I used these for the ladies day screenshot contest; maybe it's the ones you define as horrid beige, but I found them matching just fine my white doublet.

I seriously do hope this is a joke, quite frankly. It's too early for FFXIV to get FFXI's Trust system, nevermind something more in-depth such as Favour x_X

Okay, then it's decided! I'd like a child version of Jet'a (with whatever style you used for this picture), full body. I'll let you decide whether it would look best coloured or not, I can afford either. This is the adult model of Jet'a, with the hairstyle he would have had as a child. Picture for hair Picture for hair 2 Picture for hair 3 (Also, as a note, as a child he wouldn't have that X scar on his nose yet; he has the cheek tattoos on both sides of his face, and a blue teardrop tattoo, like Blue in my signature, though his hair will probably hide it.) Just realized I have no pictures showing his tail, but he's got the wolf-like one typical of the Keepers (fluffy tail, if you want). The age would be of a 5-7 years old, the son of a family of hunters living in a tent camp in a forest. (Here's a part of a fanfiction related to that phase, if you want to read it to get an idea). I'll let you decide what clothes he would likely have worn in that environment, as well as the posture (I believe the less restrictions, the better results when it comes to art!). Add me (Jet'a Vann) as a friend so I can send you the initial 75,000 gil, and I'll pay the rest when I see with which style you decided to go for! ^^

I'm personally against romancing major NPCs, but I'd like to have some close friends time with E-Sumi-Yan sooo much! Sitting together somewhere and talk, play chess, discuss.. he must know so many things!

I had been thinking for a week to make a thread asking for artisans willing to take my gil rather than money. I am so poor IRL I couldn't even afford an extra retainer subscription or any of the official soundtracks, nevermind art >_< gil though aren't too difficult to come by, I have several crafting jobs that do for that quite well. I'll think about what I'd like to see made, and then I'll post my request! Thanks for creating this! EDIT: For reference, how would you do with drawing something of different age from your model? Thinking of what I'd like, I find a picture of Jet'a as a child on top of my wishlist.

My best suggestion is to make alts. I play 8 different characters, and always choose which one to go as depending on my mood. Some characters are good to be played only during specific moods, much like roles played by actors. And ANY character will grow boring after RPing in a while in the same environment, doing always the same things. Try start our a new one, something entirely different from your current character. Even just having two to swap between is a hearty relief when you feel burnt out.

I'm not sure if this was asked before, but is bringing a date mandatory? Almost all of my characters are single, and the only one who isn't wouldn't be interested in balls. I was thinking to come as Jet'a, but he really isn't interested in getting a date (I've actually spent a good amount of time thinking of who could more reasonably want to participate to the event and for what reasons, and Jet'a fits best). He won't come to dance, but he is looking for a specific person and knows that mundane activities are where he has better chance to find clues about them, so a date really isn't something he'd look for.

Considering the lore around the Starlight event, I find your plot solid and believable, no worries.

Hah! Glad to not be the only non-english speaker around Welcome aboard E'kayah. Hope you can enjoy the server. I'm Italian so I'm mostly active when everybody else is asleep, so maybe we won't see each other much. Hope to have a chance to meet you eventually!

