Tyll is his mother and the IC point of contact for new FC members. Keeper naming conventions can be confusing at times. I just wanted to ensure it wasn't a typo in this case.

My FC is an office building that rents out space to people with no questions asked. Two such renters are a restaurant and a bar. We put disclaimers on our advertisement, but really... we're just an office building. Completely neutral. I think it's more that a lot of people love to add in the "tee hee" phrase itself of "definitely not a front for a shady business". Oh, I should add... I manage the FC Themes thread and the vast majority of groups are exactly what they say they are; maybe a handful are fronts.

You can absolutely leave and form your own tribe. My personal understanding is that there are different groups of the Y tribe (for example) that are not all in the same place and have their own nunh. "Young males are born and raised as 'tia', and most either assume the position of nunh by challenging and defeating as existing nunh in single combat, or leave the community to find a harem of his own." There is one thing though... do you intend to have a harem? If you are going to have one mate only, you are not a nunh for all intents and purposes. ^^; In this case, you could stay tia or just take another name entirely that means something to you.

We've added more LS mods! So now you have more chances of finding someone with invite powers online when you are! :moogle:

I used to be terrified to tank myself and I actually mained it on two characters for SB! I'm always up for helping with advice as well as just providing a chill friend to go to dungeons with people. As an aside, don't forget just how powerful tradition and belief systems are. It's how nobility and religious leaders keep power over the multitudes below them. So it's definitely plausible either way, having other groups or there being just that one group.

Some things I've noticed over the years: Maturity makes a hell of a lot of difference in how someone RPs. Empathy makes a HUGE difference between someone who can only "roleplay" as themselves or actually portraying a character that is different from themselves to the point that they can play multiple characters and you wouldn't realize it's the same player behind the screen (this is what I always strive for). Skill at storytelling and writing can make a huge difference too. How you talk in ooc chat can clue people in to who you are irl faster than anything and will affect how they respond to your character. (I tested this myself by hiding the fact that I was the same person behind two different characters for a while in my old FC.) My FC back on Atomos was about 1/3 female players (fewer server wide); Balmung seems to be about 1/2.

I don't think this thread is being maintained any longer since they didn't update the list to include wards 9-12 that were added in May of 2016. Perhaps a new list is needed? (Yes, I volunteer to make a new one and maintain it if folks want. lol.)

We've nearly doubled the seating in Stellazzio Pizzeria! Hopefully this will help control the chaos a bit! We're also swapping to taking orders at the table after you're seated (before, everyone would order at the bar, then find a seat). The kitchen and main part of the restaurant is still downstairs. Remember, Stellazzio Pizzeria is player staffed on Wednesdays from 7-9 pm EDT, but is open to the public (npc staffed) around the clock! We look forward to seeing you soon!

I know you probably won't like my answer, but I would suggest trying to 'catch up' ICly asap. It is easier imo to deal with a scene that happened in the past and move some small things around in current rp, then to rp a scene in the future and try to make what happens now (the past) move to line up with it (as well as telling people 'sorry I don't know you yet'.)

Everyone I RP with does the whole "Oh, I can't go to X event cause my character is Y." Not even exaggerating. As someone who "bubbles" (lol) often and enjoys going to events, it's incredibly frustrating. I did manage to convince a friend to go to events with me and just say it was before a certain plot point happened, but they kept repeating that it was confusing and weird.

I use RL time and will only reference how late/early it is when the game's time of day (general evening, morning, etc.) matches up with what I see irl.

If my characters are in the middle of a plot that puts them in X location, I either say that their appearance at X event is out of time (continuity) or the event isn't something that actually happened (I rarely do serious rp at the busier events anyways). Not sure if it helps or not, but my character who is similarly tied up in the who liberation thing has been helping with post-liberation clean up and skirmishing since I imagine that when the real work begins (I believe they allude to that in quest text as well.) It is also vague enough (background-y) to mesh well with whatever they add in the next patch(es).

I've used potd as a "generic evil ruins where bad stuff happens tm" for RP before. It was fun, but like others have said, the timer sucks. (eta: I personally stay far away from having anyone important or tied to msq give me quests to do. What goes on in the msq has little to do with my characters. Personal preference.)

Yeah, this would be going backwards in the evolution of mmos. I /loved/ playing muds back when (and still would if I knew others that did)(but then, I'd miss graphics). I think the only way something like this were to happen is if fans made it.

I've found that most people, if playing a character whose age doesn't quite line up with their appearance, will put that detail in their search info. Otherwise, they usually work in into conversation: "My husband and I own a silversmith shop; our son apprentices there." or "I'm trainin' to be a gladiator! Or would if my mom ever let me out of her sight..." If your character is the type to conform to strict politeness, just do the Southern thing and call everyone ma'am/sir til they correct you. lol.
