  2. Now that we're mostly past the initial slump of Stormblood, activity is picking up once again over at the Veil and the RP train is chugging along! Our official "grand opening" is coming soon- but we'll still semi-open nightly over at Lavender Beds, Ward 7, Plot 40! (Also totally dig the remodel)
  3. I can say the OP is a pretty awesome RP'er and does some pretty in-depth stuff, based on my past experience! Folks should totally hook in. I'm a little late to this party on account of things being a mess when this post went up, but I'm free to toss Kasi out there as a potential mentor now- especially to other Miqo'te. She operates in the grey spectrum in general with her own 'cause' and morale code, and can teach both polearms and swords. Regardless, hope you find something good!
  4. Was great seeing you the other night- hope the steak was worth the wait!
  5. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! You might want to consider tossing up a Making Connections post with your character details- might catch a few more fish that way. Regardless, best of luck over on Mateus!
  6. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! MMO is a bit of a different beast since it's a "persistent world." Storylines and characters continue to advance around the clock, even when you're offline, so it can be a little hard to keep up if you don't have a lot of time. Still, best of luck over on Faerie!
  7. Hey there and welcome (back?) aboard the RPC! The Making Connections forum will probably help the most for making targeted connections with other characters. Regardless, best of luck over on Mateus!
  8. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! Best of luck on the hunt over on Omega!
  9. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! You gone done lucked out being on Balmung already- and it sounds like you're off to a pretty good start with the Grindstone, too! The Quicksand in Ul'dah is also a pretty good place to eavesdrop and cut your teeth as you get deeper into the RP world. There's a whole lot of opportunity out there though, and it's a pretty big community, so it can take some time to settle in. If you haven't already, it might be worth tossing up a Making Connections post here- that'll give you some more direct contacts to work with that suit your character more perfectly. As for FFT... "I find dead men rout more easily."
  10. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! Sadly I'm not sure if there's much of a community presence on Famfrit but you might get lucky poking around. The bulk of the community is on Balmung, though as that's sadly locked down, you can find a good number of people over on Mateus too. It's probably worth the consideration if you're really gung-ho about getting into the RP!
  11. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC and to RP! Best of luck over on Mateus!
  12. Hey there, and welcome aboard the RPC! If you're looking to dive into roleplaying, you can toss up a Making Connections post here on the RPC to hit the ground running. It's a great way to get some targetted exposure with whatever you're after! Regardless, best of luck!
  13. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC and RP in general! Best of luck over there on Mateus- best option is going to probably be to try and plug in with a group so you can see how it's done and how it works, and cut your teeth in a relatively controlled setting. From there, you can branch out at your own pace and garner all sorts of connections!
  14. Hey there and welcome aboard the RPC! Best of luck over on Coeurl!
  15. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! Can't much help with Mateus, but best of luck over there!
  16. Hey there and welcome back aboard to the RPC! Best of luck over on Mateus!
  17. Oooooh. A past encounter and meeting again could be interesting. Can I contact you in-game? Totally! I'm usually in-game from around 5 PM CST - 11 PM CST, and all day on the weekends. I'm also on Discord too, if you want to poke me there! Thunderbolt300#0807.
  18. Hey there again! So, really either of your characters could very easily run into Kasi and probably get on with her pretty well too. In Tsuzuri's case, Kasi is also an avid enthusiast of exploration and sightseeing, and isn't any stranger to delving into dark places. Granted, her interests aren't scholarly- she's just got a wanderlust streak a mile wide and errs more on the martial side of the spectrum. In Arashiko's case, Kasi gets on especially well with kin and will go out of her way to give them a hand any way she can (Seeker or Keeper, doesn't matter- Miqo master race /nod). Kasi's got a good 17 years of combat experience with swords and polearms, and has largely earned a living on the road as a mercenary, which goes hand-in-hand with her wanderlust. If Arashiko is looking to find a starting point for adventure, a mentor, or just someone to run into along the road, Kasi could probably fill out that role! You're more than welcome to hit me up if any of this tickles- just lemme know! Best of luck!
  19. Hey there! You're certainly welcome to run into Kasi sometime, or have had a past encounter with her as a connection. Much like Hylda, Kasi has spent the better part of her last 17 years on the road as a wandering mercenary. She's operated mostly out of Gridania and Ul'dah over the years and tends to be a free spirit as well that's motivated more by exploration, sightseeing, and challenges than she is by gil (given that she's got her own moral code and tries rather hard to stay on the legal side of the profession). She's been involved with several criminal rings / underground organizations as well to various degrees- although she tries to keep that on the down low (if there aren't any witnesses, nothing happened). Currently she's most involved with an underground organization called the Veil. Anyway, you can delve into those things more in-depth via the links below- let me know if something tickles your interest!
  20. Hey there and welcome officially aboard the RPC! Best of luck on the hunt on Mateus!
  21. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! Best of luck on the hunt over on Mateus!
  22. Hey there and welcome back aboard the RPC and to Balmung! Gone done lucked out having a character over here already since the server has been completely locked down (albeit temporarily) with the coming of Stormblood (too big for our own good apparently). Also, not sure if you're aware, but any single character can swap to any class they want, so if you're looking to try out the new classes you can still do that on Balmung! If you're looking to hit the ground running, it may also help to toss up a Making Connections post here on the RPC forums. You can do some targeted "spear fishing" to find characters that'd mesh well with your own.
  23. So the classifications between light/medium/heavy are really up for some debate on what exactly they mean. It's probably easiest to think of them in terms of where a player's priorities lie when it comes to the game itself. For example, a player who is mostly focused on game content and RP's occasionally is a light roleplayer, whereas a player who is equally focused between game content and RP's often is in the medium category. Finally, if you're a player who dabbles in content occasionally but will drop whatever they're doing to run off and RP, that's probably more in the heavy realm. Still, everyone has their own interpretation here and mine is far from the only one. All that to say, you sound like a medium-heavy to me!
  24. Hey there! Based on his personality, I'll mention that if Aramaeus doesn't feel too keen about aristocratic oppression of the middle and lower classes, he would probably be able to find quite a bit of contacts and allies within the Veil (there is no actual need to join the FC- there is an IC linkshell and Discord available). The Veil is an underground organization advocating political reform and the dismantling of the aristocracy, and is made of up of people from both noble houses in Ishgard, Ul'dah, and even Garlemald. You can get into more details via the link in my signature if that sounds interesting at all!
  25. Hey there, and welcome back to the RPC and to FFXIV! One other option to consider is tossing up a Making Connections post here on the RPC- that ought to net you a good starting point to launch from. Best of luck on the hunt over on Mateus!
