Hale and Well Met! Welcome to FFXIV, I'm glad you made the Inter-Universal Lightspeed jump over to Eorzea! We might not have Lightsabers and Jedi but we have staves and magic! Robes are universal. Anyways, Welcome to the RPC! The RP community is mostly centered on Balmung (Which is closed to character creation but not character transfers) But I also know for a fact that there are RP communities on almost every server.

....When you have your character all planned out and you've spent four days tweaking their face to be just right and you have the perfect name and their backstory all planned out and then you get to the Patron Deity screen. And....you can't decide on which to give them...

I usually feel like the Shroud is hard, pending on how serious you take those pesky elementals. I try to be kind of lenient with the concept, but I know some folks are pretty "DOOM" about doing things that will piss them off. Limsa itself seems to get the crap end of Rp....The Wench is so nice and Rp there is still sparse. I've had some good scenes out by the cliffs edges in la Noscea tho..I can totally attest to that place...it's also the home of my secret favorite RP location >.>; Darn those pesky Elementals! One of my favorite places in The Shroud is actually in the Central Shroud looking back at the Carline Canopy and watching the water wheel. So pretty. Limsa is gorgeous, the Wench is my favorite npc inn in the game. La Noscea has such lovely terrain, with the natural rock formations and...all the beasties who'd love to eat your face.

I want to see more people around La Noscea and The Shroud. Such beautiful scenery and yet almost all of the rp happens in Ul'dah. Nothing against the desert, it's pretty!

:lol: You might harass a short redheaded Lalafell by the name of Mikiri Kikiri (me). Though she's of the personal opinion that robes are for learned mages only, not for hedgemages such of herself. OOCly I'd love to help out. ICly....have fun convincing her? *shrugs* I'm putting myself and my Lala out there.

First off: Welcome!! Secondly: Not at all! While a lot of people do use lore friendly names almost the same amount don't! The people who care and don't care will vary but you really shouldn't have too much trouble at all getting Rp. Like Garza said, make up a cool reason. Maybe they changed it to make it easier to non Miqo'te to say, etc. Welcome to the family! We have our ups and downs but we're like duct tape, we stick together.

Ah! When you get home you can right click on your characters as if you were going to delete them and there's an option to save their presets! This is for PC, not sure how to do the same on PS. I hope this helped!

Kudos to Aaron, Leih'a, and Liliana for patiently teaching me the basics of combat rp today, thank you for being infinitely patient with me! And to Lady Krist for being all around awesomesauce and infinitely patient in teaching me normal rp.

I'm sure it's fairly safe to say that Mikiri would be positively overjoyed to come and poke Aden again lol. Or, if you wanted a less sassmaster character, Nevahe and he could bond over books.

(I'm always nervous when posting because I'm never certain I've gotten my post in the right area.) I'm curious to know why your character reveres a certain Deity? Is it because they were born under that Deity's month? Because of their upbringing? OOCly for me, I normally go for a deity that matches my characters as well! For me: Nevahe reveres Thaliak, not only because of her upbringing, but because she truly loves knowledge and believes it to be a very powerful thing, and not just mental knowledge, knowledge of the martial ways is just as powerful. Mikiri follows Azeyma, because when you travel for a living, sometimes the passing of Day into Night is the only constant in your life. Miki's also always had an affinity for fire spells. Natsumi venerates the Dawn father, as does most, if not all, Raen, but on the ship to Eorzea, she heard tales of Llymlaen and grew to respect the Lady of Navigation above the other Eorzean Twelve. She hopes the Navigator will guide her to a place she can come to call 'home' again. Kamazryn is a farm boy at heart but a warrior by trade, therefore it might come as a surprise to those who take the time to get to know this stoic Lalafell that he venerates Nophica, Lady of the Harvest. That's my small posse done...why did your character/s choose to worship their deity?

@ Kiipa: Maybe for the scavenger hunts post a message to clean out your bags of crafting mats first? I know I regretted having mine on me yesterday lol. Also...I wonder if it's possible to put together something for the...ah...directionally stupid of us. I'd have gotten back faster...but I might have gotten lost...once...or twice...That's probably just user error though lol, I have the directional sense of a drunk rock. All in all I had a load of fun, it was super busy and the chat was lively. 20/10 would come again.

My Mikiri is a gypsy-character. She sings like a dying mammet, but she can tell tales, dance, juggle; stuff like that.

Hello! Welcome to RPC, there's a bunch of awesome folk on here. Balmung is sadly always closed for character creation except for like five minutes before servers go down for maintenance. Your honest best bet is to make a character on another server and then transfer them over after the 3 day limit is up. It costs 18$ USD to transfer but you can transfer multiple characters with that 18$. I hope to see you out and about sometime soon!

Sweet and caring I was left alone after the RP ended in our FC house and I was just sitting there wondering about stuff when Okhi appeared next to Nebbs for hugs. That was so nice. Puts up with my weird and silly characters with aplomb! Even if most of our conversations end up going way off track... I had lodes of fun last night and I'm just sorry I had to leave because I was falling asleep at my computer!

Oh you've just opened a can of worms my friend. Um....to most people, WHM is very lorebreaking to rp because historically only the Padjal are White Mages and the city of Amdapor-the heart of White Magic in years past- was destroyed and hidden.

Did you get a "new player" bonus from it? I've had some pretty awful experiences in the first set of dungeons. It's generally full of people who've never played the game before, have no idea that their gear should be kind of around the level of the dungeon, and that tank, healer and DPS are roles and they should follow theirs. If I see a new player message, and I'm tanking, I'll usually notify the party that I'll be marking mobs and to follow a kill order. Sometimes offer advice if I see that the little THM thinks he can be an ice mage, or tell the ARC that spamming all his skills on a single enemy I'm tanking means it's his now. It also means I usually also have to remind the CNJ that they're a healer, and that while yes, I love that they're spamming Stone on things, they also need to keep the party alive as their priority. ...some people get this. Others have no idea. Sometimes, they'll get sassy, but other times, I get some thankyous. Or I'll let them know where they can find some newer gear to make all our lives easier. A little nudge can go far. I did in fact try this because I do try to be a nice person . I got no answer, the Scholar got no answer, and then we tried the auto translate function just in case. Still no answer. I honestly apologize if my rant came off as ribbing on new people, it wasn't my intention at all! We tried all methods of communication that we could think of and the tank never answered. Yes, it was a new player, but had been playing long enough for their sprout to have worn off. Again, I'm sorry if this came off as elite-y or anything *winces*.

Hello! Tanks of Tam-Tara Deepcroft! I understand that it is a spooky place...but no need to lose all your brain cells when you get it! Sheesh. :frustrated: Dear level 19+ Tank in level 10 gear (Yes. You read that right). WHY? Just....why? You make my brain hurt. In addition, it didn't seem like you had Shield Lob. Now, I'm no super tank like some people, but even I know to keep my gear up to date and do my class quests! Running into walls I can handle, I do it all the time, miss a doorway and all that. Attacking the one I clearly marked [4] is another ball of twine entirely. I marked them in an order for a reason. (I was honestly just doing everything in my power to make sure it went smoothly.) Add to this that you were wearing a level 10 sword and shield...:frustrated: and you were...kinda basically useless. Ninja and Scholar were awesome though...
