You definitely don't have to have housing to be on the list. I would prefer that you do have a website however, either here on the RPC or tumblr or some site like Guildworx or Enjin.

I have updated the About Us to clarify that only actively played alts may join. This means the character is played frequently and progress is being made on levels/msq. :moogle:

Like the others have said, get ready for everything to (possibly) change in some way in a month. As far as making your own tribe... why? We have, what, 40 to pick from? But I know some folks do like making everything from scratch, so more power to you. I would say some people frown on it, some people find it interesting, and most people probably won't care. The one thing to keep in mind though is that many of the Xaela tribes have different relationships with other tribes (friendly, disdain, outright warfare, etc.) and most rpers I know do use this facet of Xaela life in their rp. A player made tribe may leave a bit of a hole here. So, even if you go through the list and say which tribes may have good/bad relationships with yours... you're the only one who would know and acknowledge that. So it's something to keep in mind.

...but that means it'll still be a good few months before they show up... I think they said the same thing for HW too... but here's hoping. ^^

No weapon racks, armor displays, or indoor striking dummy (i need this already).

There's a couple other things to consider too... Will you be hosting actual sparring matches there? If so, you'll need plenty of space for spectators and for fighters to move around. Are you going for an Eastern dojo theme or more of a Western gym? It could be nearly a religious space to pretty much a bath house. Your item shopping list will be very different. My Xaela set up a public room for sparring and I went very minimal on the decorations, using a couple mats, incense burner, a few floor cushions, etc. The bathhouse I built has benches, shelves, and cabinets (I think it's the Riviera armoire that has a good tall locker appearance) for people to use.

And piggybacking on this bit of info... there is that toggle to 'Randomize' your idle pose. You can turn off randomize and use /cpose to get to the idle pose you prefer. Then that will be the only pose you use from then on! I do this for all my characters since there's only a couple poses I like and I tend to pick one that fits their mood at the time. But, as everyone else has said, go with what appeals to YOU. You're the one playing it. Try not to worry over what everyone else is playing and how popular something is.

I would really suggest working with your FC or any RP LS you may be in first, especially if you know few people on the server. They are a ready source of friendly contacts so you don't have to try and bake a cake without any ingredients. Structured vs unstructured is really a matter of personal preference. I tend to run only unstructured plots with a lot of twists and turns and intrigue, but this means the plotline can drag out for a long time. Many people prefer a Monster of the Week style where they sign up, go to location, defeat Evil Thing, then go out for beers.

Due to the way it's worded, I can't help but think they are moving west. I wish they'd at least say the region, though. Leaving it in the dark like this when we already know where the servers are now just adds unnecessary worry. I saw some commenters wishing for Primal and Aether to be merged. lol.

Original post updated to reflect change to Daylight Savings Time *grumbles curses* We’ve been asked fairly often recently about whether the Pizzeria is open outside of Wednesday evenings for groups to RP there. It is definitely available anytime, but is NPC staffed outside of Wednesdays. The cook/bartender NPC is named Khoor “Smiley” Dotharl. He… actually doesn’t smile much cause his teeth are filed to points and he knows that tends to freak Eorzeans out. He is really easy-going and claims to be a “retired” Dotharl. (Of course I’m not sure exactly how one ‘retires’ from a tribe. I asked once and he just smiled at me with all those pointy teeth. I’m not asking again. ’ ) If you would like to have the Pizzeria staffed by players outside of our usual weekly event for your FC gathering or private party, please reach out to me (exatomos) at least a few days in advance and we’ll work out the details.
