  1. Soooo many folks, though mostly from City of Heroes largely because my supergroup (guild) has a yearly meet up that we've done three times now. A few of us also live in around the same-ish area of/around NC so we sometimes get together for comic movies and other events. I've also met a number of my old WoW guildies. From the FF community I've met both Trisselle Ganathain (some years ago) and more recently Solenne Lagarde (who I'll be seeing again when Suicide Squad comes out in a couple weeks). And as RC said, if FanFest pans out I'll be making a point of seeing a LOT of Balmung folks I've not met too.
  2. Hey, it's me, the late kid to the thread. While I didn't originally buy a ticket (largely due to how much vacation time I had and choosing between yearly meetup with CoH pals and FanFest)....surprise surprise, my oh so amazing director has gifted me with a rather sizable chunk of vacation time with my promotion to burn between now and the end of the year. SO, if anyone has a friend that ended up backing out of their ticket, do feel free to point them my way. I would definitely be down for going and meeting up with you crazy folks, if possible.
  3. Kudos to Aya Foxheart! After lots of attempts and trying to match up schedules we finally got to RP. Thanks for sticking with it and looking forward to next time!
  4. Thank you a thousand times to all the volunteers, competitors, and spectators! It's great to see such a good reception and to hear all the positive feedback on the event. Like Ellie said, hearing and seeing that everyone enjoyed the event makes all the hard work that went on behind the scenes most definitely worth it! One suggestion that we've heard (and initially considered but didn't follow through with this time) was having the events separately so one person could attempt to win them all. But if there are others, by all means, feel free to offer them! Thank you all once again! You really brought the event to life!
  5. I hope everyone's shined their shields and sharpened their lances because... jgopHWACUXs Back again for the first time, tonight is the night for a second serving of (courteous) smackdowns at The Grand Tournament of the Fury starting at 7pm in Camp Dragonhead! Tonight will feature the Melee and Joust events and if that's not enough to fill your appetite for mayhem, once that's concluded (if time allows), we'll be seeing the Grand Champion Melee where all four champions will fight it out for and one will earn the title of GRAND CHAMPION! To allow for things to begin on time at 7pm, both myself (Martiallais Heuloix) and Gwenneth Gilrouis will be on site early to help begin sign ups early, answer any questions, and direct people to where they'll need to be so the real fun can begin! Spectators are encouraged once more, as competitors will need someone to give their favor to, so come and cheer your favorite warrior to victory! And to the combatants, may the Fury be with you!
  6. We do aim to please! Besides, we had to save a nice little surprise till the very end, right? 8-)
  7. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages...! As The Grand Tournament of the Fury preparations conclude, the games ready to begin tomorrow, Friday, June 24th and continuing on Sunday, June 26th I hope all the soon to be champions are making ready! However, there is one last announcement to be made! In keeping with the theme of the tournament, we would invite competitors, no matter the event, to BYOH! And what is BYOH one might ask? Well allow me to explain. It's simply an invitation to Bring Your Own Herald! Please see below for a few PRIME examples! jdWO9ozir1Y While we are all certain that every competitor set to take the field this weekend has a glorious and most epic tale to tell, in the interest of time we'll be allowing heralds to woo, wow, and rile the audience before the FINALS of each competition, then once more before the Grand Champion Melee! This is entirely optional, of course, and meant to be in good fun overall! We simply ask that any introductions be ready when the time to present them comes and not last longer than a couple minutes. We're all excited for the event and hope you all are too! Please look forward to it!
  8. +1 Would recommend RP'ing with this person. She's a total sweetheart and generally fun to just chit chat with. That said, if I ever get time (and energy) to level my other Duskie some more, I'll give you a buzz to RP with your Duskie. That or the skype RPs, of course.