Edit: Might as well give a version for all of my characters Blue: Blue is still working out with learning the world. Blade has managed to roughly tell her the differences between males and females (not too insight-ly, but she catches up fast). She luckily still hasn't experienced any of the daily life experiences where differences between the genders are shown, such as dates, balls, or sexist arguments. Ignorance is bliss, they say, and she is ignorant. So as of now, genders are equal to her in how they should be dealt with. --------------------------------------------------------- Jet'a: The Keepers of the Moon clan has a matriarchal society, and Jet'a's family was very strict on the matter, built around an amazon-like community. Only females were allowed to hunt, with males kept around the camp to do works such as crafting weapons, tanning, and assist the Matriarch in everything she needed. Jet'a was heavily taught to respect women, with particular care for those of his same clan, and he treats them all with reverential respect, never rising his voice against them, and hardly saying "no" to whichever request they might have. This consequentially brings him to hold a grudge towards men who are rude to women or do not give them the superiority Jet'a was taught to see in females. ------------------------------------------------------ Vincent: Vincent is only 17, and has been strictly followed by his teachers until just the other day. As of now, he hasn't shown any inclination towards either gender, but as the son of aristocrats, he was taught polite manners towards both. ------------------------------------------------------ Chiara: Chiara is in her mid-thirties, divorced (now we could argue whether divorce exists or not in Eorzea's lore.. her husband left Eorzea to escape the Calamity, so she's as close as legally divorced as she could be) and has a pretty desperate goal: to find her lost daughter. This keeps her pretty focused and not incline to be sidetracked by social conventions. However, she used to belong to the high society, and still holds the etiquette of her former status. She doesn't expect chivalry from other men, but that doesn't make her hold a drudge against men. She tends to trust everyone all too easily, perhaps naively so, unaware of the dangers and less-than-corteous reality out of Ul'dah's higher tiers. ------------------------------------------------ Dylise: Dylise is a young girl, and a bandit. She's the classical type that will try her best to keep up with the stronger sex, while not giving up her femininity. She likes to throw sexist puns to men from time to time, but it's mostly only to tease them. ------------------------------------------------ Kujh'a: Kujh is another Keeper, but unlike Jet'a, he was raised and taught to see women as pure terror. He is afraid of them, and tries to avoid eye contact if he can, especially with Keepers Female. His main reason for becoming an adventurer was that he wanted to show the world that a male Keeper can be as strong and brave as any Keeper huntress, or better! He feels highly in competition with women, but at the same time, he can't get himself to face them in direct confrontations without feeling the urge to go hide. ---------------------------------------------------- Clive: Ah, Clive. My lovely, sexist moronic jerk. The classical Jerk-With-A-Heart-of-Gold, he treats both genders poorly. He has a passion for women, but that doesn't keep him in line with them: if there is snarking to be done, he will serve even the gentle sex with his harsh words. He has a very difficult time engaging, unable to stay with the same woman for too long. More the one-night time type than the faithful partner, hands down. ---------------------------------------------------- Valeria: Valeria comes from an island of hunters, where little to no difference was had between genders. However, since her arrive to Vylbrand as a recruit of the Maelstrom, she was forced to face the cruel reality, often dealing with pirates or adventurers trying to put her down. This often causes her to feel in competition with men, but all in all she has always been able to stand up to every challenge. Her sexual orientation is still blank, apparently.

Well, that may be true about normal NPCs, but there are several manifestations of different languages in the game. The moogles, as I mentioned before; or think of the Paragons, it's with Echo that we understand what they say. Same goes for the Primals (I think the "understood thanks to Echo" dialogues are all those balloons with the strange, spotty frame). The names used by the naming conventions must belong to those races' natural language (I think there is an item or fight that explains in its description of how its name comes from Miqo'te language). Padjals too have their own language, as explained in the description of the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak. Languages are definitely there, imo.

My FC "Rose of Sharon" is an organization/cult that often times ends up being descripted as "evil" from the few people who have encountered it. That being said, any organization needs a goal, and not all the goals of the Rose's members are evil. The base requirement to join is "to have lost something one can't do without, and be willing to get it back at any cost, no matter how immoral it may be". Its members are obsessed with getting something, someone back, and will often do morally evil things to do so, even if the goals are for the good (of themselves, or someone else; after all, even villains think they're doing the right). For example, Jet'a is looking for his lost sister, and to find her he has broke the rules of his Keeper family that forbid males to fight and kill living beings, by joining the Black Mages, a job with many risks and "sins" in its lore and quests. He has taken lives, dwelt with magic affiliated to the void, and also practiced alchemy to coerce information through poisons and drugs. Another side of the Rose that could be evil, or good, depending on point of views, is their recruitment system. They do not accept applicants. They will travel to fulfill their own obsessions, and if on their path they will stumble into people who meet the Rose's "requirements" (having lost everything/something that causes them to no longer really have a normal life; orphans, fallen heroes, men and women with nothing left, no purpose in their life), they will kidnap them and force them into joining them, less through coercing and more through persuasion. Lastly, the Rose members do not speak of themselves to outsiders. That means that, while they may act for partially good and partially egoistic reasons, to the eyes of who have heard of them they will almost always look like bad guys. It's a 50/50, but we couldn't go with an evil organization without a goal, and "real" evil goals are not fulfill-able in RP, as they all go crushing against the god-moding wall (conquering nations, killing other people, stealing important stuff, taking over the world...). We don't have any members so far because we keep most of our RP via LSs, but recently we've been trying to open more to public RP so, if anyone is interested and wants to ICly join, they can contact me via PM to OOCly discuss of encounters and IC recruiting (Rose of Sharon is an FC, but it is not necessary to OOCly join it to be an IC member). Another character I have instead, Clive Stark, is not morally evil, but a plan moronic jerk. This often pushes others away from me when I RP as him, but hey, it's the price for RPing someone rude and harsh. I have a couple friends who have ICly seen Clive's heart of gold under his harshness, and enjoy every bit of RP I get with them.

