  1. I finally got my code exactly 24 hours after I made my purchase yesterday morning. Weird! But yay I got it! I'm so excited for that butler outfit.
  2. I like this plan. *hugs*
  3. I did, alas. Ordered a physical copy of Kirby: Planet Robobot for the 3ds. Had the promotion, was in the checkout. Nothin so far, though. I ordered an Atlus game for 3DS that looks like a glorious trainwreck and I'm still waiting for my code, too. Thanks for letting us know what CS says if you message them about it!
  4. Mutually-needed hugs? I'll lean on you and you can lean on me and through physics we might both stay upright.
  5. Hugs are extremely welcome at this point. Work is killing me. I will gratefully return hugs as well. Or fistbumps for those who aren't into hugs.
  6. I put in my order, but who knows how long it'll take the code to come through. And it said on the order page that it was eligible for the DLC promotion so I know it will be coming. Man, this waiting thing is hard! lol
  7. I have IC Tumblrs set up for my three main kids. Someday when work isn't crushingly busy I'll get some writing up on them. For now it's mostly screenshots and asks and reblogs. Personally I think character blogs/Tumblrs/etc are a LOT of fun and can be really helpful for learning about characters - both for the person maintaining the blog and those who view it!
  8. I've got a sweet scholar mooncatte, Cam'nahl Zarasten, who can always stand to make more friends. Lately I've been a little busy with his new relationship status, but when I'm not in the middle of that I'd be happy to toss him into the mix! And I'm not on my Au Ra (Rhet Hawke) as often because I'm determined to get Cam through HW content, but he's another one who is available to meet up sometime. He's Xaela and something of a protective, "older brother" type figure despite being tall and intimidating-looking.
  9. Ah, I am blind! Thank you for pointing out the link. He seems like an interesting character! Runic's Mik'hal is actually the twin brother of my Cam'nahl, so if you two connect sometime in game there would undoubtedly be some excuse sometime for Cam to stop by. He's much more trusting than Mik; Cam's a healer and a scholar and a shy, quiet nerdkitty. I wonder if the world would explode with three blue-haired catboys in the same place at the same time...
  10. [redacted; sorry to intrude!]
  11. https://67.media.tumblr.com/2c7e726ead0e3a8ac0373ebc81928bb3/tumblr_o8hgq5NxgD1vsvw4go7_1280.png[/img] A take-two on Cam'nahl and Mik'hal Zarasten. Twins in twin garb! Makes it even more obvious that they aren't identical... but dang, they're cute. I love them so much.
  12. Cam'nahl Zarasten and his boyfriend spent some quality time out stargazing in Southern Thanalan the other night
  13. - It's really, really, really easy to make Cam blush (and he has friends who find this highly amusing.) - He has also been known to get distracted by an interesting plant to the point of tunnel-vision, where he doesn't realize there's danger nearby until it's actively trying to attack him. - The last thing I can think of is that he's a really attentive combat medic - however, he will forego healing himself and solely focus on others unless he is critically wounded.
  14. It's kind of what RP's all about ;D As you say though, real life influences are fine. I use 'willow bark' constantly as a pain reliever, because it's basically aspirin. Does Eorzea have willows? I don't really know. There are probably a lot of species of plant life that aren't specifically covered by the limited amount of harvest-able materials we've been given. Botanists need to have something to do that isn't just chopping down trees!
  15. Yes, this! I play a healer as well, but based on arcanima instead of conjury. So his healing is based on a great deal of study, though he still has to manipulate aether in order to do anything involving actual 'magic' healing. But since he's a scholar (in every sense of the word), he's read a significant amount on anatomy and physiology and might not always rely on magic to do the whole job. Which makes sense, since my understanding of arcanima is that the majority of the aether used has to come from within the user. (Cam did overdo it once on the magic healing and ended up passed out from the effort. That's part of how I try to balance the "I wave my hands and POOF you are no longer bleeding!" aspect of things. I personally believe using magic should be as draining as any other skill, if not moreso. And there is always a strong chance that something is simply outside of their ability to heal completely... or even at all. Depends on the plot and the people involved.) I dunno if my experience, what little it is, helps at all.. but there you go!
  16. I'm trying really hard to not be bummed out about the whole housing thing, but it's difficult. I had a friend in the rumble who's been wanting a house for a long time but wasn't able to grab anything by the time they got through the login queue. It's too bad they can't make player housing more proportionate to the server population. I understand having a smaller number of plots on servers that aren't very full, but with a server like Balmung it just seems kind of silly to have it so massively restricted. But I'm not a programmer (not even slightly) and I know nothing of the back-end processes. Just a bummed out player who will just have to keep waiting for the opportunity to have a room in a house in the lav beds. Huge congrats to those who got the houses they wanted! The odds were in your favor!
  17. Hello Serenity, I hope you enjoy your forays into arcanima. I'm still learning, myself, but I would be happy to help you with any questions you may have. I cannot promise I will have all the answers, but hopefully I may be able to point you in the right direction. All the best to you! Cam'nahl Zarasten (ooc: Welcome to Balmung... soon, anyway! )
  18. Ha! I could totally sign up two of my characters: Riski Chanse (Male Wildwood Elezen): Rhet Hawke (Male Xaela Au Ra): There's absolutely no way I could get my Miqo'te to do it in an IC capacity, though. BUT if you'd like to not-ICly use a shy, glasses-wearing, blue-haired catboy, I've also got Cam'nahl Zarasten (who is in my icon! More pictures here too.) If you'd like to use my boys just let me know and I am more than happy to meet up with you somewhere!
  19. We hijacking this thread like it's a youth brigade being attacked in a false flag operation. I think for sure 2 and 5 were the best. 5 was a bit derivative but still touched a lot of the same buttons in me. Actually I'm one of those few folks who loved the hell out of 4. It's not my favorite (2 reigns supreme, but 1 is actually a very close second) but it was a genuinely fun game despite its flaws. Also I'm just gonna sit here at work and flail quietly because finding Suikoden fans is so damn rare and it just makes me Really Freaking Happy. You guys have made my day
  20. SUIKODEN III! Me, I'm at work for the majority of the day. I'll worry about what to do with my day without FFXIV when I get home.
  21. Welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay!
  22. Cam'nahl Zarasten: Scholar catte reads bunch of books but fails at getting himself proper socialization. Rhet Hawke: All My Friends Are Dead. Except you. Riski Chanse: My BFF got killed and the rest of the gang left me for dead so I decided to become someone new. That was harder than I expected!
  23. Look forward to seeing you on Balmung! When you do decide to transfer, keep in mind that you can transfer up to 8 characters from your current server to your new one! So it's possible to not have to pay for multiple transfers if you play your cards right (I did not do this and I am kicking myself, shh...) The characters only have to be three days "old" and completed the tutorial bits of the beginning to be eligible for transfer.
  24. Balmung is definitely the go-to RP server, but I believe there is info in the Linkshell Hall that might help you to see what might be out there on other servers if you don't want to pay for a transfer. There's a pretty decent EU contingent that I've seen on Balmung, though.