  9. The Bellworks is still here and a-ringing! With the Ishgard MSQ winding down, we've taken a little time to get settled and see where characters are going post-patch. In the past month we've seen the conclusion of our "Endangered Liasons" story arc and preparations continue full speed ahead for the Grand Tournament of the Fury coming later this month! Information on that trio of fun events be found ----> here! We've also begun regular (IC) escorts because products and supplies don't move themselves! So far those have been conducted both to Ishgard and through the Shroud with more to come. As if all that wasn't enough for our intrepid businessfolk heroes, there are a few story arcs beginning to take shape in the background to keep them all busy and on their toes. -dun dun dunnnn- On a last (and lighter) note, our weekly DragonPunch nights continue to be a source of much hilarity and sometimes even a bit of loot as we try to fling our bodies at this or that in PvE as a team. Recruitment is still open if you'd like to join in with this crazy crew (found here) and we're always open to cross-FC fun with other daring souls. Till then, We Bell 8-)
  10. Late to the party (as usual) but I'll chime in and echo the 'yes it was a nice happy ending but now I think I need to see my dentist'. Ishgard's story was about war and loss and sacrifice...and while it probably would've been called equally predictable as a rainbow over Ishgard post-Final Steps, I think it would've been a little more touching emotionally to have Alphinaud have to say goodbye to Estinien before we (the WoL) sent him to that great big battle in the sky. To be honest, when Ysale and Harchefaunt showed up, I thought that's exactly what they were hinting at. All that aside, as for my personal RP with Mar, I'm kind of stuck waiting to see what to do with Ishgard going forward. I definitely don't want to be one of those RPers suddenly grabbing power/promotions/etc but I think it's been earned by now. Just a matter of implementing it in a way that doesn't feel cheap to me. Having Ishgard get a GC of some sort would be pretty perfect though, that's for sure. I'm also working on the kick off for a story arc dealing with a post-war Dragoon + family problems so in that regard, the overall HW ending works well for what I have planned. EDIT: Oh and seeing both 'normal' knights and Lucia doing their thing in the cutscenes was a plus. It meant I've been RP'ing Mar's "power level" (lawl) pretty on par for the most part.
  11. Steel is hands down one of my favorite players and Roes! But I've said all that before, instead I'll say if you're able, you should totally poke them for RP either on the forum or ingame. She's one of the most fun and genuine characters I've had the pleasure of hanging out/fighting/causing trouble with.
  12. That anima paladin weapon -almost- makes me want to get it. Thanks for posting this stuffs though.
  13. lhjk5x54bsE Time to get our objection on!
  14. Very hype. Much excite. Wow. But no, definitely ready to do Final Steps. Also excited for the new raid/dungeon/dungeon delve too, o'course.
  15. Thanks again for the behind the scenes bits! I am always a bit curious about this kind of stuff. That said, goes without saying but you can consider Mar signed up for the Trial. 8-)
  16. The ever wonderful Aya! Friendly and welcoming whether OOC or IC, she's a real gem in the community. I'm keeping an eye on the sky, waiting for the stars to align so we finally get to RP together!
  17. Let's goooooo team! lv__oHM2ZYQ In all seriousness, I'd like to spend my minor (first time!) before the event, should I just catch you ingame Spahro or is PM okay?
  18. Oh Lilli! One of the few people I can say I know from the GW2 days and actually still associate with positive things, which is saying something. She's a sweetheart but don't go crossing the momma bear!
  19. Martiallais Heuloix is in. For Great Justice & Halone!
  20. Reading about Paul, he sounds like he's a character that would never be lacking when it comes to good stories to tell in a tavern or around a fire. I like the idea of an inspector character too! It's the kind of thing that adds more to the 'living' feeling of the game world.
  21. The soothing sound of flowing waters served as an all too different back drop compared to the screams and pleas for mercy that still echoed around the knight as he lay suddenly awake, staring at the familiar ceiling. Rubbing a palm over his face, he climbed from the bed, a sense dread lingering in the air despite the serene surroundings and pleasant memories that simply being at the Bobbing Cork brought to mind. Whether it was the weight of what they sought to stop finally bearing down upon him or lingering thoughts from his conversation with Leanne that turned dark and sinister, Martiallais wasn't sure what had caused the nightmare but he knew that, for now at least, he'd helped set wheels in motion to, hopefully, contribute to the group's success. The Twelve knew they needed all the aid they could get in the days to come. Finding himself staring out over the clouds in the Shroud, he shook his head then took a seat at the desk and began penning the first of a pair of missives. Passing the short missive off for delivery as he made his way from the inn, Martiallais looked north, towards his home. He'd come to the Shroud in part to make preparations of his own for the battle ahead, afterall. He was entirely certain, however, that Ishgard would and could make due without him for a few moons' time. And there was surely no harm in making a few more pleasant memories here in the Shroud.
  22. Will swap Mar to Them That Sold Doves to make room for some more scholarly/knowledgeable sorts.