Limsa Lominsa will always be my favorite city, but when I saw Coerthas I had to admit that is the most detailed area with the highest amount of different buildings for a roleplayer to take advantage of. Libraries, pubs, inns, prison, towers, many houses you can actually enter, and even an hospital. I really wished to see things like this in other cities, and the lack thereof really discourages me. I had put my hopes into housing, but unless individual housing will be cheap enough for me to afford, I don't see me being able to make the buildings I had in mind for my RP purposes. Best I can do is hope, I guess!

I know you said to not talk of lore here, but my opinion on the matter really is lore-weighed. As far as I know, the Adventurer, as one who possessed the Echo, has the ability to understand and speak all languages (it's how we can communicate with moogles). I guess it kind of works like in Harry Potter's books, where Harry doesn't even realize to be speaking with snakes: to him they all sound like the language he knows, and replies as such. I think the adventurer does the same. I figured it's why, when in quests we are given the option to reply in different ways to an NPC's question, the reply options are always in the same language/accent/dialect the NPC uses with you. I don't know if it makes sense... I know not all RPers like to follow the story and lore, but as far as I go, I usually roll with it. I have an Ala Mighan character who supposedly speaks Ala Mighan, but can understand the language of the other players and reply at ease in their same language naturally thanks to his Echo.

What do you think of the new "chat" quest in the taverns?
Blue replied to Blue's topic in RP Discussion
I'm surely good to hear these responses and see that there are other roleplayers willing to RP elsewhere and different stuff from drinking at the adventurer's guild. I had actually gotten disheartened by that some months ago, which is what led me to sort of leave the forums and stop checking with the RPC. I had actually begun giving tavern-RP a new go just last week (without much luck, see the "Confused and Frustrated thread"), and I found almost humorous that SE decided to disrupt the place right as I try to hang out in there for the first time since launch <_<; Hopefully though, I will find more open-world RP elsewhere, where other stuff than sitting and drink can happen! -
Aside the fact that Level 9 seems a bit late for the game to want to "teach" the new player how to use the /say chat (as if that was really necessary...), what do you think of its location? I'm personally annoyed that this quest was added in the Adventurers' Guilds. Yes, we're only at the first day of the patch, and in a couple weeks the amount of "Hail fellow well met!" and "You misunderstand" spamming will slow down, but there will always be new players, and the impossibility to "filter" the /say chat for that quest apart from the open-world /say chat often taking place in these sort of.. how to say... RP meccas spots is a small issue that, while not immersion-shattering, is at the very least mildly bothering. I don't know, what are your thoughts? Should we try and ask for a relocation of the NPCs for this quest to less popular spots, or will the phenomena die down enough to not accidentally mistake a player doing the quest for a new roleplayer attempting an approach? I've opened a threat in the General Discussion forum about this, but didn't get much feedback, so I figured I'd ask direction to the roleplaying community.

Extremes + Coil excluding T3. T_T; <_< They should've added Cuttery's Cry to the list. 3/5 times I do a run, the tanks run away soon as they enter.

Valeria Idavoll (my Highlander Female Marauder) is ICly a fulltime Maelstrom recruit. It's not my main, so I can't commit to this, but when I get a chance I would like to have her come over to offer support^^!

The requirements for this will hurt ;A; Completed Extremes and Coils T1-2,4-5 200 times? urk I just hope they didn't postpone these. I can't find their mention in the patch notes...

Oh my goodness, finally! Change Pose (/changepose) When using the Change Pose emote while standing, your character will cycle between the default idle stance and two additional poses. While sitting, your character will cycle between the default idle stance and one additional pose.

Would someone be willing to be queen for a day?
Blue replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in RP Discussion
Don't forget to find an Highlander to RP Nanamo's favorite perch , my friends and I always make jokes about Raubhan feeding the Sultana with crackers when no one's watching. -
I would like to give open RP another chance (haven't attended any event since the Gala at game launch), and this seems an awesome chance. I have FFXI RP on wednesday night, but I'll try and attend simultaneously or something.

I know the feeling. In this period most of my LS friends are inactive (college, work, stuff), and I've been feeling lonely. I spent the past two days in taverns trying to get some interactions with strangers (I was RPing on alts, so entirely new characters), and in two days, maybe a total 8 hours of attempts, I only managed a total of two interactions, both lasting less than five minutes because the others were busy RPing with their FC mates or friends. It really is difficult starting out alone...! You totally have my support.

I'm the black-cloaked miqo'te at the center of this picture <3!
