  1. I'd like to sign up for B with Jana, but I tend to get home from work a little later than the posted event time (15-30 minutes, depending on traffic and things). If that's ok, that's what I'd like to do. If not, I'll sign up for event D!
  2. The Azim Steppe wouldn't be the place for it; the Xaela tribes don't share any similarity with Chinese cultures and already have their own religious beliefs in place. Yanxia might be the place for it, but so far we haven't seen anything about religious practices. The onmyouji enemies that appear in FATEs there are exiles from Hingashi, banished for performing dark rituals, but we don't know if Hingashi's onmyou is based off of Doman Taoism the way real-world Japan's onmyou is based on Chinese Taoism. If there are levequests or FATEs in the world that can clear anything up, I haven't done too many of those so feel free to add onto this if anyone knows more!
  3. -snip- At the risk of giving a "Works on my machine!" reply, I never had any issues with it when I mained DRG during 2.x. I always targeted the most distant mob, moved myself to place everything else between, and let it rip. Excepting ranged mobs that sit in one place, no fancy positioning was needed by the tanks or myself. I dunno if maybe it doesn't work so well with a controller vs mouse+keyboard or if latency can affect it since you need to keep moving as the mobs crowd the tank, but I doubt the AoE was made more narrow or anything... Hmm.
  4. I've been using the TeamViewer app on my phone to log in while I leave work so I'll be at the head of the queue by the time I get home, but when I popped it yesterday, the queue was only at 52 so I closed it. By the time I got home an hour and a half later, it was already over 900, but I got into the game maybe... 45 minutes later, so even that wasn't so bad.
  5. You shoulda learned yer Doom Spike in 2.x, it was always the better of the two DRG AoEs for DPS! Ring of Thorns was only better after comboing into it from Heavy Thrust.
  6. Apparently, things have been mostly fixed. There's a queue but things are fine once you're in.
  7. At least it sounds like we can get the big takeaway that the job isn't gonna be another WoL-locked one.
  8. This is mostly because everyone knows of at least one way to bypass the 'timer auto-kick' True. One of my guildies linked to be a programs that basically "jiggles" your mouse so a game always thinks you're online. If you don't wanna get booted, you'll find ways I actually did this a lot on accident during HW's launch by falling asleep with my laptop mouse on the bed...
  9. No single RPer, LS, or FC is obligated to stay on Balmung or move somewhere else for any reason at all. While it would be nice to have every single RPer on Balmung, we already know that the numbers just won't work with the server hardware limitations.
  10. I'm glad they chose to localize it as Dad.
  11. Full-length chiptune themes would be nice!
  12. Signing up for event C... But not as Jana, as Uzuki instead.
  13. Jana pending for Blueblood Sands until a date is announced ~
  14. If it's OK, I'll sign up as pending until I know for sure I'm not busy that night.
  15. Seems like milkweed is an addictive hallucinogenic drug to people/spoken while it's more like alcohol to the sylphs, per their beast tribes quests.
  16. Just wanted to touch up on some SMN stuff. 1) The ability to summon an Egi of a primal requires your character to have been present when the primal was defeated and for the primal to not have been summoned too powerfully. In game mechanics, the Hard and Extreme versions of primals are already too strong for the summoner (even the wunderkind Warrior of Light) to harness in the form of an Egi, so players are limited to the three we face in the leveling story quests. This doesn't mean your character couldn't summon another primal's Egi if they faced it at a "lower level," i.e. summoned without an excess of crystals or any blood sacrifices. In the case of primals summoned too powerfully to harness as an Egi, the summoner can harness the primal's aether with a Trance State. In the summoner's job quests you skip straight to Bahamut as it's considered the most powerful primal and everyone in Eorzea was doused in his aether, but your character certainly doesn't need to do this if they can Trance another primal (especially if they don't have the connections to get to Carteneau that the WoL does). 2) Arcanima is required for a Summoner because the tomes they use have the summoning rituals and geometries for their spells written in them. While there's nothing saying your character can't also be good at casting with a scepter or cane, using Summoner abilities does require a tome. The ancient Allagan spells that are tied to the soulstone but not directly to summoning (Tri-Bind and Disaster, Painflare, etc) are also cast with a tome.
  17. Assault as Jana, assuming An will be bringing the ship for it!
  18. I don't think the epithets we see in-game are the same as surnames; we've seen the surnames of some NIN questline NPCs in the lore book and they didn't seem related to the titles they use during quest duties at all.
