  1. I know that. I was thinking about an Allagan manikin creator who grew fond of one of his creations and gave it a face and a mind, making it sentient, and keeping it for himself.
  2. I don't really remember the Crystal Tower questline, but if you're referring to Doga and Unei, if I'm not mistaken they were clones, not robots. Also, while I don't remember anything about "mannequins", that reminds of the manikin enemies from Fractal Continuum. I think they're robots, but I'm not too sure (sadly due to the parties I get I never have time to read the guide plates in the dungeon to get some lore).
  3. Nah, I don't like being OP myself. Honestly I was going to avoid making her fight (because if she gets hit it would soon become obvious she's a robot, and I don't want everyone to know she is a robot). I already have Isaulde as a fighter character, with this character I'm probably gonna focus on, well, non-fighting RP.
  4. Now, this might be a bit lore-bending, because we know so little about the Allagans, and future content risks making characters like this completely lore-breaking, but... (Also please tell me if something's not clear because English is not my first language and explaining certain concepts is hard for me sometimes.) What would you think of an Allagan (humanoid) robot character? She would be found by random Explorers/researchers in some Allagans ruins. After entire eras, she's still intact, but she has no memories of who she is, she doesn't even know she's a robot. The explorers take her away, believing she's an actual human. They ask her why was she found in ancient Allagan ruins, but due to her lack of memory, she is unable to answer, so they let her go, assuming she was just another explorer who was hit in the head and lost her memory. So, she starts wandering for Eorzea, with absolutely no memories aside occasional flashbacks (basically like the Echo but she actually "lived those moments). She thinks she's a human (she believes so because the explorers talked to her as if she was one), but is unable to feel any emotion at all. She has to struggle everyday not only with the fact that she doesn't remember anything and has no idea where to go or what to do, but also with the fact that everyone around her can be happy, sad, angry... while she can't, despite being (or at least she believes to be) exactly like them. Now, tell me... would this be possible without breaking the lore? Would it be accepted? Or should I give up on the idea?
  5. I would have come but I got disconnected just before it was time, and couldn't log on for the rest of the night :c
  6. I'll be online probably around 5pm EST, if you'd be available sometime around then? 5 PM EST... *goes check a timezone list* Yes, I should be available by then.
  7. Good news! In an hour or less I should be able to log in and stay on for a few hours!
  8. I'm ok with training more than one Dark Knight. Contact me (in-game I'm Isaulde Rabelais, but you probably had guessed that already, uh?) if you see me online if you want to set up things in a specific way (for example, you are attacked by Temple Knights and I protect you); otherwise, I'll probably be at the Forgotten Knight, and you can just approach me there.
  9. I'm looking for characters who want to learn the Dark Arts and the ways of the Abyss. My character Isaulde is a veteran Dark Knight and, although she is apathetic and hates company, I'd like to make her interact with someone to flesh her character out.
  10. I'd add another point between 3 and 4. - If that doesn't work, look at the party: if you have a Ninja, tell him to stop using Smoke Screen on you while you're pulling. ... It awfully happens a lot.
  11. Keep in mind it's not only a knockback, but a damaging oGCD, too, so it's DPS increase for them. So a Machinist hellbent on their rotation WILL use it on CD. I would have preferred something like Repelling Shot anyway, but we're stuck with that. (I picked MCH up today please don't hate me >_<)
  12. Oh yeah. I was there with Anthony when that happened. Not that it mattered because they were whispers, so... I don't really know what to say.
  13. I'm fine with 4.0 not being gated as long as the story isn't watered down just to accommodate new players skipping 3.x. Honestly, I think the "summary" for the 3.0 story should be all the MSQ dungeons + the trials in order, with the most important cutscenes, and maybe the instanced MSQ battles, like the trial by combat.
  14. <3 All I will say is that we could use another healer and tank! Though somehow I doubt RDM would end up as firmly in the healer/support role in XIV as it did in XI. Yoshi-P has said that he wants it to have healing and support options, but that (admitteldly) does not necessarily mean it is firmly placed in the healer/support role. Though, if FFXI was any indication... FFXIV is quite different from FFXI. Most classes, especially DRK, have already demonstrated that. The way I see it, RDM is gonna be a melee DPS with a rapier, with an heavy use of MP, magic spells that work like DRK's spells, healing spells that work like PLD's Clemency, and buffs like BRD's and MCH's. I think it would work very well this way, and it still allows it to mantain that "jack of all trades" feel. If they force into healer role, to make it work like FFXI's RDM, I'm not gonna even touch it, despite liking both healing and Red Mages.
  15. So, DRK Blood Weapon is a 20% reduction? Does that mean we're going to see TP costs that aren't a multiple of 10?
  16. If you don't mind paying, World Transfer bypasses restrictions.
  17. I had an idea to play a Padjal ICly without it being lore-breaking (lore-bending at most) but I'm too afraid to even try sharing it with others.
  18. I play FFXI and DCUO from time to time.
  19. I used to ICly travel with Aetherytes. Then I travelled on foot from Ul'dah to Gridania. It was... beautiful. And then Aetherytes disappeared from my RP.
  20. Is there a place for my Ishgardian Dark Knight character, Isaulde Rabelais? I'm still doing the MSQ to get to Ishgard, but once I unlock DRK I will finally be able to actually roleplay.
  21. Isaulde, being an Elezen, isn't exactly big and scary. Sure, she's tall, and she's supposed to have muscles (even though the character creator doesn't allow me to do that). But compared to Highlanders, Roegadyns and male Au Ras, she looks fragile as hell. So whenever she isn't alone or with someone she trusts, she's fully clad in black armor (soon to be replaced by the Esoterics DRK set), which can make every character look intimidating (except Lalafells).
  22. My character is a female Dark Knight but she bypasses all this stuff about periods because she's sterile. Hah.
  23. Isaulde is an actual Dark Knight. Not only she uses a greatsword and uses her emotions to fuel her powers, but she actually stays in Ishgard to protect the lowborn and the outcasts from abuse from the highborn. She's basically more paragonable to a Sultansworn Paladin, than to a free Paladin.
  24. Why do I still live in this shithole that people call "Italy"? Sigh.
