE SEEN THIS DISCUSSION BEFORE. BUT IN GENERAL, THE NPCS TEND TO DRESS ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER THEY COME FROM AYE? That was the whole point, sniping out one exception compared to the many other examples eh. Well. No.
-
"No chance in hell the majority of Ala Mhigo's ground were covered with snow, if we are to judge from the attire of their religious sect." Surely, mountain peaks, season changes ect, but eh, majority of the time? Nah, I really, really doubt that. Surely fantasy is one thing, but SE tends to ish keep racial gear in mind in that regard. You don't see too many Ishgardian elezen in skimpy outfits, and dressed rather warmly. You don't see Ul'dahn npcs wearing shittons of layers of clothing like the Ishgardians tend to do ect. Dravanian Forelands weather, if anything that's my bet for Ala Mhigan weather. No snowy people, no hot weather people either (gods if I hear one more person go about how Thanalan heat reminds them of Ala Mhigo, I will slap them with my keyboard >: ( )

If you click on it in the OP, it will enlarge the image. To this size yes

IS THIS A PICTURE FOR ANTS? Seems more like clouds to me. No snow. Anyhow, snow? Nah, that's Ishgard now. Every bit of concept art we've been given seems pretty mountainous (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ala_Mhigo just scroll down). Hells, if anything I'd always imagined the tempature as it is here over in good old Holland. Not snowy, perhaps at times, because we do have summers and winters after all! Other times warm, but never really extremely cold or warm. Of course the mountains may have been very different, but mind you, mountains doesn't always imply snow after all! And seeing from the way Monk garbs for example are made, and those are traditional, pre-Mad King outfits, we hardly going to see fighters in cold areas with the gear they've worn. Surely aether and combat can keep you warm but eh, judging from this? And I believe the lore behind the AF2 gear is that they are the old school version of what people used to wear back in the days. Hells, Monks were even more skimpier clothed back in the days! No chance in hell the majority of Ala Mhigo's ground were covered with snow, if we are to judge from the attire of their religious sect Editing as I go by the way because I'm stuck doing a dungeon ;_; Give me a moment!

We all gravitate towards roleplay that is consistent with our own style and preferences. There is nothing wrong about this. It is unfortunate, however, when a preference or style turns into a "standard," which closes the door to many potentially valuable forms of roleplay and scenes. I fear that not every roleplay and scene is worth time and attention though. I totally get what you are aiming at, and I think Faye put it nicely, but there's nothing wrong with having standards. I would roleplay personally with anyone who walked up to me IC, and if they ask me OOC to RP? I would do it as well, just certain people I would never seek out for roleplay. May it be their chars not being interesting, their writing is meh, I don't like what they did with the lore, perhaps the situation and place of said characters meeting isn't ideal ect. There's plenty of reasons of not wanting to roleplay with someone without being a dick about it. We all play this game for our enjoyment, and eh, who are people to say what you should do, or not do, with that free time? Be as picky as you want, its your 13 euros per month you're paying.
-
Hah haaaaaaa I remember when this was a thing. This and the arguments over waypoints were enough to give a person Roleplayer PTSD. I made a dark skinned char from Lordearon, that triggered the fuck out of people on WoW. It was glorious. Gdi people, don't be so obsessive about skin colours and fantasy games. Unless you rp a white drow, then you can gtfo.

[NSFW] RP Discussion: Bad words said IC, for it or against it?
Virella replied to Avira's topic in RP Discussion
Because you know, perhaps, maybe, very maybe, Eorzea doesn't have SJW issues. Leave them out the door please, and keep roleplay to roleplay, because god, bringing real life issues into roleplay irritates the fuck out of me. -
[NSFW] RP Discussion: Bad words said IC, for it or against it?
Virella replied to Avira's topic in RP Discussion
If you cannot stand curse words for one reason or the other? I'd suggest simply flicking on the profanity filter again. Surely it will not block all, and eh, even the NPCs can be pretty lewd if not cursing like sailors, but it may stop some of if it if you don't wish to see it. Honestly, as long it fits the character, setting, and it ain't done to just sound edgy ooc? Go for it! -
RP Discussion: Dimensional Hopping and You
Virella replied to Warren Castille's topic in RP Discussion
Because some people just roleplay for the hell of it, and not to roleplay with the setting/lore? I do not know. Surely you can recycle your old alts, mains, character, or anything to be a fitting concept in Eorzea. But that is my 2 gil on the matter I suppose. -
Just some random screenies from little bit of rp I've had the past few days!
