Linkshells are chatchannels. Free Companies are guilds But you have so many different themes for them! From your good old mercs, to goodie two shoes, criminals, Ishgardians, monks, Ala Mhigo resistance ect. There's a lot to be found! Just toss out what your character would do. Aka look for merc work? Or is he interested into monk, or the Ala Mhigan resistance? Perhaps you would like to find some more social roleplay, heck, we even have a bloody courtesan linkshell! Really, there is so much around, but I would suggest giving us some themes what your character would work with

Vi is 28. However Ave is 42! Want her to be a proper Ala Mhigan/Fist of Rhalgr, so had to crank up her age. Not that I mind though, I enjoy roleplaying older characters often more than younger ones.

Balmung is the place you're looking for. Gilgamesh has a roleplay community as well, but Balmung's simply bigger!

In truth, I'm not the most confident person with roleplay, Vi is a lot more reserved then Ave is. But holy fuck, I suggest making a character who just kicks against everything. Talks with everyone, always a comment to make, stamps into taverns, drag random strangers into to drink with him and her; it is a ton of fun I've noticed, even if I felt really weird at the start doing it because hell, I'm a bit shy to start roleplaying. But it is really rewarding in the end to be the one dragging people into roleplay, instead of waiting to be dragged in yourself

People do it all the time, x being raised by another race. In truth, I think at this point people see it more as uninspired, seeming so many go for it, but going as far as saying it is cliché? I'm not sure. Personally I find it being used as an easy way out to roleplay a race with a background what normally doesn't make sense for them, what at that point I would go to myself "Why don't I just roll x race and make the story more fitting without having go look for all sorts of workaround?" But it can make for a good background story nevertheless. It's your character at the end of the day. I know a race simply sometimes doesn't look pleasing in the eyes of the player and prefer to roll another

Rarely! Although I admit on Virella I sometimes feel a bit iffy if people take it to an OOC level with Vi's hatred towards outsiders, what sadly enough happened. But mostly of the time I just roleplay with people who I know who can handle it.

Most active server as far as I'm aware, I transfered my main here a few months ago as well, no regrets whatsoever! If you are a roleplayer, it is certainly worth the cash.

In truth, if there was an EU 'roleplaying' server, I would had gone there instead of Balmung. In truth, the game is so cheap to pick up now, at least ARR is, and if people do get hooked, dishing out a bit more to transfer isn't that bad in all honesty. I know some people are disappointed they can't make characters on Balmung right away, and I completely agree with that because we are probably missing out on a lot of potentional roleplayers that way. But I doubt having a third server is going to solve a thing, unless there is indeed a mass exodus towards the new one. Starting up a new community is a hard task, and maintaining it even more so.

Yeah, no, please read the above. It's not nitpicking in the slightest. Hun, I'm not uneducated, and I'm involved in plenty of LGBT rights situations myself. You're totally missing the point that these are both medical terms - neither is slang, a slur, an insult, etc. Amen. Getting insulted over nothing is not going to help; especially due to the context that word was used into, it is really, really a neutral way of describing it, given Chiyo was using the medicial term for it in a neutral, open discussion about it.

Don't see why it should be a problem tbh, as long you don't make your character's gender/sexuality ect the focus of your roleplay. Treat it respectfully, and I don't think anyone would have an issue with it?

Unless you wish to dish out a lot of gil (small plots currently go for 30mil, and that is just to flip em), I don't think you should count onto people's kindness like that; housing business is serious business on Balmung I would just wait for next patch when for they are adding more plots/wards ect!
